We had a really pleasant stay here for two nights. The site is huge and we had a small field with just us and one other family in it. The grass was short and the site was well drained and level. There was lots of room for the kids to play in.
The owner is very friendly and made us feel at home when he showed us around. He provided a fire pit which was made from a washing machine drum, wood and kindling. There is a small shop, unmanned with an honesty box, selling bits and pieces, with other items such as air beds available from the owner. There is also a fridge and freezer for ice packs.
The site does, however, have its down sides. It is quite close to the A12 and while the traffic roar isn't loud enough to be intrusive, it is a constant background noise.
The facilities were kept clean and reasonably well stocked, but there was a general air of decay to them. The toilets and washing up area had a 'rustic' feel to them and the gent's-only toilet didn't seem to have any lighting in it. This impression continued on the site, for example a frankly dangerous trampoline with several springs missing, and a collapsing football goal in our field. There was quite a lot of farmyard-type rubbish lying around in places, adding to the feel that the site is a bit neglected.
I should add that these things did not actually spoil our visit and the site's location is perfect as a base for exploring the region and visiting places such as Framlingham Castle and Aldeburgh.

Stayed here last weekend with friends - 2 families 2 caravans. We were celebrating a special birthday so were more than happy with our pitch - lovely secluded spot where we were allowed a fire!
The owner was more than helpful and had time to chat to us - he was there if we needed him!
The site has lots of choice of where to pitch either by the lake or more secluded in the meadow with specially close mown areas. The toilets / showers were basic but serviceable, there is a small help yourself shop area with honesty box and space for campers to use in fridge/freezer. Water and chemical waste emptying by the main house. We were also allowed to use the pool table in the games room. Ideally situated to see coastal Suffolk and right near the Poachers Pocket pub !
All in all a great no frills back to nature site!

This is the first site I've stayed on in over 2 years - we stayed here in June with friends. The campsite is huge with the pitches very far apart. The owner took us around the site and let us choose where we wanted stay. We chose a field that he did not think was quite ready for us to pitch up but we thought it was perfect as we were completely on our own - what a treat!
We also chose to have fire basket, which was lovely in the evening and as there is so much space we were not worried about disturbing other campers.
The showers and washing up area is basic but they are clean and free.
The site is really peaceful, lots of different birds and plenty of rabbits.
The owner manages to be on hand when you need him but is never intrusive and really leaves you to get on with it.
We loved it and would definitely return.

Been here many times and always have an amazing time. We always have a huge choice of places to pitch our tent, sometimes we go by the lake and other times in another field so we can have a campfire. The owner Ray couldn't be more helpful and even set up a TV in the games room so we could watch the England game. The boys always love the fishing and it is great for children as many small fish can be caught very easily. There is no set arrival or leaving time and this makes for a very relaxing stay. Will be back again very soon!

Just recently got back from a weeks stay at Mill Farm. Have to say one of the best family friendly sites I have ever stayed on. Owner went out of his way to be helpful and his children encouraged the children on site camping to join in with games etc enabling us adults to chill out. That's what camping is about !
Toilet and shower facilities were basic but extremely clean and always warm, especially the ladies shower. Small general supplies were on hand as was wood for fires. All reasonably priced. Fishing lake looked inviting but we didn't use it but other campers looked like they enjoyed themselves. Plenty of fish seen bobbing about. Site was spacious and children loved the space to roam free and we felt happy to let them carry on. Games room was great when we had a bit of rain
Swimming pool was a bonus and our kids loved it. Again very cheap.
Tescos &Waitrose in the nearby village and a park not far away for kids if you fancy a walk.
All in all a great family holiday and we have already booked to go back. Highly Recommended.

My husband and I have just returned from a three night break at Mill Farm. This was a first time camping experience for us and it was great. The owner was so welcoming and helpful, showing us where we could put up our tent and showing us around. I agree with some of the reviews the showers are basic but clean. Some people did not clean them down after they used them but we are always considerate of other people. As Lee said in a review if you want glamping go and stay at a 5* hotel this for myself and my husband was great to get away and sit in the evening in front of a fire pit and just chilling. We will be going back for a week or more next year. We are a mature couple just wanting to get away and we did. Keep it up, fantastic.

During August we spent a very enjoyable 10 days at Mill Farm.
On arrival the owner personally meets you and walks you around the site to find suitable pitch. The campsite is very spacious and you have plenty of room to enjoy yourself.
The kids spent many hours in the den and tree house as well as meeting up with others. In the evening the owner organises games for the children in a big field allowing the parent to have some quite time around a camp fire, which the owner also provides.
There are plenty of toilets and showers and we never had to wait
The Poachers Pocket pub is right outside the campsite and is a very friendly and welcoming and offers good beer and food.
We had such a great time that on leaving we have arranged with the owner to go back next year.

Wow! Definitely a hidden treasure!
On arrival to this site, The campsite owner greeted us warmly and showed us around the site. The owner's enthusiasm and passion for the campsite inspired us! You can tell its not just a job to him. He generally seems keen on making your camping experience an amazing one!
The site was huge, the largest I have ever seen, which is not just a large space; but one which has it's own orchard area (with homely rabbits in), large group areas, safe campfire areas, beautiful water area with lots of fish and moorhens, areas all surrounded by beautiful well cared for trees and blackberry bushes, electrical points, clean bathrooms and showers. And so much more!
My partner and I had a great 3 night stay there with great facilities, a friendly face who gave great ideas for fun days out and lots of peace and tranquillity. A perfect tranquil getaway for all the family! With absolutely amazing prices!
Thank You!

Been here 3 times now and have just returned from a 16 night stay and can honestly say I didn't want to leave. The owner is as other reviews have said a nice genuine down to earth man who will go out of his way to make your visit relaxed and enjoyable.
Other plus points are very spacious pitches of which you can pretty much take your pick and are spread out over at least 4 fields, possibly more, so you never feel on top of one another and gives the kids plenty of room to play without being a nuisance to others.
Cracking little fishing lake for young and old alike to try their hand, absolutely teeming with small fish just waiting to jump on the hook and plenty of larger fish too.
Quite a large inflatable swimming pool for the kids to splash around in and swim a good few strokes and lovely and warm.
As others have said campfires is a nice touch these days in the world of health and safety gone mad. The logs we had burned beautifully and were delivered by the owner to our pitch, another nice touch.
A large games room is there for the children to play in should the weather turn bad (sorry when!).
The site also has a small basic shop with quite a few handy items for sale (gas cannisters, caravan levellers, electric cables, sweets, drinks etc)monies to be paid into the honesty box provided, another nice gesture from the owner.
Local pub is literally 2 minutes from the site, not much of a drinker myself, but we had dinner there one evening and the meals were very enjoyable.
Other people have mentioned the facilities, I personally always found them clean, could always get a shower with nice hot water and loos always had sufficient loo roll, like another reviewer said it is camping guys.
To sum up, a charming campsite with plenty to offer young and old with more of an old school attitude to camping where you can get away from everything and just relax, will definitely be going back.
