A very handy location with easy access to shop, pub and local transport. Facilities very clean. Staff helpful and friendly. They make you feel they really want to help you make the most of your holiday.
Ask when booking about the sort of pitch you prefer as there are a number of options.
If there is anything that could be improved it may be the addition of more hedges in the site as it is a very open area.
We would certainly use again.

We have just stayed for 3 nights at Harrogate Caravan Site. We were welcomed by Anne and shown to our pitch by Ian. They were both friendly and very helpful during our stay. Where do you start to praise this site, the location is close to Harrogate, shops are nearby (a large Sainsbury's nearby with fuel ), and on a bus route into town. All the pitches are well laid out, well spaced, and level. The toilet block was one of the best we have used, clean, well maintained with roomy shower stalls. The added bonus while we stayed there was the visit by the red kites each evening. We will most certainly be staying at this site again.

Sorry, but I'm not as enthusiastic about this site as some of the others before. Yes, the wardens were friendly enough. Yes, the toilet facilities were clean and light and yes, its close to Sainsburys and the showground. Harrogate centre is a couple of miles away.
For me the negatives were:
Its too close to the showground and ongoing noise from it!
If you're given one of the unattractive pitches at the back close to the showground and backed onto Asda warehouses, you get all the force of the winds.
Television reception was poor. (OK I know not everyone cares about that)!

We've just come back from a lovely weekend break at the Harrogate Caravan Park. We were greeted on arrival by the friendly wardens who showed us to our pitch. The pitch was spacious, level, well drained and nearby trees provided shelter. I would advise taking hard ground pegs as the pegs didn't want to go in below 3'.
The pot wash was good with hot water on tap. There were plenty of showers and toilets which were always spotlessly clean. The changing area within the shower cubicles has limited space so be advised to take a plastic bag in to hang clothing. The adjustable showers were free and had a plentiful supply of hot water.
The site was within easy walking distance of a large Sainsbury's store but the adjacent Fodder store supplied a fantastic range of high quality groceries for something a bit more special. We would particularly recommend the Fodder sausages and burgers, lovely for the BBQ. The store also had a restaurant serving excellent food. There was a pub a short walk away also serving food but we didn't try it out on this occasion.
We found Harrogate Caravan Park to be an excellent base for anyone wanting to visit Harrogate and the surrounding areas. We will definitely make a return visit.

Our first time here and won't be our last. Very easy towing (was only our 2nd trip with the van)
Facilities are great and wardens live on site so very good quiet site. Our electrics went in our van leaving us with just 12v points, however the warden came to our rescue loaning us a hook up all weekend so we still had sockets.
Buses leave from sainsburys at the top of the road every half hour to Harrogate weekdays hourly evenings and Sunday's. Cost £3. 70 return! Or £5. 00 for day pass which also covered Knaresborough.
Pitches nice and level plenty of water points.
Very reasonable prices we will definitely be back.

Harrogate
Lovely level well organised site, friendly managers, excellent showers/toilets, separate smart washroom for people with disabilities, gravel hardstandings as well as grass. Superstore 5 mins walk, dog walks on field or footpaths just outside gate, look out for the red kite (bird of prey), bus into town (traffic is bad!), pub within walking distance (untried but reviews good) and free wifi! Strongly recommend a stay here! Nothing on site for children which suited us fine! And cheaper than club sites!

Harrogate Caravan Park is located on the site of the Great Yorkshire Agricultural Showground just a mile of so outside the town. It has hardstanding for caravans laid out around the central circular roadway, with tent pitchs available around the perimeter fence beyond.
It is a well-tended site with superb, well-maintained amenities centrally located and never too far to stroll to from anyone's plot. Showers are large, free to use and with plenty of hot water.
Although plots are located quite close together, it didn't seem unduly claustrophic. Maybe this was because it was a beautifil warm evening and everyone was in a laid back frame of mind; or whether the nature of the site is such that few people probably holiday there, most (like us) either overnighting on the way to somewhere else, or attending events at the Showground, or just weekend sightseeing in Harrogate.
Out and about, Harrogate is a popular tourist haunt, with lots of coffee shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants, though with prices to match its exclusive status. Likewise, parking in the town is quite expensive, so if you have a free bus pass use it - both to travel in, and to catch the frequent, high-quality Service 36 connecting bus to Leeds. Alternatively, there are lots of cycle trails criss-crossing the site - including a virtually traffic-free route into the town centre. Wetherby and Knaresborough are also a short drive away.
For provisioning, there is a large Sainsburys superstore at the entrance to the Showground, along with an adjacent service station. There is also a small pub restaurant about ten minutes walk across the meadow.
A minor criticism is the elsan/grey water disposal point, which (while undercover) involves hauling the wastemaster or cassette up onto quite a high lip to empty it.
Harrogate Caravan Park is therefore a well-run, conveniently-situated campsite with friendly and helpful wardens, and that is good value (£16 per night for hardstanding and ehu), making it an ideal base for either exploring the town or as a stop-over on the great trek from the South to the North along the A1M.

This was our first camping trip, Myself and my daughter stayed here for 1 night. After looking at local campsites this fitted the bill and had very good reviews.
I'm very pleased we chose this site, ideal location, very friendly and helpful staff. Very very clean facilities and all for a very reasonable price
I'll certainly be going back and would recommend the site for any first time campers :-)

A very pleasant level site with good approach roads, within easy reach of the town and on a bus route. Recently reopened with new/refurbished modern toilet block including good showers - kept very clean and smart and with a separate Disabled facility. Hard standing and grass pitches. The site wasn't full but the hot water ran out at the end of one morning. No playground but a safe environment well away from the main road. There is a handy food store and restaurant next door plus a large Sainsburys within walking distance. Excellent location for the Great Yorkshire Show, the International Conference Centre and exploring Nidderdale. The wardens are cheerful, friendly and helpful and make people very welcome with maps, bus timetables, information etc. Will happily return.

Had an excellent stay at Harrogate Caravan Park. The owners gave us a warm welcome the second we arrived. Had pitch 11 which had electric hook up and it was very well kept. The toilets and showers were very clean, Showers were lovely and hot even when they were all being used at the same time. There is a washing machine and dryer, wash up area and the usual waste water/elsan/drinking water points.
All facilities were first rate and I couldn't fault it at all. Next time we are in Harrogate we will definitely be going back to this park.
Also worth noting there is a convenient cafe and organic type shop next door and also a Sainsbury's and a bus into town at the end of the road. Perfectly situated. Well done you guys. Great little caravan park.
