Amazing site. Lovely scenery (downside is the exposure if the weather turns). Great facilities that are regularly cleaned. Showers are £1 but seem to last forever! Very friendly atmosphere. Lamb burgers cooked on the campfire BBQ whilst watching the sun set over the sea were excellent. Unforgettable.

It's a lovely site in a fantastic spot. Unfortunately everyman and his dog seems to have discovered it now and it's a bit like Skegness Butlins in the summer.
My only criticism is that the showers go cold after about 11 in the morning, after trying two showers in succession just to make sure my first shower wasn't broken, I gave up and asked the farmers wife for a refund please, to which she told me that it was 'common sense' that the showers would be cold after 11! Then begrudgingly gave me my £2 back. I wasn't sure whether they were electric or off the header tank! Hence I haven't been back since, but it is a lovely site.

Campsite is right on the coast- so you get to sleep with the sound of the waves! The coast line train runs by the site-but only every 2 hours and is barely noticable.
Facilities are very good- washing room with washer and dryer. Seperate male and female toilets with showers and hairdryer.
Quiet campsite where you can build your own fires and friendly owners. Tight entry to campsite -wouldn't fancy it with a caravan!
We stayed a couple of nights only as it was very windy!(windy everywhere in Wales that week!) Bet it's perfect when the weather's good!
Good idea for a day trip without the car is going to Twywyn and catching the train up the coast(£6 rover tickets)-we went to Harlech castle and Porthmadog.

This site was amazing watching the sun set as we toasted marshmallows on the fire was something the kids will never forget.
The owners were friendly and were ok about us having our dog with us as long as she was kept on the lead.
Only draw back was a group of young people wanted to stay up until 2.30-3.00 in the morning drinking Fri and Sat :o( and we happened to be near them with 3 young children,we told the owner on sun morning and he said he had no problems pulling their tent pegs out but we were going anyway but it was nice to know he would have dealt with them had we have told him earlier.
Toilets & showers were cleaned regularly.
The kids went down to the pebble beach and really loved collecting fire wood.
There is a co-op in Twyn which is open late on Fri & Sat.
Abberdovey beach is lovely and one we love to visit with the kids.
This was just a Fri to Sun camping trip for us and I think it would be nice and quiet in the week.
There is a train that runs along side the lower field but we didn't really notice it.

Way Hay, Absolutely fab.
Owners meet you and greet you very friendly.
Entrance for a caravan very very tight but I would do it again for the site.
Two fields both overlooking a rocky beach and the irish sea, what a view!
Facilities are more then adequate and always being cleaned.
Fires are encouraged as are group parties so not to everyones taste. We are usually CC site visitors but now and again we go with all our friends who still use tents and the vanners and light a big fire.
This is the best site we have found for this and this type of camping.
Its right on the coast so windy but we had two caravans and three tents and a few windbreaks, light a big coal fire in a deep pit and enjoy.
Fab for kids they all loved it in all age ranges.
Farmers wood very expensive so bring your own,or a bag of coal is hotter. Go And Enjoy

Visited this site last week intending to stay for one night. Stayed for eight! So peaceful and relaxing! Good clean facilities, but kept simple so don't intrude on the beauty of the site. Showers are £1 but last a good while, hairdryer at 20p! Had the north field to ourselves most of the week, campers seem to arrive Friday and leave on Sunday. Beach hard-going for walks (very rocky) but plenty of rock pools for exploring. Very friendly relaxed owners and even friendlier sheep and hedgehogs! Lamb burgers sold at farm are very tasty with a hint of mint. Stunning sunsets! Do bring your own firewood as cheaper than £5 a bundle! Plenty to do locally if you can bear to leave the site. Good real ale in village pub, The Garthangharrad. Park at Arthog railway station for a lovely walk across the estuary railway bridge to Barmouth. This is the perfect campsite. We'll be back there next weekend!

I hadn't been to this site since I was 16, so when I returned I was glad to see not a great deal had changed. The site is situated on top of a cliff overlooking the Welsh sea. At low tide you can walk down on to the rock beach.
Its quiet, the views over the sea are amazing, being allowed to have camp fires is nice (and Tony will even bring wood to your tent £5 a bundle). Not having do this / dont do that signs everywhere is great. They sell homemade burgers as well £4 for 6 I think, we didn't have any this trip but are going again this weekend so may try them this time.
The shower block is basic, but functional and clean. Showers are £1 a go, but never used so not sure how good.
The site definitely can handle more than 15 pitches - think that is an error on their home page.
Local shop is 2/3 miles away in Bryn Crug and there is a petrol station / shop in the other direction near Fairbourne. You also have the beaches of Tywyn and Aberdyfi within 8 miles.
All in all, if you want a fire, a quiet uncrowded site, this is the one for you. If you want the facilities you get on a touring park, go somewhere else ;)

I have to agree with most of the past reviews but I would hate to take a van to the site as the entrance is a tight blind corner and its a steep entrance road, but there was some brave souls on the site. If you are camping sheet down well as it can get windy but what can you expect being where the site is I must admit that for the ammount I paid to stay I found it to be a bit expensive for what you got, as my son was charged at adult rate I was paying £15 a night for one tent for the three of us and a pound each for a shower. I would hazard a guess by saying that the toilet block would not be adequate if the site is full but for peace and a view the site is great.

Just to put the record straight, they have up to 90 pitches available (maximum). What can we say! What a campsite! Fabulous location, spectacular views, rocky beach on your door step, only down side, can't always guarantee the weather and your tent needs to be well pegged. It can get very windy! Pick of the pitches are reasonably level for a sloping cliff top site, but if site is at capacity some pitches will be very sloping. Most pitches have camp fire facilities which add to the ambiance of the evening. Pitches are not marked and you are free to choose your own location. Pot washing is as good as it will ever get with magnificent views out to sea. Some campers even went for a swim, but not us! Toilet and shower facilities are adequate and located centrally although we suspect at peak times a little patience will be required. Diesel and steam trains pass along the back of the camping area which adds to the magic of the site. The owner ( not wanting to offend by miss-spelling his name) is very welcoming and hospitable and is always on hand to help or for a chat. The surrounding area is, apparently, just as stunning, but we were so content at the site that we didn't move for the duration of our holiday. No need for parks or entertainment, the kids loved it just as it was. Will definitely return next year.

A superb, friendly site with several different areas to choose from. The site owners are very pleasant and friendly; the only sign placed on the site is how to set the shower when leaving; none of the 'Please Do' and 'Please Don't' posters that other site owners like to paper the walls and fenceposts with. The facilities are very good and clean but be prepared to pay £1 for a shower. Good dish washing facilities along with a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer. A freezer is supplied FOC as are a number of novels in a 'mini library' that I expect is run on a one in one out basis. The site is on several levels and any slopes seem gentle which is more that can be said for the wind if it is blowing strongly but our tents stayed where we put them. Access to the stony beach is very good and a couple of canoes were launched from it while we were there; on the north field there is plenty of green space for kids to play. Numerous fire-pits are provided for those that bring or find wood and this adds another dimension to the enjoyment. Several campers had brought their well behaved dogs with them. There is no shop but the local town, about 5 miles away is good, the owners sell eggs and lamb burgers. There are local pubs that serve food a few miles away but we, like many other campers opted to stay on site in the evenings. Snowdonia National park is accessible from here but the area is not short of attractions. Sandy beaches can be found in adjacent towns. A straw poll of our group put this as the best site we had stayed at and all of us would have stayed longer if we could; but we'll be back.
