This is my favourite campsite.
Situated only a couple of minutes drive from the ferry, it has wonderful views across to the mainland where you can see waterfalls(in really bad weather you can watch them actually go up!).
The tent pitchs are astro turfed, you wonder why until it rains- then you see the logic!
The toilet block was very clean as were the showers. There is a shieling with a tv inside and a small pool table, good for the kids on really rainy days.
Trish and Dusty who run the site are fantastic people and always on the go.
Due to the severity of the weather when we stayed we were forced to hire a shieling due to being drowned out of our tent, and they're great. Waterproof tents, you still have the camping feel with a basic stove, camp beds, toilet with shower and lighting.
The site is excellent for wildlife too, an otter lives very close by, we saw two stags actually walking through the site on more than one occasion, and porpoises from the harbour.
Given the time and opportunity we would certainly go back.
