Lovely setting in the middle of the forest. Easy to find and very peaceful. A short walk down into the town of Marlborough where we went for a few drinks! Couldn't get a taxi in the town so walked back through the forest uphill but really wasn't too bad make sure you take a torch. Toilets were clean with plenty of hot water. No showers here but we only stayed for one night. Would return here in the future.

This is a well -run, well-kept, lovely campsite in beautiful surroundings. This is mainly due to all the effort and hard work the wardens - Graham & Rachael - put in. They are friendly, helpful & very hospitable people.
Don't expect a luxury shower block - there isn't one, but the toilets & washing facilities are very clean & very tidy. There is a mixture of pitches with & without electric hook-ups, depending on your own preference & how close you want to be to facilities.
Miles and miles of forest trails are on your doorstep & if you time it right (as we did) you can go on a 'bat walk' one night. All this, and only a mile from the lovely town of Marlborough. I thoroughly recommend this site.

Stayed at Postern Hill over the May bank holiday weekend, which was very wet and windy! However this is a lovely site. Registration was quick and the staff friendly, with the added bonus of being able to choose our own pitch. Marlborough town is a short walk away and has all the facilities you could need. The toilet block was clean and satisfactory with washing-up sinks and hot water to the rear. We loved staying so near to the forest, the site is noncommercial, relaxed and and peaceful, we are hoping to return in a few weeks time when the weather may be kinder!

A lovely quiet site, set at the edge of Savernake Forest where there are plenty of walks. It is about a 15/20 minute walk downhill into Marlborough, where you can get everything you need. This is also where the nearest pub is. The toilets and wash basins (no showers) were very clean and well looked after. The warden was very helpful. I would certainly visit again.

Spent 4 nights at this excellent site, very quiet and relaxing. New key code accessed toilet block with hot water to wash basins and wash up sinks, but no showers. All kept clean and tidy. A woodland site with grassy areas throughout, mostly level ground. Electric hookups were a little busy due to use on seasonal pitches, but a long lead sorted that. TV reception is very poor here - hence the many satellite dishes scattered around. Overall - very recommended.

What a lovely relaxing holiday at the Postern Hill Caravan Site, great surroundings, lots of wild life and access to wonderful forest walks. We had stayed once before just overnight so had not had chance to explore the countryside, also no toilet block at that time, so it was nice to see the toilet block open on this occasion. The warden was very helpful when we had a slight problem and also very informative about local places to visit. We hope to return again next year for a longer stay and look forward to seeing Graham and Rachael again.

I stopped off here for 1 night on the way home, the site is set in the Savenake forest just outside Marlborough. A very sheltered Forestry Commission site with plenty of Forest walks to keep you occupied - a lovely setting. This site has washing up and toilet facilities (not as shown on the Forest holidays Website) so do not be put off. It however does not have shower facilities or a shop but Marlborough is very close with all the shops you need. I would return but without a shower it would only be for a couple of nights.

We spent six days at this site in August and it was absolutely brilliant clean tidy and above all quiet plenty of space apart from around the ehu points could be a bit congested. The site does have its own toilets now which had just opened before we arrived and they were kept spotless. It also has two sinks with hot water for washing up. The trip into Marlborough was an easy one using the footpath at the back of the campsite and took only 20 mins with two young kids. Overall a lovely site to stay on and I will certainly be going back

Could not find fault in either of our two visits to here in 2005. Even the weather was good!
The first thing to remember is that there are no toilet facilities on the site, but you can use the ones in the forest as mentioned.
There are plently of pitches to chose from, its a case parking where you fancy as long as your lead reaches the EHU. In busy time the warden will check that you are the required 6m from another unit.
Some of the better areas are already taken by the seasonal caravans.
The walk to Marlbourgh is enjoyable, but it is all uphill on the way back. At night time it is best to get a taxi to drop you off.
Could not fault the site for value for money. Plenty to see and do, or just sit back and watch the world go by.

August 2005 First time we have spent a weekend here for some years. The need for your own sanitation now the toilet block has been closed has removed the groups of youths who previously frequented this site on summer weekends making it now very tranquil. The site is set in open woodland with plenty of space for everyone although the EHU’s seem quite cramped. The gate is locked at 10pm and there is a £10 entrance fee after this time. There is plenty of wildlife on the site we were visited by a deer in the late evening when the adjacent picnic area had closed. A very pleasant area we will certainly visit again.
