This site is an excellent location for exploring the Island of Mull; the majority of the island's attractions are less than 45mins away at most. Craignure itself has a basic shop for essentials and an excellent Inn that I highly recommend. The ferry terminal is literally within walking distance, and this is certainly convenient.
However, I felt that the facilities were fairly basic. Sheiling tents might be a unique selling point, but they are far from ideal when all you want is a warm shower block. There is a brick building with showers, and if you go, use this one! The Sheilings weren't pleasant. Unfortunately there are only two male, two female, showers in each.
If you are camping, you'll need a mallet to get the pegs in as the surface is quite like astroturf. Customer service was average.
For £25 you get great views and a good location, but not much else in terms of facilities. We'd probably go there again but only because I'd rather be there than somewhere less conveniently located.

What a super site. Very clean, well set out, right on the sea front. We were fortunate to watch sea otters from our motorhome which was a great treat. Nice walks along the beach and good fishing in the bay. Great local store and charity shop, full and interesting items. Friendly hosts. Very impressed for our first visit to Mull - we will certainly be back.

We chose this site because it is convenient for the ferry terminal after a long journey. We were allocated a pitch with plenty of space in front for the children to play and as cars must be parked in designated parking bays we weren't worried about them running around. The owners were friendly and helpful both when we booked and when we asked to extend our stay.
I found the use of white PVC for the facilities highly innovative and original. The eco friendly clothes driers really do work, even in the drizzle and the showers and toilets were
No flimsier than more conventional constructions. They might be a bit chilly outside the summer months though.
There is a Spar nearby as well as a pub and a road house which does Take Away pizza as well as being a convenient place to drink coffee whilst waiting for the ferry. Tobermory (or Ballamory if you have a 4 year old with you) is not far away and it is possible to visit many of the islands attractions from here.
The children enjoyed the small playground just outside the site entrance. We enjoyed watching the ferries come in and out and the ever changing weather over the bay. This is a well organised site with idiosyncrasies that give it memorable charm.

This was the strangest campsite I’ve ever been to. There was white tarpaulin everywhere. They have taken their use of tarpaulin canvas to the extreme. I better explain!
There were two toilet/shower blocks, one made of brick and the other made out of tarpaulin canvas !
The brick building didn’t contain enough toilets/showers for the amount of people wanting to use them, therefore there were queues. The toilet doors and sides were not long enough, you could have got in and out under them, they stopped at knee height – weird and not really pleasant when you can recognise who is in the toilet next to you!
The toilet/shower block made out of tarpaulin was not pleasant to use at all, they were so cold as there was no heating and you were open to the elements. Tarpaulin was used for everything and I mean everything, the toilet roll even hung on a holder made from tarpaulin, there were pockets made out of tarpaulin to put your toiletries in when in the shower. The shower was lined with tarpaulin (I wonder was there dodgy tiling beneath). Everything was hanging on frames of tarpaulin. When in the shower you could almost think you had been abducted and were in some alien place waiting to be operated on. It was very clinical.
There was a dishwashing area, again made out of tarpaulin on frames, behind the toilet/shower block made from brick. It was freezing too.
I was looking forward to the games room but there was nothing in it (apart from a tv) and the games room again was made of tarpaulin and too cold to be in, there was a microwave located in this tarpaulin and a few sinks.
The good thing about this site is its location, it was central and they had tarpaulin tents which were open at both ends which you could dry clothes in, showers were free and so was the fridge/freezer.
I wouldn’t go back to this site again, I felt it was too commercial and expensive.

This a great site, a stones throw away from the ferry - the tannoy of which may wake you each morning!
The facilities are very new, clean and tidy, all the pitches are hardstanding although some couldn't take anything bigger than a medium motorhome/caravan.
Theres a great walk on the shore towards the castle, looking across to Ben Nevis! On site is a narrow gauge railway to the castle.
Craignure has a local shop, dog friendly pub which does food, and a bus stop for travel to other towns. We took the bus to Tobermory - well worth a visit. The roads are very narrow in places so take care if taking the camper out for the day!
The site has a good info section and free wifi.
Great site gorgeous location, excellent facilities.

Chose this site due to its location and near to ferry terminal. Friendly welcome on arrival and allocated a pitch right on the front overlooking the shoreline - saw otters on several occasions and seals without getting out of the van! Grey herons were also seen on the rocks.
The site was quiet for Easter with only a few other motorhomes, 1 caravan and a few folk stopping in the sheilings so no queues for the showers etc. All facilities are clean and well maintained with recycling bins on site.
As previously mentioned the Craignure Inn is a few minutes walk from the site with good locally sourced food and not too pricey. Also nearby is a Spar, Tourist info, public toilets, PO and charity shop.
Next to the site is the Mull railway - we used it to go to Torosay castle but found when we got there that they don't allow dogs in the grounds so did the 1 mile walk back through the woods instead.
This is an excellent site to use as a base for the island as you turn left for Iona etc - all single track - or turn right to go up to Salen / Calgary Bay / Tobermory.
Just off the coast at Salen is a large grey seal colony.
Would use this site again as it has everything you need but probably would avoid peak times.

This is a convenient site because of easy access from the ferry terminal. Its facilities are curious as they consist of heavy tarpaulin canvas to divide and provide portable toilet drop off, shower etc.
While the site was clean and views were good we actually wouldn't go again. We have travelled 5 months around Scotland including all the islands west and north.
This site was one of the dearest and other coastal sites on Mull plus wild places offer acceptable alternatives.

Our second visit to this site - and it didn't disappoint - still as wonderful as on our first visit.
Staff on site and in receptions are so helpful and cheerful - 10/10 for them alone.
Toilets / showers kept immaculate - water piping hot all day and heating in block welcome at this time of year.
Views from site are wonderful - we watched sea otters from the comfort of our van.
The island itself has so much to offer - you can easily spend a couple of weeks and not visit everything. Craignure is ideally placed to explore, approx 40 minutes to Tobermory and 1 and 1/2 hours to Iona.
We ate in the Craignure Inn a couple of times - food is wonderful and fairly priced. Spar in Craignure stocks everything you could need - but prices are much higher than on the mainland.
All in all we rate this site as one of the best we have used - we wil visit again and highly recommend to anyone visiting Mull.

We booked this site because of the other reviews listed here. It's true that the PVC bathrooms and common room are slightly odd, but they should not put you off. The site is right next to the Craignure ferry dock so perfect for late arrivals like ourselves. Reception was friendly and helpful. We booked a pitch in the top field and it was well worth it as the views over the Sound of Mull were fantastic and the rest of the site was rather cramped. Our two boys loved watching the ferries come and go as well as the miniature railway. Small children's playground just off site near reception. Pub within walking distance and loads to see and do on Mull. We would definitely go back!

Lovely campsite, can only agree with what others have said. Showers (2 blocks) were always clean and tidy, with warm water. There is also a family shower room. Couple who own the campsite really lovely, will tell you about what there is to see on Mull. We ended up staying another day and David fitted us in no problem. Reception open 8am-8pm. Freezer for your ice blocks common room (there is also a TV and microwave in there).
Campsite very easy to find, with pub and spar shop local, as well as fuel (petrol was 117p a litre when we were there, so try to fill up before you arrive on Mull if possible!) Quiet at night and fantastic views from campsite. Best thing we did whilst there was an all day boat trip with 'Turus mara', saw puffins, seals, dolphins and otters. Beaches near to Fionnphort are beautiful and lots of forestry commission sites to walk on. This campsite is in perfect location for visiting whole island.
Would definitely visit again and make sure you book the ferry over if possible- always seemed ver busy!
