First the pluses: excellent access to a lovely hard standing CL, great walks from the site, good local pubs to eat in and farm shop in village.
Friendly welcome and good advice given.
Now for the minuses: Expensive at £17.50 per night for 2 adults and a dog in early February with very basic facilities.
Nowhere to empty motor-home waste water tank.

We had a great 2 night stay in late November. William is extremely helpful and accommodating. We did, however, need his help with his 4WD to get us off the pitch after exceptionally heavy rain. Unfortunately the hardstandings were full.
The site is very easy to get to and convenient for the A303. Road noise was not an issue (but it was windy and raining, so we couldn't hear much else).
We took a train into London from nearby Pewsey (1hr 7 mins) and William told us you can also get one from Gately.
We hope to stay again soon, maybe on a hard standing if the weather doesn't improve.

Just got back from a 1 night stay at this campsite and only the second time out in our motorhome.
Campsite was lovely! Peaceful and well kept, apart from the BBQ/recycling area. Though it is easy to see that a lot of work has been done on this site with many improvement, so I am sure this will be addressed in good time. The Toilet block is basic, but clean with lovely hot showers (1 for females and 1 for males)
Would have liked a small sign maybe, pointing to the shop/ reception,(white bungalow), as missed out on freshly laid eggs etc. We will know for next time and there will definitely be a 'next time'.
Some lovely walks right on the doorstep, which our dog loved as well as us, and sampled one of the local pubs (Boot Inn- Landlady very friendly and allowed dogs in. Also had a lovely menu, which we will sample for sure on our next visit)
William, the owner, was really friendly and very relaxed about time on/off site. He has the start of a great little Campsite.

Did 2 nights in September and found it to be just the job. Okay so the toilet block could be called basic. It is camping after all. There are showers, toilets, wash up area and fire pits. Even had a 60 motor bike rally in the rally field. We were not disturbed by them at all.
William is keen to get it right and is doing great as far as we are concerned. Will definitely use his site again whenever the occasion arises. Easy to get to, easy to stroll to the pub, and easy to get back after wards.

We had an excellent stay at this campsite. The toilet facilities left a little to be desired but were under refurbishment at the time of our stay and from reading later reviews are now much improved. To be honest the basic facilities only added to the camping experience.
We were allowed a small fire outside our tent on a paving slab which shows the relaxed atmosphere of the site as there are not many places where this is allowed.
The site is surrounded by lovely countryside with horses, sheep and some very friendly chickens. William, the owner, is really helpful with lots of local information about local walks/pubs etc and keen to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.
The only down side to this campsite is the distant rumble of the A303 but as far as I'm aware there is nowhere on Salisbury Plain that this can be avoided.
Overall an excellent campsite, we will be going there again.

We stayed on this site and are very impressed.
William is so helpful and friendly.
You can have a fire which is great especially with our summers.
The site is clean and spacious. The toilets are basic but well looked after. Its nice and peaceful in a great location.
The Boot Inn is an easy walk up the footpath and serves great food and well kept beers/cider.
Overall we will definitely return with some friends.

A small site with very basic facilities but these can be overlooked given the warm welcome you receive from William and the cosy and friendly atmosphere here. There is space for approx 8 tents (3 with elec hookup), although pitches are not marked so it is first come first served! Ground is quite rocky so metal pegs are a good idea.
Fires are allowed on slabs that are dotted around the site and there is a big fire pit for larger groups to gather around which is a real bonus and unusual to find at many sites.
Being a smaller site encourages people to mix more and our 4 year old son was quick to make new friends. William (owner) was good enough to take the kids across to collect the freshly laid eggs in the morning, which he sells to campers.
Prices seem to vary, depending on the size of tent so it is worth asking when you book.
We certainly enjoyed our stay and will be back, if nothing else just for the novelty of cooking over an open fire, but the lack of good facilities will not be to everyones liking.

One of the most welcoming sites we have ever visited. The chap in charge William was so hospitable and friendly. Small site with toilets and showers and facilities for having your own campfire. You can go foraging for kindling in the nearby woods or there are logs for sale. Lovely country walks nearby - pubs in walking distance. We will definitely visit again.

Myself and my family (and dog) have just returned from this site. We stayed in a campervan with awning.
The site has a beautiful location and is a small friendly site. The owner and his family were extremely obliging and helpful.
Being able to have campsites (next to the tent or in fire pits) is just great and adds so much to the camping experience.
Couple of things we did notice - the recycling area does look a little scruffy and while we were there the showers weren't working (which is why we've marked down the facilities a little) but these are things that the owner is working on and we've no doubt things will improve. The rest of the site was immaculate and well laid out.
Plenty to see and do in the area (Stonehenge being only a couple of miles away, Longleat is nearby, the New Forest makes for a good day out, Lymington and the coast aren't too far and Salisbury city is worth a visit too), great pub food just down the road at The Boot (walkable distance).
All in all a great visit.

A lovely area to camp. William who owns the campsite was extremely helpful and very kind.
I hadn't been camping for a number of years, and this was a great experience.
The camp site was by a field with lovely sheep and horses that were kept separate by a fence.
There were two local pubs nearby, in walking distance, although a torch would definitely be needed for the walk back as roads aren't lit very well at all at night.
The shops closed fairly early (9pm)
Overall really enjoyed my night camping experience!
