Phoned to book pitch, person I spoke to was very helpful. Arrived mid afternoon, checked on the warden's door to see which pitch I was on. Pitched tent, then went back to the warden's office, when she was there, to pay. Warden very friendly and helpful. Nice flat grassy site, with good size pitches. 1 field for non ehu and another for ehus. I found the ground to be quite hard going, so was pleased to have rock pegs. Very sheltered site. It was quite windy when we pitched, but because of the trees around us, it was very sheltered. The pitches are marked with 2 wooden posts with your pitch number on, so it was easy to see where to pitch between these posts. 1 utility room with 2 sinks for washing up and 2 sinks for handwashing clothing. Ladies had 3 toilets and 2 showers, not sure about the mens. Each of the facilities had a code to enter. Nice cafe on site, children enjoyed the icecreams after a lovely walk through the park and round the lake. There was some chatter from the public footpath that runs next to the site, but nothing that stopped us from sleeping, or would deter us from visiting again. Was charged £13.20/night for 1 tent, 1 kitchen tent, 1 adult, 2 children and ehu. Newsagents, Co-op and chip shop about 10 min walk from site.

Just got back from a lovely weekend at this site.
Quiet & peaceful except for some uncontrolled children one day. Flat hard grass just what a campervan needs. All the usual facilities, very clean. Very helpful wardens. Close to city with a bus route at the door. Shops, PO etc. five minute walk.
Wouldn't want to be there on a bank holiday, its always fully booked although the pitches are large for a MH with no awning or second vehicle as with a caravan, pay the same price of course!
Would be ideal midweek.

Stayed on this site for past 4 years. Staff helpful and friendly. Facilities basic but very clean and cafe on site is excellent. Pitches well marked which is useful as we have a 28 foot tent and the pitches can accommodate this easily together with the trailer and car. Very quiet and peaceful site with plenty to do for our 6 year old. She loves the playpark and feeding the ducks and squirrels. We are going again next year.

The site itself is well maintained with basic but clean facilities. The warden was very polite and helpful.
We booked in the campsite for 3 nights, however, noise within the campsite and the adjacent public path was too much to tolerate and we left the morning after. The non-electric pitch seemed a little penned in and are located adjacent to a high rise block of flats - not what you expect from a country park.

This is a small well maintained site with a small but very clean toilet and shower block. It only has two showers (free and very hot) but they seemed to serve the site well, I was never waiting for either. The grounds were lovely and well maintained and it was a pleasure to walk around the lakes. There is a cafe onsite that is very reasonable and the food, especially the breakfast's were excellent. The staff both in the cafe and wardens were very friendly and helpful.
10 mins walk is a chip shop that's open everyday except Sunday, just turn right from the main gates, they were very nice, its near the post office and co-op so supplies not a problem. We walked into Lincoln which took about 35 mins along the road (bike track and path) but buses run every 10 mins No 66.
The flats people mention you can see them but in my opinion are not really noticeable, just one thing the tent pegs only go in about two inches before you hit hard stuff. Had a lovely couple of nights though and we will be back.

Visited this site for the Waddington Air Show at the beginning of July and absolutely loved it. We have a 9 berth dome tent which fitted the pitch no problem at all. We had electric hook up which put us between the caravans instead of in the bottom field but that was no problem at all. Had a good english breakfast at the on site cafe which was very good and not overpriced. Used the local chip shop which was about a 10 minute walk (only because of our kids). The toilet block and showers were great very clean and adeqate.
Have just enquired about booking again for next year.
My only moan if you can call it that was that the ground was extemely hard around the pitch so make sure you have plenty of decent tent pegs.

This was our first visit to this site and it won't be our last. Every thing was fine. Great pitch, lots of room, good facilities and flat. The cafe was well worth a breakfast visit but make sure you can eat well. The mega breakfast is enormouse. The all day breakfast was big enough for anyone. The wardens were friendly and polite. The country park lives up to it's reputation and you can just stroll about if you like getting lost on the many woodland paths that run through it. You really need to like dogs though because the place abounds with them. Seems like the whole of the neighbourhood bring their dogs for a walk here.
We are a long unit twin axle 28foot caravan and, whilst we had no problems getting in, we did getting out. We had to do a three point manouver to get round the bollards at the entrance to the camp site. If you have difficulty reversing and you are a long caravan, you should beware.
We will go back definitely.

Just returned from Hartsholme . . . And what a pleasant experience! The site is only 2 minutes from the main Lincoln ringroad and is well signposted. The other great benefit of this site it that it is inside the country park itself!
The pitches are well spaced with numbers either side of the pitch so you know exactly where to park(no guessing if you go to the left or right!). The warden is on duty at specific times but a plan of who is in what pitch stuck to the door of the office easily allows you to pull up, pitch and relax til the office is open and you can pay. Being run by the city council, they also give you a 24 hour number to call if you need assistance although highly unlikely.
A small site, with just 26 caravan/motorhome pitches and 14 tent pitches, it's a great getaway in middle england with all that Lincoln town centre has to offer just 2 miles down the road by a frequent bus service outside the park or by car. Not the cheapest, especially the £3.30 for an awning per night but certainly very nice, except for an ugly block of flats seen in the distance.
Granted the water pressure is a bit rubbish but we managed a shower both days with no problems at all - in fact better that 75% of other sites I have been to in the last couple of years!
We will definitely be returning to this site in the future.

Lovely place especially if you are into wildlife.
Very well kept gardens pitches and wash block.
Excellent cafe making fresh food on order, and very reasonably priced. Megga breakfast £4.40 and it was megga and hot and fresh.
Wardens very helpful.
Excellent walks.
Only downsides an ugly block of flats at the end of the campsite .So dont look that way.
SHOWERS! although recently tilled and painted and spotlessly clean if someone should flush the toilet you had to jump out the way or be covered in cold water. Hubby had one shower in 3 days because the water only ran long enough to get lathered down then in went off for good!
Would go back, please mr warden get the water pressure sorted.

This was 2nd time this year we have stayed at this site.
We find it to be very good.
We like the fact that its surrounded by lovely trees the facilities are OK,(not great, but OK)
Its handy for buses to Lincoln and there are some nice walks.
The site staff and the park rangers are very helpful.
The site could do with a bit more lighting.
We got late bus back from Lincoln and path from the road was horrible !
We will return
