I stayed at Mill Farm for two nights in our folding camper with my husband, four children and two dogs. We thought it was a great site, lovely and quiet loads of space with plenty of room to set up with lots of room between pitches.
Facilities were very basic and a little unfinished but perfectly adequate. Might need more toilets if the site was busy as there were only four or five plus a couple of urinals. They were however very clean and we had no problems.
Great dog field and fishing pond/lake and had a small inflatable pool in a conservatory. There is also a barn where you can play giant floor chess too if weather is not very nice. Pond is not fenced in so young children would have to be well supervised.
Saxmundham is a lovely little village a short drive away. Great location to visit nearby Southworld and Thorpeness. Thorpeness has a shingle dog friendly beach too.

This is our 3rd year of coming to Mill farm, we love it so much it has everything we want from a site, very friendly owners, plenty of space between units, showers, loo's and even freshly laid eggs and a nice big dog walking field, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind and either fish or go for walks down the lanes and many footpaths, or go further afield by car.Little pub a few yards down the road for a drink or a meal, and only 5 minutes by car into Saxmundham for lovely fish and chips etc. We hope to continue camping at this site for many years to come, well done Ray and Deb's for your lovely site

A friendly basic camp site in a beautiful area of Suffolk.
Positives:
Friendly welcoming owners.
Plenty of space - both pitch wise and playing space for children.
Fishing (for those who do!).
Suffolk coast in easy reach.
Quiet - despite proximity to main road - no noise at night.
Inexpensive!
Could improve:
As the last review stated the showers were in fact 3 bathrooms and a shed with a loo and no sink. All the showers worked and water was hot, but none of the structures looked finished, and things 'fell off'.
No real freezer facilities for ice blocks.
A lack of lighting around the water area. It was pitch black and the loos are a long walk from the tent past 2 lake/ponds. Very uneven under foot.
Overall:
Interestingly the adults AND the children independently came up with a score of 7.5 out 10.
We would go back, but would like to see some of the issues above addressed.

Lovely quiet site with some level grassy areas to camp. Close by a fabulous pub.
Have recently opened new showers and toilet facilities and have three showers each with a toilet and washbasin in. Only criticism is that two have no hot water in basin and as combined queues quickly formed. Have a separate toilet block with no lighting currently. Has two gents and one toilet in block. One tap for drinking water on site.
Only other real thing of note is that this is a Camping and Caravanning Certified site

Me and my soon to be wife spent two night at the mill farm in a tent. We stayed at the mill farm after reading reviews below.
Good points= cheap, not busy, friendly site owners, pub nearby but didn't use it.
Not so good points= the field we stayed on was full of pot holes and very uneven, no washing up facilities and only one site water tap,
The new shower block? there are 3 shower rooms with loos in each and a makeshift loo block next to it which had only one wc and two urinals in same block.
The makeshift loo door didn't shut and it was blocked all weekend and there was nowhere to wash your hands,so in the mornings and all the showers are full nowhere to go to the loo, long queues in the mornings and late at night. No light inside or out makeshift loos.
We will not be going back.

A lovely site. We stayed here for 2 nights with some friends and were very impressed with the 'back to basics' style camping. Site is slightly off the beaten track, and facilities are basic but more than adequate.
The site is very spacious and the warden makes sure not to place units too close to each other; as we were in a group we got given a large area to ourselves and we wouldn't have known anyone else was there.
There is a large pond which you can fish in, although we didn't, and a local pub a stones throw from the site. Lot's of space for children to run about and you can ask to be away from pond.
Good position for exploring Suffolk coats, Southwold being a favourite of ours.

Spent a very relaxing 2 days on this pretty, quiet site. Owner very helpful and friendly. Freshly laid eggs available for purchase daily. Good sized pitches with plenty of space and room for children to play. Facilities limited. Only 2 toilets and one shower, both of which were very clean but as the shower was located within one of the toilets queues were seen at busy times. No washing up facilities. Had to get bowl of hot water from the shower and carry to tent to wash up. No children's' playground. The owner had playground within his garden which was visible to all which could cause frustration for younger children who could not use it. Local pub just outside park gates. Friendly and served reasonable food. Saxmundham approx 1.5 miles away contained shops and take-away food. Southwold about 20 mins away by car for day at beach.

This was our first visit to this site, and we will be making many more! The site was really great, with really pleasant and helpful owners, who have lots of good ideas for the future of the site. Nice level site. The children had plenty of room to play and spent most of the weekend fishing in the site's ponds, which were very well stocked - and enjoyed meeting and playing with the owners' children. Nice dog walk in adjacent field. Local pub is about 50ft away from site entrance - so easy staggering distance! Saxmundham is only 2 miles away and has all the facilities you will need. Close to A12 but you can't really hear it because of the hedges. Toilet / shower room excellent, clean and plenty of room.
