May 2005 Just spent the bank holiday here. Graham told us when I rang that there was no need to prebook for non electric and he was right.
The site is heavily wooded as you'd expect but where we were first of all was really shady - the sunnier parts are past the entrance to the forest and on the left.
The reception sells newspapers and icecreams and that's it. We walked into Marlborough - doesn't take long and Somerfield is there - you do have to walk along the A4 at some point tho'!
This site has no toilets but there is a public toilet block in the forest - literally just down the private path to the forest - these are open 8.30 til 6pm and were absolutely fine - all the campsite people seemed to be using them!
This site is also really cheap - the dearest night was £9.20 and there were four of us - you pay a set price and that is for four people - some forest holiday sites are only for two and then you pay for extra people.
All in all we had a good time and this is definitely worth a visit.

May 2005 Once again a really friendly welcome from Graham and Rachel who do there very best to help site users (including helping with tricky awnings!) A peaceful and tidy site with hanging baskets and flowers. A real haven for wildlife and a tranquil place to stay. The children can ride their bikes safely around the site and through the forest. We keep visiting year after year!

May 2005 The site is kept very clean, the few amenities that are on the site are well maintained, however the on site curfew curtails going out of an evening as there is a charge if your not back on site for 10 p.m! Also the proximity of the main road and aircraft noise can be a little anoying.

April 2005 This was our first visit to the site but the camp warden made us feel very welcome. We had a great weekend and before we left booked for a return visit. The site is a good place for walking in the forest, a bbq or just to chill. It does get very busy on the bank holidays so would advise you to book early.

April 2005 Just spent Easter week at this site, was a concerned about staying there (no toilet facilities), but really enjoyed it. Very clean, well kept site, excellent, helpful, friendly site wardens (Rachel and Graham). Well worth visiting.
Plenty of walks in the adjacent Saversnake Forest..
Nearby Marlborough was a delight to visit, also not too far from the Swindon MacArthur Glen Retail outlet!!

sept 2003 Several visits last year. Clean and well maintained site with a very friendly manager (Graham) who was like the Pied Piper with the kids. Great walks/cycle rides through the Savernak Forest. Toilets have been closed this year but it would be worth investing in a porta potti to go there.
