The site was easy to get to and situated just off the A12. Although close to a main road there was hardly any noise from traffic.
It is ideally situated for exploring the local area - Aldeburgh, Southwold, Dunwich Heath, Snape.
On arrival Ray gave us a guided tour so we knew where everything was. The pitches were huge, level and well-maintained. There was plenty of space between pitches giving lots of freedom to relax and play ball games/Frisbee etc. It is set in 21 acres so there are plenty of walks to be had.
The facilities had a slightly ramshackle feel to them but that is part of its charm and fitted with the character of the site owners - laid back, unhurried and with a laissez-faire attitude, for example there was no urgency for us to leave the site at the end of our stay – we could leave whenever we wanted. Ray was on hand if needed and a couple of times a day popped round the pitches to see if everything was ok.
There is only one washing up sink and the flow of warm - ish water from the tap was extremely slow. It was situated in an exposed small ‘lean-to’ which had no lighting at night and situated next to the chemical toilet which made washing-up a difficult and unpleasant experience.
Showers and toilets were very clean throughout our stay.
There was also a little ‘shop’ which stocked drinks / snacks / guy ropes / pegs and some other camping essentials. This could be accessed 24/7 and relied on the honesty of campers which was a nice touch. Next to this there were a couple of fridges / freezers which could be used free of charge. The small fishing lake was well stocked.
There is a pub directly outside the campsite which was very handy. The beer was of good quality although we found the food to be mediocre and expensive for what it was.
The Mill Farm website doesn’t show the tariffs so you will have to ring to discuss the range of charges/extras. There are three classes of tent - small / medium / large. (Our 8 berth tent was classed as medium!)
This is an excellent site and is one we would happily recommend to others

We stayed at Mill Farm with our friends who had a tent, in total 4 adults, 5 children and a dog and had a wonderful week. The owners are doing a great job with this camp site.
Facilities are good and the lake has plenty of fish even if they are not the biggest. Our boys (8 & 12) tried fishing for the first time and caught a good number of fish.
Saxmundham is only a short drive away as is the coast at Southwold.
As others have said the A12 is very close and you can hear the traffic but it did not put us off and did not keep us awake at night.

As first time campers we wanted somewhere which wasn't crowded or 'gimmicky', just somewhere 'back to nature' with the basic facilities, and this offered just that. A fabulous introduction to camping, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mill Farm.
A beautiful spot just off the A12, ideal location close to so many local attractions, we were there for RSPB Minsmere, a 10-15 min drive up the road max.
Ray, the owner is a very friendly and helpful chap without being in your face, shows you around and then leaves you to your own devices, just what we wanted. We had the field to ourselves this time and it was wonderful, but even if we hadn't, each pitch is spaced out enough so you are not close to others which is great.
We could have been in the middle of nowhere, the A12 was just a faint hum in the background, otherwise very peaceful and tranquil with just the birdsong as your sound track.
The facilities are ideal, ok so not 5* luxury, but a good number of showers and toilets available, all clean, hot water at all times, and facilities for washing up, all that you need.
Pub is just on the corner outside the campsite which is great. We loved our time here and will definitely be returning again, and again!

What can I say, we were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. It was my two boys (6 and 8 years old)first camping experience and I couldn't of asked for anything more. Ray was fantastic and all the facilities were spot on for what we wanted.
Surrounding area was calm and peaceful. Clean toilets and showers and a very well run site. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and there was a good mixture of tents and caravans.
The local pub, which is a stones throw away was very welcoming as well!

Very welcoming campsite. Location was easy to find and owners very helpful on arrival and throughout stay.
Spacious, peaceful and with good facilities.
Extra long electric hook up cable lent to us by owner at no charge.
Small Swimming pool is on site but we didn't have time to use it.
Games room whilst very large was a little limited in articles and a bit neglected.
Toilets clean and handtowels always clean and fresh.
Pub within a minutes walk, with excellent food is an added bonus.

Well this is our 5th year of coming to Mill Farm so need I say more, we just love this site,
So much space between pitches you never feel overlooked, plenty of space for kids to play. Lovely pond for fishing with some fair sized carp, £4,50 a day not the previously stated £6,50, and a nice big dog walking field which our dog just loves.
Free range eggs usually available (get in quick) from the farms own chickens.
Showers and loo's okay for the size of the site,
So if you are looking for site with plenty of green surroundings, a little pub opposite the entrance and plenty of places to visit and not forgetting the lovely owners and their 3 boys, then this is the place for you,
We hope to keep coming for many years to come with our new caravan

My family recently stayed at Mill Farm for a lovely 5 day break.
My son and I spent many hours fishing by the pond, it was his first time and it was perfect as he caught lots of fish! We also had some day trips out to Aldeburgh, Southwold and the country fair at Heveningham.
A nice flat grassy site with a barn for the kids to play pool in. Shower and loo facilities were absolutely fine and kept clean. Very friendly and helpful owners, they even lent us some wine glasses as we forgot to pack ours!
Already booked for August and looking forward to spending 7 days next time.

Stayed at the site for 4nights very peaceful, showers are not very hot and not enough bins for the rubbish. It has a pond which we found expensive at £6.50 a day and the fish are small. The only thing I would say to change is they need some lighting round the pond or the path to the shower block, its very dark at night and you could end up walking into the pond. Also I would like to see some sort of fence around the pond as my 2year old child fell in on the first visit to the site. But all in all if you want a peaceful few days away I would recommend the site

Just returned from Mill Farm, a small site, with 5 caravan pitches (all grass) and room for about 6/7 tents in the main field.
A little road noise from the nearby A12 but not enough to keep you awake. Toilets and showers clean and adequate for size of site, except when rally field is in use.
I was very surprised to be charged £18.50 a night. The fishing is just a large pond and expensive at £4.50 a day.
The owner was helpful and the site is kept tidy.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in our tent and had a great time. It is an excellent, easy to find site, friendly owners and has a great fishing lake, we had plenty of catches just using bread as bait! The facilities were adequate with a hot shower both days.
Lots of potential for this site to get better and better. Very peaceful with plenty of space between pitches. We would definitely go back again
