Riverside is a beautiful, quiet campsite situated very close yet seemingly miles away from the city of Plymouth. We have just returned from a 4 night stay in late July / early August. The site was busy but never seemed it. Most of the units were caravans or campers which meant that the facilities there were never busy. Toilets / showers are well kept and clean. Pitch sizes are very good. The only downside for us was the fact that high trees surround the site which is great for seclusion but tends to hide the early morning and late evening sun. We would recommend a pitch towards the centre of the site rather than around the perimeter to get the best of the sun. The swimming pool was nice, not massive, but fairly quiet even at that time of the season. There was various entertainment laid on but we never attended. We would definitely stay at Riverside again and would recommend it as a great site for those wanting a quiet hany location near Plymouth.

We visited this site in the height of the season and it coped really well. There are two large shower/toilet blocks and lots of room around the pitches. The children's playground is limited and more useful for younger children but there is a games room which houses a pool table and TV, plus a couple of older style arcade machines which do not break the bank. There is a small bu adequate take away and a restaurant which has reasonably priced meals, there are also specials on every night, i.e BBQ night which costs £3.75 per person. The food was extremely well priced and lovely. The owners take great care with all its customers and provide a great fun atmosphere at the small but adequate clubhouse. The drinks at the bar are not highly priced as some sites are and the choice is extensive. The entertainment is limited to the high season and it generally amounted to bingo and the odd entertainer but everyone appeared to enjoy it. This is a great site on the edge of Plymouth city which is serviced by a park and ride 5 minutes walk from the gates of the site and a large superstore 10 minutes walk away.We had no problems with the flooding as the site was well drained. I would definitely use this site again and its only downfall is that the local beaches are few and far between but this did not prevent us from finding one at cawsands. Highly recommended.

This site was lovely. We stayed here for one night in our campervan at then end of our tour of Cornwall as a stop over on the way home. The site is well looked after and visibly very pretty and well laid out. The toilet and shower blocks were very clean and I liked the fact they had toilets with washbasin cubicles too. The showers were free and nice and warm, except I did struggle with pushing the button to keep the water running all the time and found the shower head a bit low for washing my hair. However, these are trivialities. I think I must walk slow though, as lots of reviews say the park and ride is a 5 minute walk away, but it actually took us about 15 minutes. Not a problem though as its a nice walk along the edge of the river. £13.50 a night with EHU. A nice site which I would return to without hesitation if I want to visit Plymouth or as a stopover again.

We have stayed at this site for the last four years, the first time we just stumbled on it and loved it. The people are very friendly. The park and ride is only 5 minutes away which takes you into the town centre. There is plenty to do on and around the site and the birds and wildlife are quite tame (especially the wood pigeons and squirrels!) . The entertainment is good and the prices are good. Would recommend the Sunday carvery, lovely!

Stayed here for just one night before taking the ferry to France. Only wished we had booked for longer. Fantastic facilities, toilets were immaculate as were the showers. Site is very well laid out, all the pitches were generous in size. kids had a great time in the heated pool although they were having problems with it, it didn't stop the kids from going in. Excellent base for touring this part of England. Would reccommend anyone travelling this way to France to stay here to break up the long journey. Thank you to the owners for such a lovely site.

This site was a wonderful place to stay, the toilets/showers were spotless all the time. The site is very close to the main A38 and is also next to a large industrial estate but you would never know as the site is surrounded but tall trees and greenery. There is a park and ride less that 5 mins walk from the site that takes you right into plymouth town center. The site has a number of fully serviced hard standing pitches. These were mainly used by larger RV units when we were there. There is a club house with a small takeaway and there are two out door pools, but I believe these are only open in the summer. All in all, a very nice site that we be visiting again.

Stayed for four excellent days. Previous reviews really say it all. Very pretty site. Great for dog walking, National Trust Land adjacent to lovely river walk. Large pitches not too crowded when we went. Visited Saltram House, Plymouth Hoe, Overbecks, Kingsbridge Bar was reasonable price with nightly entertainment. Spotlessly clean .planning to go again next year.

A fantastic and friendly site! Very nice location and setting! The site shop was very poor, they had a very small selection of items, however a supermarket is situated 5 minutes walk away so any items can be bought from there. The swimming pool was very good, with very clean water! The park layout was excellent, with plenty of space between pitches so no body is crammed together! All in all a fantastic site! Going back soon!

We are staying here on and off for a month, due to proximity to Derriford Hospital. Given our circumstances, the owners and fellow campers could not be nicer, kinder or friendlier. The site is immaculate, beautifully maintained and clean. The showers are difficult to drag yourself out of - hot and powerful. We chose this site out of necessity and I have to say it's the best site we've ever stayed on.The pool looks gorgeous - can't wait for it to open at the end of May. We highly recommend this site.

Lovely quiet site, dogs welcome, mine loved swimming in the nearby river. Showers and loos spotless and indoor dish washing area was large and clean. Kids loved the outdoor pool and park, on site pub was ok, the meals and takeaways were lovely. Limited shop, sold basics, but Sainsburys just across the road. I think they should have barriers to gain entry though because when we stayed, several cars and motorbikes came in late at night and decided to play racing games, not nice, frightening for the little ones who were woke up. Obviously not the owners fault though and we would definitely stay again.
