We have stayed at Whitehill on numerous occasions since my childhood, returning this year with my husband and 2 children. We have stayed elsewhere in Devon but always return to Whitehill because of its great facilities and beautiful location.

This is a lovely site - expensive but has entertainment, bar, outdoor pool, forest walks and kids entertainment but is not too big. Pitches are a reasonable size and the toilets and showers are lovely. Ideally placed for Torbay.

Very big site near Paignton, particularly suited to families with kids 12 and below. Access to the site is down a lane for the last half a mile or so, so I crossed my fingers when I realised this, hoping no one would come the other way towing a caravan as well. Luckily this never happened to us!
Check in was fine and followed a chap on a quad bike to the pitch. I was surprised how quiet it was for July, but all the better for having lots of 'swing' room when manoeuvring the caravan. It did get busy as we went into the next week, but never felt crowded. Electric pitch, with water opposite up, but it didn't feel right pouring the grey waste in the drain below the water tap. The toilet block was a bit of a trek from our pitch and could do with a spruce up, although for the most part they were clean.
The on site bar served some decent beers, but was very busy so we never tried the food. The weather was good when we were there so the pool was very busy, so can't have been too cold!
It is a bit of a bind having to drive everywhere but Paignton is a classic seaside town with a nice seafront and Stoke Gabriel is a fun day out crabbing and enjoying the views.

Stayed here and really enjoyed it the swimming pool wasn't heated though as stated on the web site so was freezing
We didn't use the pub and entertainment as the rooms we're so small the amusements weren't much use as most of the machines were out of order and had no change machine
The site is kept very clean and the showers and toilets are kept as clean as possible we had fantastic weather but if it would have rained there wudnt have been anything to do on site.

Moved to this site from another half way through the week and wished we had been here all along.
We loved it, there is space around the tents, lovely views, toilets and showers are clean and we never had to wait for one.
There is entertainment for the adults and children but cannot comment as we never used it. The price of drinks in the bar and breakfasts are reasonable to cheap, we never felt ripped off.
We were allowed to take our time on leaving day and not pushed off (as you are sometimes) in fact the staff were the friendliest we have encountered.
The local village is lovely with two great pubs and only £4. 50 by taxi.
The only downside is you do have to drive everywhere but the site is so cheap you can afford to use a taxi occasionally (12. 50 into Brixham).

Had a fantastic week here in our trailer tent. Family of 4. Amenities fabulous with club house, pool, launderette and shop, lots of outside space. Live music at night. Arts and crafts for kids as well as a games room.
A short drive Into Paignton but very close to supermarkets and other tourist attractions.
We went first week of holidays so not too busy.
Clean and tidy. Well maintained with friendly informative staff.
Would definitely recommend.
We had a great time and would visit again

Excellent large site but only if you are pitched on the top field Sweet Hill. Two night stay and pre-allocated electric pitch for first night was between caravans and under noisy obtrusive electricity pylon at bottom of site. Nearest toilet block totally ghastly! The worst we've seen and well worth the walk up to top field! After pitching up realised there was an empty and much nicer field with long distance views, away from pylons and with brand new modern toilet block. Staff very helpful and happy for us to move our pitch the following morning. Two star site if pitched on bottom field, 5 star if pitched on top as if its a different site all together!. Too far to walk into Paignton although bus stop outside site and no public transport available from site to Torquay. Would definitely return when in area again if guarantee of pitch on top field.

This campsite has a very good range of facilities, and was impeccably clean in every area, toilets, pool and site generally. A good well stocked shop and everyone who worked there who I spoke with was polite friendly and I always felt they were there to help. The food on sale was of an acceptable quality and good value. Good play areas for the kids, Always hot water when we wanted it, It is far enough from the town to be dark and quietish and see the stars, there is WIFI on site for those who don’t want to get away from work. In every area I felt the sight was very well run.
To balance the review what I did not like was, many of the tent pitches were on quite a slope, there are High Voltage pylons running through the site which make quite a noise in the rain. The site is big, there are many pitches and this does make it look a bit like a pop concert when full with little room for kids to run free and only 6 ft. Between the larger tents. We could clearly hear the club house music till 11pm even though we were about as far from it as was possible. I would not criticise this site as it offered a lot and the website does accurately describe everything and google maps show position, but I would not choose to stay again as I prefer a smaller quieter sites even at the expense of losing some of the 1st rate facilities, but this is more a reflection on me than the site and if possible I like a view not just of the other tents left right front and rear. I marked it down on child friendliness just because it was so big.

Excellent site which is kept spotless considering how many people where staying at the time of our visit. Pool was lovely and warm but was very busy most of the time due to the excellent weather we had. Bar prices were great at an avg of £2. 90 per pint. Toilet block was cleaned everyday. Some pitches are sloping so make sure you bring you chocks and stack pads. The main tent field at the top was particularly on a slope. Nice walk down to Stoke Gabriel for a spot of crabbing. Will certainly be back.

The noise - although this didn't bother us too much - I can sing 'leaving on a jet plane at midnight with the best of them - (our children sleep through anything) - if you want a quiet park this one is not for you.
A suggestion may be to the management to have a quiet camp area where there is a noise curfew eg 10:30pm.
Electricity pylon close to our tent
The café and Bar staff were rude.
They refuse to give out 50ps at the bar and café and the bar staff even said - after I'd explained that I'd already been to reception and got some, but that they hadn't given me enough for the 4 kids - that if I explain that to them then they may be more 'lenient' with me with giving out the 50ps. Most of the games had an option for either 50p or £1 - so it seemed as if they wanted you to spend more. Things like that just leave a bad taste in the mouth.
The first night the lights in the loo/shower block weren't on - when we reported this we were told 'we will report it, but it wont get sorted until tomorrow' - and it didn't, this was quite dangerous - but going to the loo in the dark was interesting! The other nearest loo block was quite a walk away unfortunately.
Our pitch was slightly sloped - but some are really quite sloped - so be prepared for that.
Friendly reception staff
Lots of activities to do in the rain
The pool was lovely and clean (no rubbish, clean bottom etc) with lifeguard cover
Shire craft barn
The park was great for children to explore - you could spend a whole day just doing that - finding all the different play parks & nature walks
The treasure and letterbox trail - great idea!
Clean toilet and shower blocks
