We recently spent a weekend at this site to give our new tent a trial pitch. The owners are friendly and helpful, allowing us to arrive later than planned, and providing prompt resolution to a minor EHU problem.
We liked the security barrier to control access to the site, restricting it to campers and the fishermen that use the site for access to the lake. A nice touch is the kitchen area with a microwave for campers use, pot washing facilities, an indoor dining table and a veranda looking over the lake. The existing facilities block (a new one is being built) also provides laundry facilities, and we liked the toilet/shower/basin all-in-one cubicles, however we would have preferred mens and ladies toilets being separate.
The site is attractive, and the lake provides a pleasant short walk. There are recently planted trees around the gently sloping site, and when these have grown a little more will provide welcome shelter - we experienced quite high winds whist staying and the location is quite exposed to these. There was a cat and an old dog, both very friendly, that wander the site giving the impression that they are looking after the campers, and several times a day ducks would waddle past the camping field.
It is a working farm, and so we experienced the smells and sounds that you would expect from this, but not to an extent that marred our stay. The farm also provides outdoor activities such as clay pigeon shooting and quad bikes, and there is a nearby airfield where tow-planes launch gliders - whilst aware of these activities, the sounds are not intrusive.
Overall a good site that we would visit again.

We spent an unexpected weekend here after the original site we were due to go to had problems with the new hardstandings they had put in place. We are SO pleased that they did, otherwise we wouldn't have found this little gem of a site.
Fantastically clean facilities, beautiful lakeside location, lovely and quiet and very friendly and helpful owners.
There are shops and pubs available within a few miles radius of the site if you want them. Otherwise you can spend a lovely time away from any hustle and bustle.
Highly recommended and we will most definitely be returning time and again.

Great site which allows fires. Staff are friendly as is the farm dog who wanders around saying hello (he's very old and very friendly).
There is a small shop at reception. There are two toilets with showers but they are building a larger shower block which will be great as it can get a bit frustrating in the morning if you just want to nip to the loo and people are queuing for a shower. There are a further two toilets at the back of the baby changing area which you can use once you realise they are there!
Area is lovely with some great walks, families with small children may want to pitch in the top field as some pitches are very close to the lake in the bottom field.

We have recently stayed here over the Easter holidays. Just the two of us and the dog. The owners were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. They did not mind that we arrived later than planned after dark. However I would recommend arriving with some light if possible.
The site is in a spectacularly beautiful location. The shower blocks are clean and adequate, however the new shower blocks are on the way and look to be be near completion.
The on site facilities are great - tumble drier, washing machine, hairdryer, washing up area. There is also a small shop on site which stocks basic essentials.
Great place to relax and walk the dog, plenty of wildlife to enjoy. No problems with noise or unsupervised children. View of the lake all day was great. We did not fish but plenty did. Did not have to rush of site as with most sites.
Would recommend this site and would visit again.

Managed to get one of the last 10amp pitches. Great view of the lake. Great for dog walking, although a few dogs were not on leads but site does say dogs must be kept on leads. Also gas bottles not caged at end of shower block and many people smoking next to them, very clever, not. Very nice owners and will be back. The shower blocks are clean with tumble dryer and microwave. The lake was frozen but will be back to try the fishing next time. This is a great little site on a working farm.

Came to this site in one off the coldest weekends but that didn't spoil it for us
A very nice welcome from the site staff
Nice grass pitch but you need some levels as its got quite a slope
Nice walks all around and a fantastic fishing lake a little village not far away
The shower block was always spotless and well kept
Not really a lot to do around the area but we go to chill and relax walk the dog and get away from it all
Well worth a visit

We stayed here for one night on the way up to the Lake District. A little bit further off the A14 than we first thought, but very well placed.
We arrived quite late and the reception was closed, but as they were expecting us they soon came and opened up for us to check in.
It was pretty quiet and as we didn't have electric hook up we could pitch anywhere. We decided to go near to the facilities at the bottom of the field. The facilities are in a wooden chalet, and although there are only 2 bathrooms, each with toilet, basin and shower, they were empty every time we used them. The chalet was warm and there was also a kettle and microwave in there although we didn't use these.
Overall a great find.

Visited the site 8/9th making the most of the weather.
The site is easy to find right on the Northants Leicestershire border about 8 miles from junction 20 of the M1.
Found the staff to be helpful and friendly.
We had a non electric pitch in the top field so pitch anywhere we liked, we pitched around the bottom edge leaving the centre empty for the kids to play, there was a good mix of vans and tents, we really enjoyed the open space and watching the gliders coming overhead to land in a nearby field.
The shower toilet facilities are limited at the moment but there will be a new larger block which will be a big welcome improvement.
There is also a small kitchen area with the usual kettle, microwave and a handy seating area for all to use, this is contained in a wooden chalet type building with a veranda where you can sit and look out over the lake and the ducks or watch the sunset which was beautiful.
We explored the local area and visited the annual scarecrow festival in Lubenham which was enjoyable as well as the Foxton locks inn which served great pub food at a fair price.
We will definitely return again as its such a nice site to sit and watch the world go by.

Amazed from the beginning! I paid for a weekend camp for easter but due to the weather we cancelled. We turned up on 31/08/12 and they honoured our origional deposit! No issues, not many sites would do this. The site is very well kept the grass is well mown and the tent pegs can be knocked in with no stones or rocks. The lake is well stocked so fishing is always a good option. Staff are really well mannered and obliging and always ready to help. We will always keep this well managed and quiete site in our 'favourit' catagory. Love it!

Just returned from a weekend break to Brook Meadow. The site is about 25mins away from where we live and found it to be the perfect getaway for us.
We had a friendly welcome when we booked in at reception and were handed a code for the security barrier which gives you access into the main site.
We didn't require elec hook up and was told we could basically pitch up anywhere on the top field. We quickly found a lovely spot, which was fairly even (although the site is on a gentle slope).
There were quite a lot of campers out but we still had plenty of space and tranquillity. We had a walk to the 'lower' field where there was a lovely fishing lake, further camping and some small holiday chalets.
There was also an impressive chalet for all campers to use which included toilets, showers, a microwave, laundry facilities and fridge. Although we have a shower in the van, my daughter was very keen to try out the showers on site.
The room was large and the shower was great with lots of warm water. We got in straight away, though I would imagine you might have quite a wait at busy times.
The plans for a new toilet/shower block is displayed on the wall. Though there isn't swings etc for the children, the space is fantastic and plenty of opportunities to play ballgames, take bikes etc.
There is a mound that my daughter spent most of the weekend playing on! We were also treated to fantastic flybys from the gliders from the nearby gliding club, which was fascinating to watch. All in all we had a great weekend.
Peaceful, but with things to see, a friendly site and lovely views. BBQ's and great weather! That's the life!
The site is in easy reach of various villages with pubs, takeaways, shops etc and we enjoyed a trip to Foxton Locks and Market Harborough.
