I will be going back to camp at Brook Meadow for the 5th time for a week at Easter '11. It's a lovely relaxed site based around a nice fishing lake well stocked with Carp.
There is a level camping area around the lake with room for at least 30 tents, and an adjoining field with lots of space for caravans. Also 3 fully equipped log cabin style lodges that can be rented.
One of the main attractions for me is that the visitors get use of the 'fishing lodge', another log cabin which houses 2 clean indoor showers rooms with basins and toilets, also 2 separate toilets, pay washer and dryer, washing up facilities, a kettle, microwave and fridge! Who could ask for more when camping?! Hot water bottles makes chilly nights a doddle!
The site is on a working farm which you have to drive through to access the lake field and there is also caravan storage on site. It is situated next to a gliding club and you regularly see these majestic planes swooping over the site, almost silently. Well worth a walk down the lane to watch the gliders being towed up into the air.
The site is surrounded by managed forest with lots of walks available.
The farm also runs an 'adventure' business so at times at the weekends, there are successions of 4 wheel ATVs chugging past and the distant sound of clay pigeon shooting but it's not intrusive. All in all, it's cheap, clean and in a lovely setting next to the beautiful lake with all the waterfowl. Even the friendly farm dog is a constant visitor to the tents if welcomed. I will soon back again.

Phoned up and booked Thursday, turned up late Friday night at 6.15, got a very warm welcome from some over caravanners who showed us where our pitch was. It was hard standing with grass for awning, loads of room and electric too for £15 a night bargain. We had a lovely view of the lake, wish we had brought our fishing kit with us. We saw some big double figure carp come out, very nice fish. Was fished on bottom feeders and saw some one floating bread who also got a carp. Lynne went for a shower, she said it was nice and clean and water was hot, no one waiting to go in either, so that's sweet. All in all a great site with loads to do and see, gliders just down the road £20 for a ride in them looks cool.

We spent only one night at this site. It offers great fishing facilities.
The price was very reasonable at £15 per night with EHU. Though this was reflected in the amenities available.
There were two Bathrooms available which were rather basic and not very tidy. No other loos were there so once the rooms were in use you had to wait your turn. The site was only 1/3 full but it was sometime before a bathroom became available.
There was a washing machine, freezer and microwave available for use.
And yet we rather enjoyed our brief stay in this lovely location, out in the countryside on the side of a large fishing pond.
One word of warning is the post code if entered in a satnav, takes you to a wrong address. If you end up with a lodge on your left hand side then you need to continue a further mile approx, and you will find this site on your right.

Stayed here last year in a tent and really never liked it. Stayed here this year in a caravan and really enjoyed it! We stayed by the lake which meant no electric hook-up but didn't care as it was just so much nicer. I can see now that the site is a lovely site when less busy. Couldn't find the waste disposal but apart from this everything was fine. The two shower rooms are big enough for a family and there are two other toilets and a washing machine and tumble dryer. Some huge fish for fishing in the lake. For bird watchers there were moorhens, a great crested grebe, terns and loads of swallows nesting on the cabins. Also wagtails and a yellowhammer. Nice place to visit is Foxton Locks on the way to Market Harborough. All in all a nice peaceful site and the owners dogs are very friendly.

We visited this site over the bank holiday with a group of friends.
We found the site to be laid back and a nice cheap price, although it did feel as if you got what you paid for.
The things we liked were the price per night, the laid back attitude, the lake, the fishing watching the gliders, the local location to us and making a bonfire.
Things that we didn't like was that the facilities were not adequate for the site when it was as busy like this weekend. Two showers with toilets and two separate toilets. The showers were not clean, but this may have been due to the bad weather and volume of users and I had problems getting a warm shower.
The grass on the site was not short which meant everything getting a bit wet and muddy, but it did drain well.
The quads and helicopters are noisy, but this is not a problem. Due to the remoteness of the site I think a shop would be a great asset to this site, as we had to drive to the nearest shop about two miles away for supplies. Also friends of ours walked a mile to a pub only to find it was shut!
Not a bad site for its price, but I like hot clean showers that don't have long queues! And keep an eye on children as ours managed to find discarded bbq knifes and broken glass in the wooded area behind the bins.

We arrived at the site with our caravan for a one night stay on our way to Dover for our main holiday. There was no one about, but after searching and phoning for about 15 minutes, we eventually got through to someone who told us to find a pitch and park up and pay later. The site is very pretty and would be great for fishermen. We never tried the toilet block, so we can't comment on them.
Overall, we were pleased with the site, but I don't think we'd go back there.

We visited twice to this camp in July 2010.
This was our first and second time of camping, other campers were very helpful although I think they did have a giggle at us trying to put up the tent for the first time. Took 3 hours the first time and 40 minutes the 2nd time (Hey Hidy Hi)
Site was not over crowded and other campers respected your peace and quite time at night.
Plenty of open field for the children/adults to play which did not encroach on other campers.
There is a block for showering with 2 showers with toilets and a separate toilet area with 2 toilets. There are queues around 8pm is but we didn't have to wait that long.
If you like to fish, there is fishing near by for the fishermen or just relax and read a book.
I would recommend this site.

We used this site for one night last year, as it's very close to Market Harborough where my wife's sister lives. A camping weekend here seemed the ideal way for us to get together this year.
The site is basic but very roomy, surrounded as it is by arable land and a glider airfield (the kids loved watching them take off). Facilities are adequate and there's a very relaxed atmosphere with little interference from the owners. There's no playground for kids, and you really need to get in the car if you need anything (though I dare say it would be peasant cycling around the local lanes). The lake is nice, but with four little kids between us we didn't get too close.
The only problem we had over the weekend was with wasps, which plagued us at every mealtime. I would definitely recommend buying a fake wasp nest to keep them at bay.
Otherwise, a great place for an inexpensive, relaxing break, with plenty of room to stretch out and real 'heart of England' countryside nearby.

This site was lovely! We just wanted something quite local that was cheap and relaxed and we weren't disappointed.
Being a quiet time of the year we had a fabulous stay. There were a few people about, all well spread out.
Things I loved about this site:
Rural location - great for people who enjoying driving or walking about.
Homely facilities - The showers, toilets and wash basins are in a little summer house type thing. There was mismatched seats and tables which gave it a great relaxed feel and the bathrooms were cleaned often - of course there was still grass and bits in there but you're meant to be roughing it a bit!
The Owners - polite and easy going. As others have mentioned its extremely laid back. Turn up when you like, camp wherever you fancy.
We only have a tent but there were caravans and some pitches had electric hook up for tents. There were also chalets that looked lovely and I noticed one was definitely disabled friendly as one guy staying there was in a wheelchair. I thought this was very good.
There's an upper field and the lower one set around the lake. It was lovely to hear the moorhens and ducks messing about in the water and the fishing must be good as there was several people at it all weekend.
The site isn't necessarily 'child friendly' but its certainly not unfriendly. I think some people think kids need manufactured play areas to be amused but I know I would have been happy there when I was little. Lots of open space for ball games and loads of exploring to be done! Fabulous!
We will be back with the In-laws in tow as the father loves his fishing and this would be a great spot for him.
Oh and the dog that 'patrols' is gorgeous and friendly and wasn't too upset about other dogs on his patch.
At £10 a night we will be back with friends and family and recommending it to anyone who fancies exploring that region - and I have to have a go on the quad safari next time! I reckon this is a boys haven, and as I'm a bit of a tomboy I was in my element

Having been here last year for the late May bank holiday we decided to book for this year as well as my Wife loves to watch the sunset over the lake while sipping wine and eating BBQ. This year the weather was appalling Very high winds torrential rain thunder and lightening (well at least the tent got weather tested). On the Monday the tent was too wet to take down so we decided to look at the weather forecast and as it was so good we booked till the following Saturday. We love this site but there are some cons but first the Pro's
Pro's
Beautiful surroundings
Great facilities
Good fishing
Lovely walks
Easy access to Market Harborough or Lutterworth
Local shop 2 miles away
Pitches with good views of the Lake
Easy access to all pitches
Con's
Quad bike noise
Noisey children (sometimes)
Long queues for the showers at peak times
Uneven road (large potholes)
No shop
More facilities for children (play area)
All in all it's a lovely site and we definitely will return, in our opinion the only let downs are the noise from the adventure site next door, no shop on site and something for the children to do, which would hopefully cut the noise down although it only got noisy when one particular family arrived on the last Friday.
Jasper and his wife who own the place are friendly and helpful the site is in a a stunning setting and reasonably priced.
