This site is set in the beautiful area of Dartmoor.
We only stayed at this site as a stop off on our way down to Cornwall and were only there for 13 hours however on arrival we were greeted warmly with information on the site and were taken down to our pitch which was on a terrace due to the slope of the site. The pitch was adequate for our set up although the site felt cramped where we were.
The facilities were excellent with a modern and clean block which had 3 showers in the ladies with 1 housing a toilet and basin. There were plenty of washing up sinks and a separate laundry room.
The only gripe was that it was a little noisy at night with comings and goings of cars and loud talkers but this is more down to inconsiderate others.

Stayed for six nights in our tourer, with our dog, at this excellent site.
The site is quite remote and accessed by narrow roads - so be careful to follow access advice on the website. The reception will probably not be open, but this isn't a problem as there is an intercom on the door and someone is just a few seconds away.
The camping/touring section is divided into two areas, neither too big, both of which are mainly grass but with hard standing. Grass pitches are quite small, several campers had to park their cars away from the pitch, but we managed to shoehorn our car, van and awning onto our pitch (grateful for motor mover) with a bit of grass left over for bbq or just sitting in the sun. Hard standings are more generous and more easily accessed (but we prefer grass).
All pitches are well-placed for the excellent and modern toilet/shower/Elsan facilities, always scrupulously clean and looked after by very pleasant and hard-working wardens. Showers are a very good size and free.
The site is based around a manor house which has a games room, and a further spacious family/sitting room (which has wi-fi for £2 per stay). In addition is a basic but comfy bar, which opens from 7 - 9. 30 each evening and sells a good range of booze, including excellent Dartmoor Ales (served by the same cheery wardens, who do work hard). Food is served in the bar and in the family room during bar opening hours. The menu offers a good range of favourite English fayre at very reasonable prices, from curries and lasagne to ham or beef puddings, with desserts in the same style.
Dogs are allowed everywhere (apart, reasonably from a children's play area) so long as they are well-behaved and on a leash.
Children have an excellent fenced, grassy play area with assorted climbing frames and swings, though campers can't monitor it from their pitches (except for statics)
While the site isn't very close to anywhere, Plymouth is 9 miles away and Tavistock only 3. From the site you are straight onto Dartmoor and some excellent walking, with many picturesque villages within half an hour's drive (and also very good pubs, all dog-friendly).
This site is a real find and well-priced. We would dfinitely stay again when in the area.

Great well kept site with choice of hard standing or grass pitches, spotless facilities and most helpful, cheerful and welcoming staff. Games room open daily and bar serves good food all week in high season.
Really handy for driving or by foot into Tavistock and right on the edge of Dartmoor for good walking.

We spent 9 nights here. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless, the pitch was large and private.
We didn't use the bar as it was only open for a few hours at the weekend.
Access to Dartmoor is literally on the doorstep, just a walk up the lane and there you are. This, our dog loved. The site is beautiful, well kept and very quiet, the staff cannot do enough to ensure your stay is perfect.
Now for access. Don't be put off.
We towed an ACE award tristar 4 berth caravan for the first time, to this site and we are newby towers.
As advised by Langstone Manor when booking. DO NOT FOLLOW THE SAT NAV directions if you are towing. Carry on to just outside Tavistock.
We had no problems as there are pull ins most of the way when taking this route and it is pretty quiet and wide enough.
Really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return

It's a lovely campsite with excellent facilities. The toilets and showers are modern and very clean, and the site is very well laid out with lots of information on signs as well as helpful and knowledgeable staff in the camp shop. I was particularly please to see proper recycling facilities and there are picnic benches and BBQ slabs for most pitches. The bar and games room is lovely, and the whole place has a great welcoming atmosphere. I'm looking forward to finding an excuse to visit again!

The website gives the impression that this is a much bigger 'holiday park' than it actually is. This suited us well, because we don't really like these very big concerns. There is a small area of statics at the site entrance, but then you come to three smallish areas for the use of tourers and tents. Two are flat and the one we stayed on was sloping, but very well terraced. We were in the top pitch, with fabulous views down over the moorland. There was one other caravan near the bottom of the field and the management were kind enough to leave our view uninterrupted for most of our stay, despite lots of comings and goings.
The facilities were very good, with a large central block, well screened with vegetation, containing three toilets and showers for each sex, a private, disabled friendly bathroom, a laundry and washing up facilities. All were spotlessly clean at all times, hot water was freely available, and the ladies bathroom had a hair drier, which is always useful. I believe, however, that hot water is on a meter in the private bathroom.
In addition, there is a social hub called the manor. More a big house than a manor and a little shabby (or relaxed, if you prefer), this contained a bar and restaurant and a large lounge with widescreen TV and board games. The bar and restaurant was only open at the weekends with restricted hours and we did not eat there, but the food being served looked like good pub grub and lots of people were taking advantage of it. The football was on when we went in for a drink, but on subsequent occasions it was not, so they obviously only put it on for specific events, not as a general background noise, which is nice.
There is wifi in the manor and you can get the code by donating two pounds to charity. However, don't expect to be able to stream movies or music. I don't think broadband has reached Langstone Manor yet!
They are very keen on recycling and make it very easy to do, which is helpful.
The team were friendly and helpful and it was nice to be able to order baked goods for collection in the morning. We had freshly baked coissants on two mornings of our stay.
The site was very well located, with opportunities to walk on the moor from the gate. There were no pubs or shops very nearby, but we had a lovely drink in the gardens of the Two Bridges Inn, a short drive up the main road, past the turnoff for Princetown. They also do good cream teas.
Access with a large outfit would, I think be a bit scary, as the roads are very narrow and I dread to think what would happen if two large caravans met going in opposite directions on some of them. However, if you don't follow your satnav and go the way suggested, there is only a short stretch where this would be a problem.
Generally, a well located, well run campsite.

Langstone is a lovely quiet site, with good views and an excellent location for getting up onto the Moor, which is the main draw for us. Facilities are very clean, staff friendly. We have stayed several times and only discovered the bar for the first time this time(limited openings). They serve a small range of bar snacks-ideal for campers, wet evenings, and if you don't want to drive to go out to eat.

What a site whether you're camping caravaning or staying in a living van, pod or cottage this site excels itself with the level of service, standards of the pitches, topography of the site and the facilities.
The addition of the games room, lounge and bar in the manor house, the ability to have a cooked meal in the evening at a reasonable price is great.
We enjoyed our week her and will be back in the future

We only had one week so rather than tow our van the 300 miles from Preston we decided to hire a static van. The price was very reasonable compared to that of a nearby site I checked out. The van was very well equipped, apart from a hair dryer. Each room had heating, important in Autumn. The site is sloping so anyone with mobility issues ask for a van in the top row. The shop and bar are at the top of the site. You need to go to the shop daily to get bread freshly baked. I liked the way the statics are all named after one of the Dartmoor Tors. If you arrive at the weekend; meals are available in the dog- friendly bar. This was very cosy being on the ground floor of the characterful house. I found the lighting too low for reading, as one or two lone campers were doing. If you are here for the beer, then try the local Jail Ale, brewed at Princetown. My interesting find this visit was the industrial archaeology of the Tamar Valley. Along with Tavistock a World Heitage Site owing to the copper and tin mining. Cyclists can use an old tram line from the Tamar Trails Centre near Gunnislake. Bikes can be hired here. You can also walk along the River from Cotehele Quay (National Trust)to Calstock where there is a fine pub and a dramatic viaduct. A very informative booklet of walks is available. I got mine from the camp site shop. This is a good place to go for campers who can't camp, as it does not have the soulless feel of a static site. Overall a beautiful site in a fascinating area, well recommended.

This is a beautiful site in an idyllic location. Although off the beaten track, the access is good and well-signposted. On arrival we had a very friendly welcome from the warden and our pitch was superbly located with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. There is a lot of attention to detail and there is a commitment to preserving the environment and encouraging wildlife. The toilet block was really good with large (if very hot. ) showers. I was taken ill during our stay and the wardens couldn't have been more helpful sorting taxis to the hospital etc. Walks on to Dartmoor are literally at the gate of the site. We would certainly go back again if in the area. Excellent value for money, too. A real gem.
