We came last year, loved it and came back. Ok the weather was awful, (little understatement), but the campsite was still good. Excellent facilities and staff only too happy to help. They have added a few extras this year. A free birds of prey display, scuba diving in the pool (£10) to name a couple.
Evening entertainment for the kids, then disco afterwards. Onsite shop, takeaway, bar, amusement arcade, arts and crafts, pool, laundrette - this site really does have it all! Goodrington, Paignton and Torquay are all close by.
It was our second trip, and we're booked to go back next year. Enough said really. A good family holiday is on offer here, I suggest anybody takes it.

My husband and I stayed on this site for a couple of nights towards the end of September. On driving through the entrance, the site looks very picturesque with its barn style buildings which contain the bar, shop, reception and games room. It also has a lovely outdoor swimming pool but this was closed due to it being the end of the season.
The campsite was virtually empty and we were allocated a pitch in the bottom field which was a bit of a walk up to the bar etc, but as we're both fit and healthy we didn't really mind that. The plus side of being in this field was that it was right next to the new toilet and shower block which was very well planned out and kept spotlessly clean.
The bar was quite modern but as it was inside a barn it had a quaint feeling to it. They sold a good selection of drinks and it was a very pleasant atmosphere.
The surrounding area is lovely and Stoke Gabriel is within walking distance (20 mins) although you have to walk along the winding country road which can be a bit scary especially at night when it's dark. We also took our bikes and cycled into Paignton which wasn't too far, although a bit hilly.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay on this site and would definitely return again if we're in that area.

We booked this campsite after reading the reviews on this site. The only gripe on site page was scruffy toilet blocks and washing up area. WELL we arrived at site and put up our tent(for the first time) and the children 3 under 4 years were loving running around and were safe to do so. The site piches are quite big we managed to put up our 17ft tunnel tent and gazebo and a paddling pool and park our car. The site had lovely washing up area really clean and loads of sinks and draining boards. The play areas are lovely for little children as well as older ones and the pool is amazing so warm like getting into a bath absolutely amazing. The toilet and shower facilities were also great. Not hotel standars obviously(but then its not a hotel) But clean and tidy and nice and you dont pay for the showers etc. I cannot say enough about this site the shop is great and has everything you need and the food in restaurant is good. Paignton zoo is fantastic and definitely worth a visit. We had an amazing week at Whitehill and I will be returning asap. The price was also very good I paid approx £80 for 5 nights and got 1 night free I think.

Visited this very large site Aug bank holiday, toilets blocks and shower facilities clean and plentiful with hot water. Wonderful view across the countryside. Pitch size was the best we have ever seen, and three main fields and one overflow field with no facilities. The pitches were mainly on slopes so it was quite hard to cook on and you found yourself slipping down your airbed at night - but didn't really bother us too much. There was an adventure playground near the woods and the caravan site, and two other playgrounds on the site. The bar and cafe were very clean and modern set in what looked like a barn conversion along with an arcade and the family room where the night time entertainment was held. In the afternoon they offer children's activities ie face painting, colouring, hair beading and pottery painting -the pottery was more like plaster of paris though and quite expensive to do. Other facilities included a laundry room, and a unisex hairdryer room with plugs to bring your own hairdryer/straighteners. Also in the barn conversion was a well stocked but overpriced store. The outdoor heated pool had a life guard on duty most of the time. Site was in a perfect position for visiting the Torbay area. It was situated in the countryside away from any traffic noise. A tip for those people who are looking to spend the week there - buy a week car parking for £26.50 pass from the tourist information centres or the council. It covers the council Torbay car parks to include Paignton, Brixham and Torquay. It saves a great deal and you don't need to worry about rooting around for change all the time. The children loved Brixham in the evening after enjoying seaside fish & chips - they would go crabbing in the harbour a very cheap and enjoyable activity that keeps them occupied for ages! For an overview the site was noisy at times but did calm down when the entertainment stopped. Everything was clean and the grounds were spotless. One particular young lady in the reception was very helpful and kind. We would return but not during such a busy time of the year as we are not noisy campers and are generally tucked up in bed by 9.30pm as we have young children and the noise of people returning to their tents did wake us quite often.

This was our first camping holiday with our children, age 13 and 9, and I can only say that they had one of the best holidays ever. A very pretty campsite with plenty to do, we were fortunate to have such lovely weather too. Toilets, free hot showers and sinks only 50 yards away, about the same distance from all pitches. Lovely safe outdoor play areas, nice swimming pool, really friendly staff, a good mini market, and good evening entertainment for the kids and adults, air hockey and table tennis in the family area. There is also a small cafe/takeaway which is quite reasonable! The campsite is also very close to all the local attractions, we did the zoo, Woodlands and Quay West. I highly recommend this campsite, we had a great holiday and can't wait to come back next year!

Stayed here over the bank holiday. Good site, great facilities although could do with an update, but clean and well stocked. Site has all you could need for children, with the pool, craft centre and amusements inside. Great food at the bar/takeaway. Shop was stocked with most essentials you would need. Slightly sloping pitches, in places but nothing major. Only down side we found was there is no facility to freeze your own ice packs, you have to hire them at the shop and as you can imagine on a bank holiday weekend with the weather as good as it was they had sold out in minutes. Great surrounding area, down a country lane and central to Paignton (2 miles) and Torquay (5 miles) All in all we had a good stay there and would go back again.

Just had a week here and enjoyed ourselves. We were in the Great Orchard section and the toilet and shower facilities are excellent (just opened) There was constant hot water and plenty of toilets including a family room and disabled shower room. The cleaners seemed to be there all the time making sure they were kept up to a high standard. My sister stayed in another area of the campsite and even though the facilities there were older they were also being constantly cleaned. The pool was good with a life guard in attendance. There was a free "birds of prey" show and later in the week for a small fee scuba diving. The craft centre was useful as we had rain and the kids enjoyed it. The disco was noisy but where we were it didn't bother us.
Having been born in Paignton it was good to go back and revisit local attractions. Paignton Zoo was good value for money, Kents Cavern was also good and Dartmoor is well worth a visit. The site reception had discount vouchers for various attractions. Very friendly staff who were always willing to help.

Just back from a great week here. It is a family site, but we are a couple in our late twenties with no children and still had a great time. Clean and pleasant toilets and shower blocks. Space to plug in your own hairdryer and straighteners (very important requirement!) The kids all seemed very happy with the outdoor heated pool. Space for the adults to sunbathe round the pool, but it did seem busy at all times. Very friendly and helpful staff in all areas (bar/shop/restaurant/reception). Don't take your own ice blocks - you pay to hire theirs and they refreeze them for you (£1 to hire and 30p to refreeze). Entertainment every night ranging from singers, quizzes, bingo, disco, kids games. Sainsburys, Morrsions, McDonalds and KFC all nearby!

Fantastic site. Facilities are immaculate, more than enough toilets, showers etc. And very, very well maintained and cleaned. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location near to Paignton. Pitch size very good. Our eldest child took part in the scuba lessons arranged by the site and had a great time. Pool is great too. The site shop had everything you could wish for. We have stayed there twice and will definitely return.

Visited Whitehill holiday park. Can't fault the site, although there are pylons they soon went unnoticed. Its a very clean site with facilities which are cleaned regularly. One word of warning, the approach road from Collaton St Mary A385(stoke road)is a 30 mph for the first few hundred yards then changes to a national speed limit and becomes very narrow and bendy in places. The road is very busy and if you are towing a trailer or caravan approach with caution as the drivers coming the other direction seem to forget where the brake pedal is. (especially transit vans and pick ups) After reading this do NOT be tempted to go down Yalberton road from the main A380 as this is even narrower.
