I booked over the phone with a polite and helpful staff member.
On arrival the site was very quiet; only a few other vans. The lady at reception was friendly, helpful, assisting with taxi details. We were given a large pitch which was lovely slate aggregate above traditional 'hardcore' - superb attention to detail as this was quiet, comfortable with bare feet and pleasing to look at. The site is in a magic rural location, a short drive from Tavistock but in the heart of the moor. The washroon facilities were simply perfect, spotless and fully functional and maintained to a very high standard. Really very very good. Just can't wait to go back.
The site is actually on a slope, which gives great views, there is a children's play area - enough to keep them happy for an hour or two here or there. All very good - a delightful stay on a lovely site.

We had a lovely 10 days here. The site is reached by turning off the main Tavistock to Princetown road onto a narrow road for a mile or so, there are passing places and we have never encountered a problem here but driving a bit slower and being aware is probably wise as other drivers can come along these lanes quickly
The first area as you enter the site has mobile homes on it, nicely sited and tucked away surrounded by trees and gardens, some to rent and some owned as holiday homes. We had stayed in one of these a couple of years ago and were delighted with it. There are also cottages to let and flats in and adjoining the main manor house. This is ideal if you have extended family eg grand parents who prefer not to camp. There are also some camping pods which looked great.
The site has three main areas for camping, a 'hidden' shady area, a walled garden and a terraced area with beautiful views, there are some hard standing pitches in each of these areas. All the pitches were flat, and were a variety of sizes. Even though there had been lots of rain before we visited, the pitches had all coped. The wardens were very helpful and friendly and looked after the site well.
Langstone Manor has a safe protected feel. The walks from the site are great, you can leave the car at the site and be on the moor in minutes. Its a brilliant site for dog owners, there isn't a dog walk on site but you are only a short walk from the lane outside. A nice touch was doggy waste bags and bins at the two entrances/exits.
The Toilet block was immaculately clean all the time with large roomy showers, vanity basins and toilets, in the cooler months it is heated. There was also a separate bathroom for a small charge (you get key from reception) which is ideal when you have children. There is a separate washing up room and laundry room. The Laundry room had one hand washing sink (small charge for hot water) and two washing machines and tumble dryers, can't remember exact charge for these but it was reasonable. Iron also available.
The manor house has a bar and meals are available, there is a large room with lots of books local information etc and board games. There is no late evening noise on site. There is a wooden built children's play area with bark floor in the middle of the mobile home area which is suitable for younger children but is not in an area where you could watch your children if camping. This site is ideal for all age groups, most of those staying when we visited were adults who like walking and the outdoor lifestyle, or just sitting outside their unit relaxing enjoying the views and peace and quiet. The weekend saw more families arrive for weekend camping trips.
Nearest shops are at Tavistock, which is a nice small market town. There are lots of places to visit from this site, some good National Trust properties close by. But best of all the wonderful moors.
We are looking forward to our next visit.

The campsite is on the edge of Dartmoor. You only have to walk 5 minutes up the road and you are on the open moor. A fantastic location for walking!
The pitches are level and I had a picnic bench on my pitch, which was a nice addition. I didn't feel that there was much privacy between the pitches where I was, but there were other areas of the site where there were more secluded areas - and I had asked for a sunny pitch!
The dishwashing facilities are clean and well equipped, with bowls and draining racks and plenty of hot water.
Similarly, the toilet and shower block was clean and well equipped, with hand soap provided at the sinks.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming to me and my dog. There are poo bins and bags at the entrances to the site and several people seemed to have a dog with them. Dogs must be kept on a lead on the site.
The bar was a welcome place to go in the evening as it was quite chilly to be sitting outside. The food was freshly cooked and served hot. I also took advantage of the ordering service where you can order baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolat at the reception or the bar, which you collect from the reception the following morning - very useful when you realise you have forgotten to bring the bread with you. The shop at the reception also sold a few basics.
In summary, it was a very friendly, small site which I would recommend if you are looking for a quiet location.

Stayed at Langstone Manor for four nights with my wife and two children (2 and 6) his August. Pitch sizes are large and are designed in a terraced (stepped) fashion in the area we stayed.
The pitches were completely flat and well drained and ours came with it's own picnic table which was great as we didn't take our own table. Water points are dotted all over the site and never more than 20 seconds away.
The site is also very environmentally friendly, with various recycling bins and a recycling system re-using grey water.
Toilet block and showers were immaculate as was the dishwashing room. There's also a family batchroom which is great as our two year old hates showers.
The site has a bar which serves food between 19:00 and 21:00. Didn't have food there and only popped in for one beer whilst we were there. There's a games room (pool, air hockey and table football) and a huge number of board games and books to keep you occupied.
For younger children there's a small park, which was fine for our two, older kids may get a touch bored if you plan to spend days on the camp site (unless they're into the outdoors in which case it's perfect).
Dartmoor is on the doorstep, Tavistock is 5 minutes away with a Morrisons, Co-Op and daily market. There's an old ice cream van (Willy's) parked outside the town hall on occasion which serves the best Devonshire ice cream I've tasted.
I'd go back to Tavistock for an ice cream alone! Plymouth is 20 minutes away with the Barbican and Hoe a must on a sunny day. There are loads of National Trust type places in the vicinity and decent beaches are only 40 minutes away.
All in all a fantastic site with great facilities and friendly staff. We'll be back for a longer visit next year!

Stayed at Langstone Manor for a 4 night break, in one of their caravans. What a great place! The caravan was first class, and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Site has everything you need for a lovely holiday in fantastic surroundings. The surrounding area has many places of interest, we visited Princetown which was a pleasant short run over the moors, then the following day we took a little train ride into Looe which was most enjoyable. Tavistock itself is a little gem of a place with interesting shops and nice pubs and restaurants. Can't wait to return in September.

Yet again Langstone came up trumps. WE were here at the start of a soaking Bank Holiday Jubilee weekend for 2 nights. Our pitch was perfect, we had a super meal in the bar on night 2 and the facilities were so clean and well cared for.
The toilet block has been upgraded, with massive showers and great laundry and washing up facilities. Although the showers are great, I have a sneaky nostalgia for the delightful pink bathrooms of last year, they just seemed more 'special'.
The staff here are so helpful and friendly, especially the lady with the short hair, whose name escapes me. She is always smiling and seems on duty 24/7. We love it here, you can't beat it.

Langstone Manor is a fantastic site set in the national park, the site has views that are amazing. We walked taking one of the many walking routes directly from the site on to the tors. The site is away from any major road and is set in peaceful surroundings. We received a friendly welcome.
The new amenities block was just being completed, it is amazingly clean has modern facilities, washing up, laundry and men's & women's wash rooms.
The bar and restaurant were not open during our visit so we did not see inside the manor house. We enjoyed visiting Princetown which about 7 miles away it is a lovely moorland town we particularly enjoyed the Fox Tor Cafe which has a great menu and is licensed. We also enjoyed the Old Police House Cafe which serves freshly fried fish and chips as well as a full varied menu.
We would recommend the Langstone Manor is has statics, pods, apartments as well as pitches for tents and caravans and campers both grass and hardstandings so something for everyone.
We stayed for two nights and enjoyed our stay at this pretty site, we will return and hopefully stay longer.

We have been visiting Langstone Manor for almost 40 years by tent, trailer tent and statics, from its humble origins to the terrific site it has now become.
It is quite easily the best site around Dartmoor and West Devon for all types of holiday accommodation it has to offer.
There is a good bar serving meals with adjacent games room, laundry and excellent toilet and shower block.
Unusually for a campsite, virtually all waste is recycled.
If you want absolute peace and quiet literally on the edge of Dartmoor, a spotlessly clean site, first class amenities and welcoming staff, then this is the place for you at any time throughout its open season.

We stayed at Langstone Manor for 7 nights. It is a lovely, quiet site which excellent facilities.
The manor house also has a bar and lounge area with games and residents are welcome to spend time in there - very useful if the weather isn't so good.
My only complain would be that our pitch was a little on the small size and it was completely overshadowed with trees which meant that we didn't get much sunshine.
They could also do with another washing machine and tumble drier.
Otherwise a fab campsite and the staff could not have been more helpful.

Back a week from spending 12 great days at Langstone.
Wonderful site with spotlessly clean ablution facilities and pot wash area and helpful, friendly staff. We were booked for 10 days and stayed for 12.
The pub is very family friendly and we spent a fun evening enjoying a lovely meal and teaching the granddaughter to play Monopoly - the real thing which was a find!
Fresh baked croissants, and baguettes in the morning are a great touch.
We will be back
