Stayed here twice this month, lovely site very close to lincoln town centre, but you could be in the middle of nowhere, it feels like that as the country park is so nice & quiet. You get no sound from the housing estate that surrounds it so it has a really secluded feel.
We don't live too far from here and only stayed 2 nights both times, we took no food with us to give the wife a break from cooking and washing up, so the on site cafe for a most filling breakfast for £5, 25, (2 of everything) lincoln city for lunch in a taxi (zoned fares so £4. 80 to anywhere! and worked out cheaper than the bus if going to the cathedral area) then evening meal at the crown and arrows, about a 15 min walk.
Crown and arrow is a hungry horse pub (part of the greene king chain) and specialises in large platefuls of really good food and a good selection of real ales, lagers & wine at excellent prices. Thursday night is free dessert night, we had 2 steak meals, and 2 gigantic desserts, 3 pints of speckled hen and 3 large glasses of wine, the bill was £28. 00, needed the walk back lol.
But yes, everything about the site is great as mentioned by others, the walks through the woodlands and lakes of the park are amazing too. And the most amazing (and very loud) dawn chorus was worth being woken at 4-15 a. M. (light sleeper me).
All in all, we highly reccomend this site for a city visit that is like being in the country.
We have marked the site 8 out fof 10 for facilities as we do like to have wi-fi to check weather/days out etc. I understand that the council are talking about putting this in soon.
But price is good. Caravan, ehu, but no awning £14. 70 per night and free showers

Visited for the bank holiday weekend first of many to the site hopefully. Some lovely walks site was very easy to find.
The warden is a credit to the company, so people focused. Toilets and showers really clean. Would highly recommend.
The site was really quite, it's really close to city centre, we could have walked if it hadn't of been for the rain.
The side we were on, the electric went off but was back on within the hour. Didn't use the cafe but seemed really popular.
Pitch was easy to get on to and they were a good space from the next one.

Just got back from a wet week here, and had a wonderful time. The lady warden had phoned us the morning we left and said don't come because they were waterlogged but we had already left! Whoops! So when we arrived we caused a bit of a stir, but they accommodated us and we were dry in our tent all week.
A lovely site in the country park, next to a huge housing estate, but you wouldn't really know it unless you looked up at the bright pink skyscraper that overlooks the site!
Facilities immaculate, showers very hot, (be warned) and close enough to the city to walk, but a bus stop just a few yards down the road.
Had the site to ourselves (bar a caravan and a small tent, but as we couldn't see them from our tent window they didn't count) for a lot of the week, but was heaving by Friday.
Recommend this site if you like a walk in the woods of an evening and a visit to the city in the daytime.

We visit this council controlled site every year in order to visit family in Lincoln.
The site is very well maintained with special disabled pitches for people like me. The site is located by the side of Hartsholme Country Park, so within a few steps you are in beautiful woodlands with lakes and special adventure areas for the kids. Opposite the reception office is a well organised cafe and above reception is the ranger station with interesting displays of the local wildlife. In the spring they even have cameras in nesting boxes.
Just outside the main gate you can catch a bus into the Beautiful City Of Lincoln which is dominated by the famous cathedral which is the biggest in Europe and over a 1000 years old.
Sadly this site is not open during the winter months so we can't use it to visit family at Christmas, but it is open for 4 days in December for the world famous Lincoln Christmas Market; again the biggest in Europe.
The toilets and showers are very clean and tidy with a coded entry system.

Stopped here Mon-Wed to break journey up on way from Alnwick Northumberland. Both the lady on the phone and warden were very helpful with everything. Site is well maintained with regular litter picking. The site is on a country park with loads of walks in woods/park/lakes/children's park, there is a cafe open 9-4pm that does cooked food.
Cycled into Lincoln on Tuesday, easy flat 20 minute route, made it longer on way back to visit the 'Pyewipe Inn' on the Fossdyke canal bank, situated in-between Skellingthorpe and Lincoln, very near to the A46.
Co-op supermarket and chip shop out of site and few 100yards to the right, although we had the worst fish and chips ever from here on the Monday night!
Would stop here again without hesitation. £19. 30 for caravan, ehu, awning, 2 adults, 1 child.

I ended up phoning, as web-based system seemed not to be working properly, found warden helpful and pleasant. More relaxed attitude to deposits, when chatting to warden this does not seem to have been abused. Cheaper than the Club and Private sites we have used.
The neat field with reasonable spacing was well screened from the extensive country park with its lakes. This is an enjoyable place to go for a stroll. Café close by, but didn’t use it.
Facilities clean and although slightly separated from the field were actually closer than on some sites we have stayed on.
We used bus to visit Lincoln Friday night and on the Saturday. We were impressed by the variety of things in Lincoln and will visit again some time.

We rang up to book at the last minute as we were visiting friends and fancied a day in Lincoln. The lady on the phone was very pleasant and took our details.
We found the site easily, it is signposted and the instructions on here were very accurate. The reception lady was very pleasant, told us how to drive to the best place to park our van in Lincoln, which is only a few minutes drive.
The site is near the entrance to the country park, the field has its own gate which you open and close yourself. The buildings are outside the gate, appear to be an old mews with park ranger offices. The campsite sanitary block is behind the office and has a code for the doors, as the park is open to the public.
There are some public toilets opposite the office which are open from 9. 00am to 4. 00pm, so could be used by campers if the campsite ones are busy. There is a cafe too, opens at 9. 00, we didn't eat there but the menu is extensive, and quite cheap.
The campsite block has separate facilities for men and women, there were 3 toilets, 2 showers and 2 basins in the ladies, it was warm and extremely clean, obviously had the vintage style of the buildings. Utility room had 2 washing up and 2 clothes washing sinks.
The camping field was surrounded by high hedges, had lovely short grass and marked pitches. There was a non-EHU tent area at the far end. The site was very clean, a man came round in the morning checking for and picking up any litter.
The country park was lovely and peaceful, lots of paths where you could walk or cycle round the wildfowl lakes. A popular place for people walking dogs. Plenty of grassy areas for picnics and play.
We enjoyed this quiet site, and would use it again as the price was moderate.

Lovely site which is easy to find
The ground is indeed hard we used rock pegs
TV reception we found to be variable depending on the weather
Site was well maintained, well drained with good clean showers and toilets, although the shower pressure wasn't great.
On Friday and Saturday night there was some noise coming from the main park mainly youths playing music and shouting but this tended to die down before 11pm
Warden was lovely and very helpful
Excellent base for exploring Lincoln and the surrounding area or just chilling out
Loved the fact it was so near a shop
Very well priced too

Super little site on the outskirts of Lincoln. Visited in July - Ideal for the air show only 6 miles away and believe it or not - only £10 per night for two people a tent and a car!
Warden very friendly, Showers and toilets were spotlessly clean - recycling facilities etc
Pitches all level - Slight problem with rocky ground - will bring better pegs next time! (definitely will return to this site)
Large park areas with lakes and loads of wildlife - birds, rabbits squirrels and bats all seen within tent area.
A short walk to Co-op and Spar and the best fish and chips I've had in a long while.
The only negative was that being by lakes and under trees, the site was prone to mosquitoes so be sure to pack some repellent - otherwise 10 out of 10

Superb site with one of the most helpful wardens we have come across. Nothing was too much trouble.
We have a large RV (31 feet and 7 tonnes) and were easily accommodated on a very firm pitch. Our son and family were pitched in their tent just opposite (tenters beware-very hard ground!)
Very peaceful and attached to the a vast country park with walk ways / tracks clearly marked and disabled friendly. Childrens play ground close by. Loos and showers were spotless.
Co-op, One stop and chippy just down the road. Cant' wait to go again!
