We spent 3 nights here with two young children (2 and 3). We found the site facilities to be great for a young family. The kids loved the little play area by the pool (play houses, baby slide etc) and also insisted in going in the pool despite the freezing weather. The water was plenty warm enough and area was clean and well maintained. They also used the main kids playground every day.

We were disappointed that some of the facilities were not open when we were there (kids craft room and family games room) however this did not spoil our stay.

We used the cafe a couple of times but found it to be quite poor quality and expensive (frozen toasted teacakes served with freezing cold butter!)

We took the steam train from Paignton to Dartmouth which was a fantastic day out. Kids loved the train and then the 10 minute ferry ride. Recommend people to get to the station early though as ticket queues can be long. Because we were in a motorhome we sometimes use taxis to get around. The taxi into Paignton cost <£10.

We spent our second day wandering around Totnes as the weather wasn't good enough for the beach. Nice day out although only really enough for half a day. Would recommend the Steam Packet pub for decent food and environment - right on the riverside, just on the outskirts of town. (Taxi into Totnes cost £12)

On comparing the costs to other campsites, we felt the facilities were fantastic and the site is great value for money. We went in June so the park was still quite quiet.

This site is a little Gem. From the friendly organised arrival and welcome, to the well kept pitches, and overall cleanliness we will definitely be returning again.

As a family with young children we look for sites with 'things to do' and this site has lots and provides more! Yes a small charge is sometimes asked for (craft centre, pony rides, archery) but the owners have brought these in to make your holiday, you don't have to do them.

We had great weather (always a bonus!) and loved the BBQ by the pool. The kids loved the play parks, and even when it did rain for 14 hours straight the pitch drained well.

Was really impressed with all facilities, toilets and showers were fab, bar and cafe and shop were priced as you would expect if eating out anywhere, (on a par with our local pubs/cafes at home)

Site was busy (bank holiday) but not overcrowded and everybody was friendly.

Looked like great entertainment provided in the bars in the evenings but we didn't stay to see, though may do next time

We were pitched very near to the bar area but did not hear any excessive noise, nobody was loud going back to the pitches and no kids congregating where they shouldn't. Loved the irons and boards in the laundry and the book swap idea.

Overall a really good site that tries to make your holiday a fab one. And really close to Paignton/Torquay and loads of local attractions. Only downside was the windy country road to get to get to the site.

Site has a rural location not far from Stoke Gabriel and a 5 - 10 min drive from Paignton. There are no facilities off site within walking distance.

All on site facilities are of a good standard and kept clean and tidy. The site has a rural slightly rustic feel but is nicely done without any 'low rent' feeling that holiday parks can have

All the facilities are located at the entrance ( shower blocks excepted) but it was a long walk uphill from our pitch in the great orchard, but that does mean the evening entertainment is not in your face if its not your thing.

Bar meals and takeaway food are available & they are reasonably priced there is an offer of 2 meals for £13. 99 before 7pm. Good sized portions- the usual fayre but nicely done and tasty.

There are on site amusements, games room, crafts and a good programme of daily activities. There is a bar with inside and outside seating on a raised terrace overlooking the pool and separate bar with disco.

We stayed in the orchard field. I found it a little higgledy piggledy and many pitches slope as is it located in a dip. We were unable to book hardstanding and found that the ground in our awning area became very slippy and sticky after rain. The soil is red clay and it came up through the ground sheets. Rainwater rain straight through in and out of out awning following the gradient and didn't soak in. The good thing was that even when wet soil and mud did not transfer much off pitches.

The are several well maintained play areas for children and there is a wooded area to explore.

The heated outdoor pool is open 9 - 7pm rain or shine and is attended. Children over 8 can swim without an adult being present. There are sun loungers provided.

All in all a pleasant stay but we would probably not return to this site due to the ground conditions, layout and pitches

We booked this site at late notice and used the on-line booking facility, which worked well.

As soon as we arrived it was clear that whatever else, we were being looked after by friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff. We were taken to our pitch from the reception area by a man on a Golf Cart type thing, in 'Sweet Hill'

The pitches can slope a little and some are more exposed than others. When booking online I left a request for a sheltered pitch. We were given a pitch next to a hedge so 10/10 on that one.

The Shower/toilet block in our field was kept clean and very usable. The actual showers seemed a little low on pressure, but having left feedback to that effect I wouldn't be surprised if it is looked into before the new season next year. My Wife used the family room with our daughter and says it was excellent.

The main reception and entertainment area is at the front of the site and includes a shop and Craft centre for the kiddies. The Hayloft Bar with live acts was right up our street, while the kids enjoyed the Amusements and the Granary with its Disco. It isn't a full on commercial site, but the entertainment is there so don't expect 'Wild Camping' with no sounds.

We did try the cafe but found the food slightly lacking, again I left feedback to this effect and suspect it is another area that will receive attention over the winter.

There is also some daytime activities, in addition to the play areas (more than one). Our favourite was the Falconry where we all got to hold the Birds.

Overall, I will go back if the opportunity arises as the site is ideally located within easy reach of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dartmouth. Furthermore, the staff are excellent and that really makes for a good holiday.

Great site with great facilities. Toilets and showers all very clean although showers are the push type so can a bit hit and miss with temperature if you are in there when it is busy. Baths also available if you want one. Launderette very useful and irons/ironing boards also available if you want them. Good shop and cafe - reasonable prices. Bar gets very busy and noisy so we tended not to use it.

Swimming pool well looked after and always busy.

They also had various other activities such as segway and falconry at an additional charge.

Staff always very friendly and helpful.

Pitches are a reasonable size and site is well kept.

This was our 4th visit to this site and we would return again.

Had 10 days at this site. Not very impressed was expecting great things

The pictures are deceiving the slopes are worse than they look

You are suppose to use breathable groundsheet obviously the person before hadn't and the ground was quite muddy and slippy so couldn't site camper the way round we wanted because car couldn't pull it up the slope which was our pitch

Clubhouse was loud and did not finish at 11pm, it carried on and then we also got noisy people coming back from bar, who had no consideration for other people who were asleep. The first night we had a group standing outside our camper at 1am having a loud conversation, hubby had to get up and ask them to move as we had 2 kids in bed. For the first 5 days it was this

Also teenagers hanging around the toilets at 1. 30am why, where were the parents?

A lot of the kids were running riot, I saw on several occasions 10pm at night, kids cycling round the park, no lights on, couldn't see them

If you are one of the slopes watch out when it rains especially if you use the breathable groundsheet, like we did as they request, the water did flood our awning we got to move all our stuff which is not good when you got a kid sleeping in the awning

Daughter used the pool very cool if heated, there were kids jumping in throwing leather footballs that hit my daughter on the head, lifeguard sitting there texting on her phone, sorry but this is a communal pool and certain rules should be obeyed in a small pool

Didn't use bar or craft centre cant comment

Most of the staff were young early 20's

Its a family site but there didn't seem to be consideration for other people

Too noisy.

Only good points for me was the good location within easy reach of paignton, torquay, dartmouth and totnes never had to travel more than 10 miles, sainsburys, morrisons and asda close by

Most sites have a 11pm curfew obviously not adhered to here and there is mop for cleaning up after you had a shower some people obviously couldn't be bothered so often had to clean a muddy floor before I could have shower

Some money spent on drainage and flattening some of the pitches would be a good idea and having warden walking round at night would be good only saw him in the day once in the whole 10 days we were there

Thought we were going to a nice quiet family campsite and it wasn't been on plenty of big sites but none as noisy as this

Not our kind of site and will not be returning

The site is a well run family site, lots of open spaces, ideal for families, it is near a lovely village called stoke gabriel, and from this location it is very easy to get to lots of different places. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

The outdoor pool is heated for most of the season, the numerous toilet/shower/pot washing blocks are clean and adequate.

I cannot comment on the bar, restaurant, or family room because we didn't use those facilities, the craft centre is ideal for use when it is bad weather, The shop has a good selection of food, toys, and camping needs etc. ,

The children's' play areas are safe, although with having young grandchildren we supervised the children on the rides/swings/climbing frames.

There is some lovely walks on the site. A separate area for dog exercise.

The laundry equipment has been upgraded for this year and is much better.

The reception is well stocked with leaflets etc for places to go, things to do, a pc for use with a small charge, they have discount vouchers for attractions for the asking. Throughout the weeks there are external attractions brought into the site, some make a small charge, others are free, it is up to the individual how much or how little you want to join in,

My only tiny negative is about how to get to the site - it is down what I would call a 'narrow' country lane, although it is a bus route.

Finally we will be going back again next, what more recommendation can you get!

Daves mate said it all really, the orchard field is lovely, the amenities block there is simply wonderful. They've got some 'pods' in there too, I had a look in one as some people were just setting up, and I quite fancy trying one sometime.

We went here at Easter as a 'trial run', Mrs V8 and I are getting married in August, in Newton Abbot, and we're using this site as 'home' for the week before and a weeks honeymoon after, yes, a camping wedding! The staff have been so helpful! We've been able to book four adjacent pitches for the weekend, where we wanted, the DJ/MC (John) has said he'll tailor the nights fun for us, they've appeared genuinely pleased to help us out. That makes a world of difference.

Situation wise the site is great for the English Riviera, Literally just up the road from Paington, with some great pubs within a few miles, Hare and Hounds in Kingskerswell-brilliant!

Our 2nd visit to this site. To be honest we only booked it as we couldn't get in where we wanted to go for Easter, so glad we returned here though. The site is superb and we loved it every bit as much as we did on our 1st visit.

Staff are very friendly and the toilet blocks are kept spotless. The newer block down in the orchard field has been very well thought out and the showers are laid out in such a way that your stuff doesn't get wet on the hanger, an idea lacking in so many places. The bigger main block, although perfectly adequate, would benefit from modernisation. It gets quite cold in there, when all the showers are on and the steam builds up it can get a bit slippy as well. Also, having the washing up sinks in the shower room just seems wrong.

A previous review mentioned sloping pitches. There are a few around but none were being used during our visit and I get the feeling they're used as a last resort during peak periods. The majority of pitches are level and of a good size.

There are at least 3 play areas dotted around the site in different spots. Ideal if you've got young kids as it means you're never pitched too far from one.

Pool area was tidy and clean but water was a bit chilly (I really don't understand why sites won't heat outdoor pools for Easter). Family and bar areas are very good. Good entertainment for kids and adults alike plus reasonable prices at the bar. Food in the on site cafe is the usual campsite fare (burgers, nuggets etc) but is good quality. Yes, the activities in the craft centre do have to be paid for but while we were there free daytime activities were put on for Sat & Sun including a falconry display.

Overall we really like this place and will be back.

From the moment we arrived everything ran very smoothly, the campsite is very well run. We'd arrived early having travelled a long way through the night but were allowed to park up the van until our pitch was ready and have a wander.

The site is quite large made up of several areas but there are enough facilities on each area to mean you are never too far from toilets and showers.

The facilities on our area were new and perfect. The site has everything you could wish for on a family holiday without the 'Butlins' effect. The entertainment was great and the people running the bar and family room very friendly and helpful. A lot of pitches are quite a way from the pool and clubhouse but at least this means you are not disturbed by the noise if you don't want it and we found it a pleasant walk back, as the site was well lit.

Stoke Gabriel is lovely, and there is a nice pub serving food. Torbay didn't seem to have a decent place to eat anywhere and the car parking for beaches soon mounted up -very expensive, which is a shame as the beaches were lovely. If you are not too bothered about the beach all the better as you may as well stay at the site.

The site is situated quite close to two supermarkets and is about 3 to 4 miles from the beaches.

All the kids loved crabbing off the jetty in Stoke Gabriel.
