Terrific site, A bit odd to be overlooked by a tower block but wasn't an issue, Ground a bit on the stony side so be patient putting your pegs in. Site really well kept, shower/toilets kept warm and clean. Staff really helpful and friendly. Plenty of wildlife for the kids to see, we were visited by a couple of ducks each day and they seem to like cornflakes and some water. Nice park for the kids to play on.
Good walks around the park. Handy for Lincoln castle and cathedral, 10-15 minutes by car. Dairymade farm just inside Skellingthorpe is a good couple of hours out with younger children.

Just returned from a 2 night stay. Spot on site level pitches, spot location 2mins bus stop round corner for Lincoln city every 10 mins £2. 20 oneway. Clean toilets showers. Lovely park just outside camp children's park, lake lovely dog walking, good café.
We will definitely return to this camp site. No problem at all with noise or anything else. Lincoln a fantastic city.

We intended to stay 2 nights over Easter but decided on 1 due to the weather. I phoned in advance to check that would be ok. Felt like I was receiving a lecture on it should be a minimum of 3 nights and we wouldn't get any money back! That wasn't the purpose of my call and nor was 3 nights discussed when we'd booked it 2weeks earlier. On arrival I'm assuming because we'd not arrived the day before as originally planned the only pitch left was at the bottom of the site. It was like a bog! Pegs difficult to get in as half was down seemed like concrete. Couldn't have been any further away from the facilities! They were however clean and in excellent condition. I visted the shower after dark to be met by a police car continually patrolling the lane. As we were next to the alley continual noise from passers by swearing shouting and discussion of drug use during that day! Boom boom music from the flats and at approx 3am only what I can describe as loud bin emptying possibly from the hostel next door. Our experience is in no way reflective of the park itself which is lovely and s fab place to visit during the day.

What a lovely site. Booked last minute, very friendly service which continued when we arrived. We were given a choice of pitch but decided as it was our first visit to stick with the allocated one. (Pitch 9 gets sun in the afternoon). The toilets and free showers were warm and immaculate as was the rest of the site. Some lovely walks around the lakes, a short trip into Lincoln and easy access. Will definitely be back.

We have stayed here many times. Every year the price goes up, yet the facilities stay the same. Paying £3 a night for an awning seems one way of getting extra money off everybody - but how about improving the facilities? It's not pleasant having to actually leave the site to use the showers/loo - if it's daytime, you always get a walker trying to nip in - if it's evening, & dark, it is actually scary. The lane at the side of the site (to walk to the shops) is also scary - I had a youth on his bike follow me at a snails pace when I came back with fish & chips from the nearby chippie - very intimidating. The pitches are large, a slice could be trimmed off each pitch, & facilities built withing the campsite that don't smell damp. The rangers are lovely & approachable, although one was a little on the high & mighty side. Doubt if we'll come back - if you don't look forward to going somewhere, it's just not worth going.

Excellent location close to the city centre and adjacent to a well kept country park. The facilities are kept clean to a good standard and the staff very friendly and helpful. The pitch spacing between adjacent units is good. The cost for our motorhome including electricity was £16 which we considered fair. We didn't suffer from noise or encounter any problematic people from the nearby flats as reported in an earlier review.
The area close by is served by a good selection of both on and off road cycle paths and a bus service is served via the adjacent bus stop.
As we stayed for 3 week nights we did think that the toilet facilities might struggle to cater for a full site over a weekend.
Recommended.

We stayed at this campsite for 5 nights on the strength of the good reviews here, and we weren't disappointed. The wardens, as others have said, were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The site is a 'little gem' - so handy for the city of Lincoln and for exploring the area, yet peaceful and secluded. The facilities were a little old but spotless - one of the few draught-free showers I've had this year! Thoughtful touches such as little shelves in the shower cubicles to put your things on make all the difference.
You can only use gas BBQs here but this didn't matter to us as we cycled to the Vintage Inn to the south of the park each night - lovely food and friendly staff here too. The park cafe breakfasts were yummy too.

Stayed here several times and there are signs of deterioration and lack of attention. Toilets and showers were not up to the usual standards of cleaning.
The flood light covering the campsite entrance was useless as it was covered by ivy leaving it easy to walk into the bollards, the ivy was cut back when it was pointed out. Lighting on the campsite is minimal and in the second half non existent
The recycling facility has been removed - strange for a council run site.
The road/path from the main road to the campsite is not lit so after dark it is a challenge - we were threatened and chased when walking down here and had demands for money and phones which needed the police to attend.
In general it is a nice site and a good location, but more could be done for security and peace of mind. As others have said - hard ground and a nearby block of flats.
Will we go again, yes, but after dark when going out to town etc, a taxi to/from the campsite gate not the main road) is the safest way.

This is a very useful campsite for visiting Lincoln, but it can fill up, I should have phoned about availability first.
It is quite a compact site surrounded by trees so not very sunny, but pleasant. As it is in an urban area it is better to keep hold of valuables and lock bikes, sensible precautions almost anywhere. The warden was welcoming and very helpful, providing information on alternative campsites from UKCampsite.co.uk, and a cycling map of Lincoln. There is quite a good network of cycle paths in Lincoln and the city centre is within 10-15 mins by bike, and there are also buses. The toilets and showers were clean and good. There is a Co-Op shop open long hours and a chip shop close by, also a pub. The cost of staying with a lightweight tent was reasonable
I would use this campsite again

This site has the potential to be superb.
Unfortunately two things will hold it back. The very very dated facilities with the unpleasant odour and the close location of the tower block.
Having said that we had a very good 4 night stay, we stayed for 5 nights but the drunken eastern europeans staying in tents and throwing up by the entrance spoilt the last night.
The tower block only made its presence known on one morning, 02. 00 am, with the usual brainless boom-boom-boom music but it didn't last too long.
The park is superb and the facility to easily walk to shops, a chip shop (and not a bad one at that) and the access to the city of Lincoln are a bonus.
The site could do with one of the clubs getting their hands on it as the council have split responsibilities so it is a half hearted affair.
There is a cafe in the park and it was busy at all times. We didn't use it but it must be OK given the numbers using it. The car park for Hartsholme country park was full every day.
We marked the Customer service very low as we saw nobody after checking in.
Having said all that I was really impressed by the location and the park and would return.
