Just came back from spending Easter weekend there and can say was a bit dubious from reading the previous reviews. This site has real potential and with a little bit of maintenance it could be greatly improved!
When we got there we were welcomed by a member of staff although that was probably the only time we saw them! The toilet block was on the tad chilly side (as previously mentioned it was well ventilated) but kept relatively clean although other half did mention that a used contraceptive was left discarded in the men's toilet block which had been from Saturday night until we left - although think this should be down to the person who left it there! Also in the ladies there was a tendency to leave cigarette butts in the sinks - think this may have been due to the rather noisy group of youngsters on Saturday night which got louder with the more alcohol they had and running around banging on tents/awnings.
Our pitch was rather on a slope although looking around we have picked out the flatter of pitches for next time... Yes next time..
This for us is a campsite we will use again, although only as an adult camp we wouldn't take the children there, as the facilities for the children are poor.
Recommendations would be have a general maintenance around, a lick of paint here and there and a regular tidy up... There is great potential in the site - make the most of it! and also don't kid yourself about the sea view - it can only be seen from the site office - not sure about the conservatory as it wasn't in use yet...

Bizzare is the only word our little group of seasoned campers could come up with to describe our experience of this site. On arrival everything was locked up with a phone number plastered up everywhere to ring to book in. (We had booked months ago via the internet and were looking forward to the advertised on site bar, and meals in the conservatory with our children, overlooking the sea, etc...) The cheery lady who answered our call to book in said they were running two sites and would try and 'get over at some point if they could'.
We bounced around the small site on the horrifically potholed 'road' until we reached our pitch. It contained a massive, recently damaged upturned awning being weighted down with a large brick, some ripped tenting, a bowl, a hairbrush and a toothbrush amongst other things. The adjacent pitch was littered with rubbish, amongst which we identified a glass ashtray, a pen and a bag of rubbish.
We parked up for a while as it was raining and pondered the awning thrashing about in the storm. When the rain cleared we had a quick scout around and realising the site had many vacancies, so we attempted to ring the aforementioed number to speak about the pitch and ask could we move? No-one answered after many attempts, so we decided to move anyway, not wanting the awning to hit our unit as the wind was getting up. We found a nice flat pitch and claimed it as ours. Other bemused people were arriving at the site, banging on doors and peering through windows in these first few hours onsite. We met one family who had been there a number of days and seen no one from SeaCroft...
During the course of our two night stay it became very clear that other than an occasional drive around from a blue land rover, no-one appeared to be running this site. Commercial Vans were staying on the site, despite signs saying they would be turned away.
The washing up area, toilets and laundry were not being cleaned. **At all.** The toilet block was a particular problem - the weather was unseasonally cold fair enough- there is no heating in there at all, but all the windows are open in it including the ceiling velux windows. Our 4 year old started to go blue with cold on one occasion when we took him in there to use the toilet before bedtime! Windows in the ladies and mens toilets were cracked and broken, and one particularly unfortunate broken window in the mens block was not boarded up the three days we were there. The fence around the pool is collapsing, the shed with the freezer in it had broken panels and smashed glass...
It goes without saying that we couldn't really see the sea from anywhere on site, unless you stood in the road at the entrance! It may be possible to glimpse the sea from the conservatory, but we never got in to any of the buildings to find out. A particular pain was no onsite shop meant a 20 minute roundtrip walk to get milk etc...
It's a real shame, as this site has great potential - it looks as if someone spent some money on it twenty years ago, but not really since. The pitches are pleasant and we had a couple of lovely evenings sitting around chatting etc... just the feeling you are on the Marie Celeste can't be shaken off! In all seriousness though, we did wonder to ourselves where the owners would stand if there was an accident on this site or what the local authorities who licence the site would make of such abandonment...!
Anyway, we had a nice time, but none of that was really down to the site and it's owners! Make it safe and keep it clean is our advice. We'll pop our heads in next time we are passing and see if things have changed... but for the time being we're going to camp elsewhere.

Whitsun Bank Holiday 2004 We are a family of four with two boys aged 3 yrs and 10 months so our priorities are quite specific and may, no doubt, differ from yours. Check in procedures were efficient and friendly with staff able and willing to answer our questions easily. Our pitch was rather snug for a 21 foot caravan and awning. There were larger pitches but none were available due to the busy weekend etc. The children’s park equipment is in need of some investment and work, although the field area was spacious and ideal for games. The swimming pool was pleasant and clean and very popular with the children. Paths were gravel and not best for small trikes and there wasn’t a parent and toddler bathroom, which is always welcome with small children to prepare for bed. The toilet/shower blocks were reasonably clean although on a busy weekend such as this, more regular cleaning would have made things more comfortable for everybody. The bar area was good and the children’s entertainer enabled Mum and Dad to quaff a couple of drinks in peace before bedtime! The shop was adequate. The claim that the site has sea views is a little tenuous, although the lovely beach was only a short walk away. We had a great weekend, thoroughly enjoying what Cromer and Sherringham had to offer. With so many good sites on offer, we will not be rushing back to Seacroft but completely understand that others will.

Spring Bank Holiday 2004 We are a family of four (two boys, 3 years and 9 months) so our priorities and requirements may vary from yours! This site is attractive, although felt quite cramped (Bank holiday; to be expected!) We have a 21 foot caravan and awning and found the pitches to be rather snug, to say the least. Gravel paths made trike riding difficult and there wasn't a baby and toddler room for bath time. The play equipment in the park is in need of some serious attention & investment and was a disappointment to our intrepid three year old. Showers and toilet facilities could have been attended more regularly , given the numbers on site but were reasonable. On the positive side, the small shop was useful and the bar area pleasant. Children's entertainer was amusing (mmmm) and kept the littlies busy while Mums and Dads snurgled a couple of swifties! Overall, we had a good weekend but think we'll delay a return visit until the boys are older. Cromer is an easy walk and very pleasant place to spend time. The beach is lovely.

August 2003 Having now arrived back after a two weeks stay we feel we must add to the overall comments of the other recent campers. The pitch for our large tent on arrival was found to be quite small and had two concrete hard standings sunk into the ground for caravan wheels. In addition there was a public access gate for dog walking within the pitch, which would have resulted in people literally walking through our guy lines everytime they wanted to walk their dog! On complaining we were told that we should have never been given the pitch and the person making the booking should have known better. Although there was general sympathy with our problem it was some while before one of the young staff toured the campsite herself to check pitch availability. A solution was found in another pitch far better suited, that evidently, we should have been booked on all the time?
Clubhouse and restaurant seemed fine and did a good range of food, although their claim that the new conservatory overlooks the sea is only just true as in fact the campsite is on the opposite side of the road to the coast. Pitches in general seemed quite small, although easy to drive pegs into and attractively divided by bushes and trees. Again the claim that fine sea views can be seen from most parts of the park is rather stretching the truth. Toilet facilities were in our opinion too small for the number of pitches, especially with only four showers in each. We also thought the cleaning should have been done at least twice a day to maintain some sort of standard, although in all fairness to the site the campers themselves could have made a bit more effort to not make so much mess.
The children's play area was quite sparse and in need of improvement. The pool was good, although whilst we were there the staff did have to arrange a timetable of use so that the little children and adults could have some time to themselves each day. The communial chest freezer for campers ice-blocks was a good idea and was available at anytime, but spoilt again by people trying to keep their own loose food/drinks in it.
Despite our intial problem with the pitch though we did have a really good time at this site and with the beach and Cromer town literally minutes walk away we enjoyed two good weeks of good weather and camping.
Just always check out these reviews first folks as you can't always believe the brochures!

12th August 2003 We arrived late and the site was full apart from one pitch. The staff were friendly and approachable. The pitch was fine and roomy although due to it being full seemed cramped with all the young children running about. With the children screaming, mobile phones and car alarms it wasn't the most peaceful night I've spent in a tent. Overall, good for families and off peak, for people who want a good nights sleep.

MAY 03 Site/pitches remind me somewhat of a french site, possibly municipal, possibly 3 star. Nice use of trees and shrubs. V. Good sanitary block.
Also bar, restaurant, reasonable prices, live entertainment when we were there too. ( 2 man band, one looked like tony blair, the other like robin cooks dad! )
Probably the site that we have most enjoyed in the uk !!

August 2003 Echoing MO's views really - the site was very different to our expectations.
Pitch (although slightly cramped) and clubhouse were fine
Shower facilities were poor - 4 showers each in male and female blocks (although there are a couple in the clubhouse that are worth knowing about as not may people do!)
Also, was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the showers and toilets - cleaning once per day at 6am is not enough for a busy site - if you were not in and out by 7-ish it was not a pleasant experience.
Swimming pool smaller than appeared on literature - nice to have but very crowded indeed. Finally on the moan front, the kids play area could do with an overhaul.

July 2003
We chose this campsite mainly because of the reviews we had read.I must say we were disappointed.
The pitches were a nice size & level. The pool was warm although much smaller than we expected after lookins at the photos on the web site(with a few inflatables it was crowded). We were surprised to find just four showers each, in the toilet block and were happy not to be there when the site was full.
The staff we did see were not the happy smiley people we had expected. We were told our pitch number & had to go & see if it was vacant because they didn't know.
The playing field was big but there was only swings & a slide in the park area.
This review probably makes us sound picky & fussy but at £22.20 per night we expected a lot lot more! We have been on better sites for far less.

April 2003 This is a very clean & friendly campsite, the pitches are spacious and enclosed by various shrubs, (giving you a little extra privacy) Toilets & shower block are cleaned very well every morning.
The site has a good bar, staff even know how to pour a decent pint of Tetley's (sorry, had to mention it!)
Altogether, a well run, friendly place a mile out of Cromer itself!
Well Recommended!
