We've just finished our third visit to Langstone and it just gets better every time.
The location is perfect, it's very easy to get to and yet you can walk onto open moorland in less than 3 minutes. The variety of accommodation options mean that there really is something for everybody; from private pitches to glamping pods, caravans and cottages.
The thought that has gone into any and every need we might have is awesome. Jane and David are the perfect hosts and the rest of the staff are just great. Meals in the restaurant are excellent and the bar is always well stocked.
I honestly cannot fault the whole experience. 10 stars plus.

My wife and I have been staying at Langstone twice a year for the past five years and we can't wait to return.
The holiday homes are clean and so well equipped. The staff are friendly and helpful. What more could you want.

Excellent site. Facilities very clean. Will certainly go again.
Friendly and helpful staff. A decent level hardstanding pitch. A few of the grass pitches are sloping so chocks would be essential. Dog and child friendly.
Reasonably well stocked shop, with food and camping accessories. The bar and restaurant are also dog-friendly and the food - although a limited menu - Was excellent.
Approach road is narrow with few passing places. In the wet a risk of getting bogged down off the tarmac - be prepared to reverse if necessary!

We enjoyed our recent stay on one of the few hardstanding pitches. There is a slope on the site so motorhomers should make sure they have their ramps on board.
Some of the grass pitches were a bit soggy. The views from our window across the open countryside were really good. The underfloor-heated clean showers and toilets were a pleasure to use and the spacious bright dishwashing room with a view out the window made this daily task less of a chore.
The Elsan disposal room was well-designed and easy to use without spillages. Provision of a dog-shower is a welcome touch for muddy days.
The restaurant and bar (open only on Friday and Saturday evenings out of season) had a good atmosphere with excellent food and service, all at reasonable prices. All the campsite staff we met were helpful, friendly and seemed to know the area well.
The location so close to open moorland makes this site probably the best for walks on Dartmoor.
As dog-owners we would have liked a fenced-in area where we could let our inquisitive dog off the lead to play without fear of him chasing wildlife and getting lost on the moor or possibly worrying livestock, and that's the only reason we give 9/10 for Facilities. Dogs must stay on-lead on the site.
We look forward to being able to stay here again.

8 of us booked to stay over at langstone manor with 6 dogs in the glamping pods. We found the campsite to be excellent for accommodating us and the dogs.
They seemed to have everything we needed even down to an area where you could wash the dog.
The campsite leads directly on to pew tor which is amazing for walking. If your after a great place with friendly staff, dog friendly, and great facilities amongst the quietness and wildlife then I would thoroughly recommend langstone manor.

I chose this site to explore the western edge of Dartmoor and was not disappointed.
Very friendly staff, immaculate site with a mixture of accommodation, statics, apartments, pods, camping; was a bit worried that it was going to be a 'holiday centre', but totally the opposite. Very quiet, very 'green'. Lots of nature, natural hedging, recycling, nature information boards.
For dog lovers, lots of poo bins and free poo bags.
For pastry lovers, freshly cooked croissants for breakfast.
For pub lovers a very good on site club house.
And for us walkers direct access onto the moors and lovely wooded valleys with the most amazing wild flowers.
Enjoy!

Arrived here a little frazzled late afternoon. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Had been put off by 'holiday park' title but no need as it was a low key, peaceful and eco friendly site. In 5 minutes you are on the moors.
Facilities excellent.

We last visited many years ago and we're so glad we have made a return visit - it is still as good as before only better! We will be returning many more times now that we are retired.
Facilities are first class as described in other reviews, it is quiet and laid back with very few rules - you can even site your unit any way you like, no white post to bully you!
We love being close to the moor so that a wide variety of walks are on your doorstep, and Tavistock is not far away either.
Langstone Manor is a brilliant chill out site with food and drink there if you want it - we love the picnic tables too!

We stumbled on this site whilst being dropped off for a walk on Whitchurch moor. We were, at the time, staying on the nearby Tavistock CCC site. Plans changed which meant we needed to stay an extra night after we had left our old site and this was the first choice in our mind.
Jamie at reception was an absolute delight, from the first phone call to check if they could take us, to meeting him in person when we booked in. He could not have been more lovely or more helpful. The site is beautifully kept with first class bathroom facilities, there is even a dog shower outside! Unlike the CCC site they have a motorhome service facility (we were stunned that the CCC site did not!) which again is set up to make life easy. Fantastic.
The pitch was pretty level and had lovely views (although weather wasn't great) and something else we always love is our own little picnic bench. Great idea. The site was quiet, before the easter rush, and we were allowed to go wherever we liked. Again unlike the CCC site, it was lovely and peaceful with just the sound of the birds and the wind. You can also walk directly onto dartmoor from here as well as into Tavistock itself (check out East Gate cafe near the river - great food and service).
We will most definitely be back. One night was not long enough. They have a decent season too, we missed seeing it open as I had searched for sites open all year. This site is open from 15th March to 1st November so longer than most. Access is pretty good, although the lane looks narrow there are lots of places for passing and we didn't encounter anyone either way.
Thank you Jamie for accommodating us and making us feel so welcome. We look forward to visiting you again soon!
