Just returned from a fab, if a little cold, first family camp of the year with friends at the Cotswold farm park. I can't wait to go camping again and to revisit this site. I can't think of a bad word to say. The farm is great and really good value for money especially when you can use your ticket for the whole of your stay, the kids loved it. The staff are really helpful and friendly and we were able to book more than one pitch without being made to feel like a group of thugs.
This site has very large pitches, and space for a second car at no additional cost. You also pay a fixed price for your pitch without having to add on extras for each child. There is a brand new toilet and shower block this year that was always clean and warm with powerful showers that is often lacking at many camp sites.
Previous comments mentioned a very muddy site entrance. It wasn't wet and muddy last weekend but there is now a stoned entrance drive which would make a difference in such conditions.
The site is very family friendly, our two sons aged 5 and 17 months had such an exciting time visiting the farm animals and play areas and joining in communal cricket games on site. It made a nice change to see that ball games were allowed. I think the families appreciated this and never took advantage of the freedom by intruding on other campers.
The sheep are also close by to visit when the farm is closed but that does mean they can be a little noisy in the early hours! Didn't notice them the second night though.
All in all it was a great weekend, at a great family site in the beautiful Cotswolds and we'll certainly be visiting again soon.

We've just returned from two nights camping at Cotswold Farm Park and we really enjoyed it. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
We arrived late in the day on a Friday which was at the tail end of a half term so the Farm Park would have been busy. Campers share toilets with the public who are visiting for the day and, unfortunately, the toilets were dirty. However, they were cleaned shortly after. It didn't help that it had rained heavily for three days beforehand so there was lots of mud being traipsed in, not the fault of the staff though!
The pitches are massive - we pitched our large tent and comfortably got two cars on the pitch as well (and we were not charged for an extra car). We had pitch number 2 which was right by the entrance to the park. The grass had been really churned up and there was mud everywhere (think Glastonbury) so a pitch in a higher number (5 or 6) would have been perfect - far enough away from the mud yet still near enough to get to the toilets easily enough. We mentioned to the staff that mud was being splattered everywhere each time a car passed and a lovely staff member carried two massive yukka plants in pots and put them outside our tent, to force the cars to drive further over! This solved the problem.
I didn't rate the showers too highly. If you are planning to stay here I'd recommend bringing a couple of bath mats with you to take into the showers with you, just to have a dry and clean spot to stand when you're trying to get dressed as my shower cubicle was very muddy and wet.
Just behind our pitch there was a little wooded area which all the kids seemed to enjoy playing in. There are 1.5km and 3km country walks through beautiful countryside. The food in the retaurant was reasonably priced, homecooked and delicious!
The farm park itself was brilliant and had lots to keep the kids happy: tractor rides, touch barn, bottle feeding lambs and baby goats, jumping pillow, zip wire, etc.
If you like your sleep a pair of ear plugs would be useful becuase there was a cockerel nearby who started a dawn chorus at approx 4am!
All in all we had a BRILLIANT weekend. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. A big thumbs up from us. We can't wait to return!

Ok - just got back today - a day early as we just couldn't cope with the mud!
Positives:
Cotswold farm Park - fantastic for young children poss upto mid teeans after that prob wouldn't want to go every day which is how you get value for money
Peacefull - even when full as majority of people have small children so does get quite after 11
Setting - who wouldn't want total country feel and a large variety of animals on your doorstep?
Woods - next to the site the children had great fun - mind you wouldn't want older teenagers having fun in there.
Manager & staff - we left a night early and as had paid in advance were not expecting a refund so didn't ask for one - very surprised when the manager gave one
Negatives
Facilities - very basic - more like festival style showers and the toilets although not that far - felt far as were part of the park not the campsite
Drainage - this was our main problem - most of the elctric hookups are across the wood end and this is where all the water drains to and then stops - so we were pitched on a bog with no chance of moving as we like having electric
Conclusion - if you don't need elctricity and can cope with a little bit of mud and only if we have had a lot of rain as I would imagine it is fab otherwise then a big yes - but also only if you are going to use the Farm Park bit - wouldn't recommend as a stopover without a visit to the farm as you can get much nicer sites for the same money or less - £18 per pitch with electric.
If you are more of a fair weather camper I would def visit the farm park but stop at the local camping and caravanning site in chipping norton.

Just back from our first camping trip of the year, staying for two nights (so we were quite glad of the rain on Friday as it proved our tent was still waterproof!) We really enjoyed our stay. It's a large, level field with well-spaced roomy pitches. You either pay at the shop when you arrive or, if you arrive after 5pm, check your pitch on a list and the warden collects your money the next morning. Prices vary according to season - we paid £10 per night for a standard pitch (Charge is per pitch rather than per person)
You can reserve your pitch in advance via their website (no payment needed), and I'd recommend it. I booked a few weeks in advance - I'm not sure if piches are allocated on a 'first booked, best pitch' basis, but our pitch was one of the several that adjoins one of the farm fields - so we had a great view of sheep and cows, with the sunset behind. Last night (Saturday) it was at full occupancy apparently, but it didn't feel crowded at all.
The campsite is attached to the Cotswold Farm Park Rare Breed Centre, which is well worth a visit, particularly for families. You do have to pay to go in, but once you've paid you can then come and go throughout your stay at the site - which is great if you're staying more than one night.
The cafe there is open from 10am-5pm and serves a reasonable range of food. There's a Coop about 5 miles away in Bourton.
Dogs are welcome in the campsite, though not in the farm park itself - there is a good walk round the farm fields for them though.
And yes - it is perhaps a three minute walk to the toilet block from the campsite - which isn't exactly a massive trek - and it does mean you get to visit the Soay sheep and Highland cattle whenever you need to go!
Overall a great site - we'd definitely go there again. Particularly recommended for children with all those animals around.

Stayed for weekend with 4 children in party aged 2-4. Fantastic weekend despite variable weather. Site lovely and large, well spaced pitches. Loads of hot water for washing up and showers. Only problem is there are no toilets on site, have to walk 100m to farm itself but the manager says they are having a toilet block fitted over next winter.
The farm is wonderful for youngsters - feeding lambs and milking cows etc. You pay once and get in free after that. Only left site to go to co-op! Will definitely return.

This was the first site of our 15 day tour
We only stayed the one night, and used it more of a stop off rather than a short break-for this purpose the site is fantastic.
The ground was level, electric hook up close buy, lovely scenery, peacefull and quiet.
The toilet block is a short walk away and is clean and tidy ,but is quite small, this also serves as the main toilet to the farm (which is the main attraction during the day)
The farm itself is very good to keep the kids ammused and we struggled to get them to leave.
Feeding the animals,holding rabbits,chicks ,
Riding peddle tractors, using the bouncy dome, chasing piglets! etc.
The brekfast at the resteraunt was also very nice, and not too expensive.
There is not a lot in the general area and we struggled to find a decent place(pub or resteraunt)that accomodated children.
Also there was not alot for children to do after the farm shuts.
It would be a good idea to provide swings and slides on the campsite or let children(suppervised) back onto the farm after hours to make use of the play areas.
We will return

Agree with most comments about the layout and friendly nature of this site.
The only negatives would be; a) the location of the toilets, which are too inconvenient (a pupose built shower/wc block is required to make this an 'A1' site), and b) the far end of the site is a rally field, which could potentialy lead to a lot of noise (not during our stay it has to be said).
The Black Horse pub at Naunton (3 miles south of the site) is recommended for good food at reasonable prices.

We were greeted by the smiling owner on arrival and the facilities explained and located. The toilet block was clean and pleasant and the showers hot! The Farm Park was a hit with both children and adults with plenty on offer to make three visits worthwhile. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and patient with the children. The cafe had a range of reasonably priced, well cooked food, the breakfast proving particularly popular. There are some excellent walks and pubs nearby. This is a lovely, clean, friendly park that was a hit with all 13 of our party. We will be back!

The campsite is right next door to the Farm Park a typical farm animal center where you can go and see various animals etc and requires advanced booking. I feel they use this convenience for visitors of the animal attraction to keep the prices higher than I would otherwise expect to pay for a site with such minimal facilities.
The cost for a tent camping only was £15 a night. The showers were free but were really not very attractive. They consisted of 4 cubicles in a rotten old portacabin and the temperature fluctuated from freezing to almost scalding hot and back again over a matter of a couple of minutes.
We booked to stay because it is advertised as discounted entry for campsite users into the farm park. In fact this so called discount is in fact paying the full entry price but being able to return again for the duration of your stay. I can't really see that it has enough interest to make it worth returning to see again and again.
What is useful is that due to it being on the farm park site there is a cafe where you can buy breakfast etc so saves having to take your own. But this is also where the toilets are and that is fairly long walk especially if you are in a pitch numbered between 10 & 20 at the far end of the field.
Overall I think poor value for money, I would expect better quality shower facilities for the money.

This was the second leg of our holiday. The weather was excellent so adds to an enjoyable experience. The pitches are very very generous with lots of room to spare. There is no deposit to pay you just simply ring to book your pitch and pay when you arrive. The shower are porta cabin but you don't notice. Attached to the campsite is a farm park which is worth every penny. We bought a family ticket for £19 and you can enter as many day as you like for the duration of you stay. The park is hands on for the children where they can watch cows been milked and even bottle feed lambs and goats. They can hold chickens, rabbits and even baby piglets, these little terrors tend to escape frequently and love raiding the picnic areas for treats. The children love it. In the evening the animals come back into the field next to your pitch so the kids can feed them again. The parks Manager can't do enough for you, he is everywhere. Our car even needed a jumpstart for a trip home due to charging equipment up. The farm manager was on hand within minutes,he also secured an extra night stay for us even though the park was fully booked over the holiday period which was very much appreciated. There is no onsite camping shop and the closet supermarkets are about 6 miles away, the visit to bourton on the water is a must on this visit. A very enjoyable trip, We will be returning to this site next year.
