This was our third visit to Mill Farm - kids always ask “when are we going back to Ray’s campsite”?
We Love.
The space - Ray does not ‘pack ‘em in’ and we always have lots of space for our v large tent, no ‘marked’ pitches and personal service in that he walks you around on arrival to give you several options of where to pitch so you can choose according to your needs as Ray says it’s “all about you”.
Was slightly nervous this year as kids now 14 & 15 and not been for a few years and worried they might be ‘bored’! Also warned them things might have changed a bit since last there - however all still as remembered and first night kids went off for trailer ride with Ray, helped deliver logs to the tents and then dropped off to the games room to ‘socially distance’ hang out with the other kids on the campsite. We didn’t see them for a couple of hours but enjoyed our fire pit and a few drinks under the stars watching the meteor shower in the huge Suffolk sky with much less light pollution than back at home 🌟. And the same repeated most evenings.
With lovely days on the beach we all really did switch off and wind down, more so than for a long, long time!
The facilities include plenty of showers and toilets for the number of people Ray allows on site and we never had to wait. They are always clean and fine for a week camping. Ray is very accommodating and will always help out with any requests or issues you may have.
If you want to relax and enjoy a lovely family holiday making memories with your kids then this perfect little corner of Suffolk comes highly recommended from us 😊

A lovely relaxed site, very warm welcoming and friendly. Owner has an absolute passion for making your stay memorable, which it definitely was.
There is lots for children to do rope swing, pool, table tennis, swimming, trampoline, football and the favourite judging by the squeals of excitement evening sledging!

The site has such potential. It is in a lovely area has a fantastic pub on its doorstep. Great to be able to use the fire pits. The pitches are well spaced out well kept surrounded with hedgerow & fruit trees.
Lovely little cat visited us.
The toilets & showers need to be tidied & updated. Simple General repairs and clearing the rubbish & broken fridge etc. in the games room would make such a difference.
Having a pool is such a quirky great surprise but again the area is so remarkably makeshift.
Such potential with simple improvements.

Really enjoyed staying at this campsite. It was a proper traditional Campsite. Loads of space and not too many people. The facilities were adequate. Plenty of showers and toilets. The fridge and the freezer a godsend in 35degree heat. Ice creams were a nice touch.
The location of the campsite is perfect, directly in between Southwold and Aldeborough. A visit to Snape Maltings is a must as well.
The best part of our stay was Ray. The perfect host. Nothing too much trouble. His morning and evening visits were always entertaining and imforamtive. We will definitely be back!
Thanks for a fantastic few days.

On arrival, we had a very friendly welcome from the site manager Ray. We were shown the pool (via the 'tradesman's entrance') and then walked around the site to choose a pitch. On route Ray pointed out all of the other facilities.
As we planned to do some fishing, we were given a pitch very close to the lake. The pitch was incredibly spacious, reasonably flat and the grass was recently mown and bordered with trees & small meadows. The electric point was within easy reach. The pitch was south facing which meant little escape from the midday sun, however Ray's suggestion of leaving a car width between the caravan and the boundary meant we were able to create some shade.
The washing up area was a little untidy but suitable for our needs. We did not use the laundry, swimming pool or games room so can not pass comment on those. The toilets and showers although fit for purpose could do with updating.
Before sunset Ray visited pitches in turn, supplying those that wanted it fire pits and wood (£5). With our fire lit and seeing others around the site, it created a great camping atmosphere.
The fishing was good and it guaranteed you a catch. We caught a good number of rud and roach and a lovely 2-3lb fully scaled mirror carp.
Overall Mill Farm produced a great 'back to basics' camping experience. That we as a family really enjoyed and we'd consider staying at Mill Farm again if visiting the area.
I think Ray could benefit from standardising the site's pricing, I feel that it was all a little over complicated and could be simplified with flat rates for electric and fishing etc. This would also help to give customers a clearer idea of costs pre camp.

Caravanned here years ago when kids were small and loved it ! Just me and two teenagers now in a tent and we are still having a fantastic time !
Ray is as friendly and accommodating as ever and the kids have loved the pool, fishing and grass sledging, once they made friends. I hardly saw them as they used the the trampolines to watch the meteor shower and hung out with new friends in the games room. My daughter (14)texted to say “ can I stay here ? I’m having the best time ever !” My son (13)has finally had success fishing thanks to the help and support of other fishing families.
This was the perfect break for the 3 of us and I’ve already recommended it to friends !
Off site we have enjoyed Aldeburgh, south wold and Thorpeness !

A wonderfully spacious site with plenty of pitch space. The location for the coast is perfect.
The facilities are somewhat ramshackle and there are numerous improvements required but if you don't mind intermittent hot water and on some taps any water at all, its fine for a couple of days.
Owner very friendly and helpful.

Mill Farm offered us the tranquility and social distance that we required. The setting of the site enabled us to walk our dog easily in the vast open ground of the site. The fishing was inexpensive and proved very relaxing.
We encountered a problem with our caravan and Ray the proprietor was most helpful in recommending a main dealer just a few minutes from us. He had offered to have a look for us but we were reluctant as that would have affected the warranty. Ray was very attentive to his stayers.
Should anyone require a relaxed break with lovely surrounding and a friendly proprietor, would recommend this site and an added bonus was the "Poachers pocket" just outside the site entrance which was a free house and served lovely food, we had our Sunday Roast there and the helpings were more that adequate and value for money with a friendly landlord. It is a site that we will be returning at some stage.

Great location 15 mins from the nearest beach and only 25 mins from southwold beach, which even in the height of summer still had plenty of space.
Pitches or areas as they should be called, have plenty of space and Ray is great at walking you around and choosing the right place for you.
The facilities are basic but fine - which is why I still give them a ten out of ten, as they are as described,
What makes this Site is Ray, a great host who couldn't do more for you and even I wanted a go on the sledge!
The Poachers pocket is just 10 steps from the site and was great to have a drink and sit outside on a quiet afternoon.
Rustic and perfect is how I would describe it - we will be back
