We were only intending to stay for 1 night but ended up staying for 3. Lovely basic site with spectacular views. We had amazing weather for our stay which always helps.
The sunsets were stunning and the owners friendly and helpful. Definitely will be returning to this little gem

Always a joy to visit this campsite.
The location is excellent if you're looking for somewhere quiet, with exceptional views and don't mind going a distance to the nearest shop (usually Tywyn).
The owners are friendly, and the facilities are decent (a little dark and probably a little small for high seasons) but fairly well kept. Showers are coin operated but have a long timer (as far as I can tell at least 10 minutes, but in reality probably more).
The beach to which the campsite has access is rocky, and is great for wandering along in both directions.

Fantastic location, but, as others have said, be aware that if strong winds off the sea are forecast, it is very exposed. Another thing to be cautious of is the right turn off the main road if travelling from Fairbourne direction. It is on a blind bend and it is safer to drive past, turn around and then enter from the other direction.
The site is not very flat, due to its location immediately above the beach, but the views make up for this. The grass was on the long side when I visited, but wasn't too much of a problem.
The toilet block was good and well maintained. The washing-up sinks could have the best location for any campsite in the country, with the views out to sea.
Owner was very friendly and even photocopied some pages from a walk guide book she had.
It is possible to walk into Tywyn along part of the Wales Coast Path. And when in Tywyn, I suggest treating yourself to a honey ice-cream from Holgates.

Another fabulous camping weekend at this amazing little campsite, fantastic views as you are right on the beach near enough, sunsets are unbelievable.
Site is very basic but has all you need, toilet block with showers £1 to operate them, small kitchen with washing up sinks and a washing machine and dryer for clothing £2 to use.
There is also an open sided barn to sit in if weather not holding out, this barn has a couple of plug sockets so you can charge your phone. Not far off Towyn and also Barmouth if you fancy the seaside experience.
I will be visiting again next year.

Amazing little gem, we camped right on the beach edge and watched the stars from our bed at night.
Owners are friendly and helpful, and camp fires allowed so glass of wine in hand marshmallows on sticks in the other whilst the kids ran off their energy on the beach.
Have been and will be back here for future short breaks and holidays.
HIGHLY RECCOMENDED for you to visit BEAUTIFUL

Great views right on the beach edge, not sandy but beautiful all the same. Cliff edge walk not for faint hearted.
Basic facilities but always clean and perfectly adequate.
Lots of places to visit in the area but not within walking distance. Always happy to return.

When the farm / camp site has been in the same family for over 4 generations, their outgoings are minimal at best. Therefore, it is surprising that its so expensive to stay there; guess its all about supply and demand.
And with a view of the sea to die for, they can charge whatever they want - similar to many other businesses its simply a case of 'making hay whilst the sun shines'

This is, almost, my ideal campsite. It is quiet, clean well-equiped and surrounded by a seemingly endless supply of walks of all grades. Add to this the helpful and hardworking hosts and Cae Du becomes a wonderful bolt hole, a refuge from the stresses of the world outside of Snowdonia.
Every morning one wakes to a different pallet of colours which seem to change and evolve as you stand and watch. Whether it be a days strenuous climb of Snowdon along Watkins path, an evening stroll us the river to a magical lake or a short walk into Beddgelert for an excellent meal Cae Du is the place to be.
Can't wait for March so that we can get back there

The location of the site is a amazing but its very expensive for what is a very basic site with no EHU. Payimg for a shower which only just lasted long enough to wash your hair on top of £25 per night was a little annoying, ok a lot annoying. The photos on the website seem to be very outdated and don't show the true site which is much higher above sea level than they show.
Toilets/showers were cleaned twice a day but would benefit from a deep clean. Even after cleaning there was hairs etc all over the floors and a couple of the toilet seats were very loose. The kitchen was clean, but freezers needed a defrost. Washing machine was £2 for a wash.
There is a room next to the kitchen with a sofa covered in bird poo (along with everything else in the room) which if cleaned up could have been a lovely play room for kids and would have stopped them running around the site at all hours and tripping over guy ropes.
With some care and attention this site could be a 10 out of 10 across the board as it is I was disappointed because it is a very expensive site for the facilities available.
Campfire was lovely but as there are no allocated pitches it was a little awkward to go out and come back to find another tent pitched up so close that the guys almost overlapped! Only about 3 sheltered pitches on the site the rest are very exposed. Also very noisy until gone midnight most of the nights we were there.
Surrounding area is lovely, Tywyn is a beautiful little town. Highly recommend Dollys coffee shop. Fairbourne is also lovely and then if you want a bit more of a Skegness feel there is Barmouth. Avoid Carousel Chippy and head to Rosies Cafe next to the station.
Not hugely child friendly, although they are welcome and loved the rock pooling, the beach isn't really one for swimming at. Toilet locks were very stiff and I struggled at times which could be an issue for smaller people and they couldn't be unlocked from the outside.
We wouldn't return here unless big changes were made. I can see how some people would love it and return time and time again. But for me it didn't even hit the basics of cleanliness for use to go back, which is a shame as this could be an amazing site.

Best place to go and relax,
my husband first took me there 4 years ago when we were just going out with each other, we got married and had our honeymoon there, the owners son, helped us out when our gears went on our T4, he managed to drill into the ball and fix it together,
we got back home safe and sound, we will be going back, as soon as we get our T4 back on the road.
