Now the site has new wardens and a recently refurbished Men's Shower Block as well as a new Ladies Shower Block. It really is an ideal site from which to explore Wiltshire. The new wardens are very proud of the site and intend to improve it further. All staff are very friendly and helpful and keep the facilities spotlessly clean. The utility area has everything the camper might need and a washing machine and tumble dryer are on order. If you have been before please revisit again and you will see the improvements that have taken place. A short walk away in Berwick St James is a farm shop that serves teas, coffees and home made cakes as well as other goods, and have a friendly chat with Maralynn the owner. First class meals can be had at nearby pub 'The Bell'. The site owner has landscaped the site very tastefully and has given a lot of thought to the habitat of local wildlife. So please do visit this site you will not be disappointed. We would not hesitate to recommend this site.

Had a really enjoyable 2 night stay over a nice frosty weekend. The site is well maintained and keeps its rural charm and the pitches were well kept and flat. Choose the site as it's very local for me, so good to get away camping after work at 5pm on a Friday night.
The wash-up area has lots of local information, fresh eggs for sale and also some kitchen appliances for use.
The ladies facilities are very good with the chaps lagging behind, but it looks like improvements are afoot. Not a problem though as I don't think us men are too choosy!
There was excellent walking directly from the site and a couple of pubs close by, with others on walking routes but a little further afield.
The wardens were friendly and good for a chat about the local area and the unfortunate planning restrictions that the site has to adhere to.
Given the time of year, the tent camping fields were empty, so my labrador enjoyed the space for chasing his ball and one of the owners dogs joined in the game.
Whilst we were there we also took a look at the 'glamping' pods for our non-camper owning friends; they were very tidy and had everything that would be needed for a cosy stay.
All in all a good site, with good walking and dog friendly. Will definitely be returning.

We have just got home from yet another delightful stay at this site. Three days, enough to recharge our batteries and make us feel as though we've been away much longer. The site is as good as ever, unpretentious yet with everything we need : good pitches, EHU, hot showers, bus stop right outside ! The owner's planting of native trees, shrubs and flowers is magnificent and is well looked after. We were lucky enough to have three days of glorious weather which made our trips into Salisbury, Wilton and Devizes all the more enjoyable. Even the bus drivers are lovely in this part of the world ! We have now had four or five short breaks here around this time of the year and this will most certainly not be the last.

We have recently returned from a short break specifically to visit the New Forest and Stonehenge and other areas so we weren't looking for anything special as we were travelling out on the motorbike every day, but were pleasantly surprised by this site.
There was plenty of space and we had a lovely area all to ourselves. The ladies' toilets/showers are great the men's are not as good but there are plans for improvements.
The staff were always available and very friendly really can't praise this site enough.

We stayed at this fabulous campsite over the May Bank Holiday and we had a fantastic time. Will and Elaine were brilliant, very laid back, and helpful. This is a great site, just big enough for some nice atmosphere, and small enough to feel friendly. We hired a fire pit, and it was worth the extra cash between the 7 families to have some warmth in the evening.
It was perfect for families and they try to keep the centre of the fields free for football and cricket etc.
The ladies loos are great, and look brand new (and clean), take 20p's for the shower. Mens block could do with a bit of work. The pitches are flat and the grass is short and well kept.
We walked from the site to The Swan at Stoford (there was a beer festival ), it was a 4. 5 mile walk and took 2 hours, it was beautiful, and traffic free.
The whole site, and the wardens have a great ethos; there is an honesty box for eggs in the rather rustic reception, Will was prepared to pick us up from the Beer festival, the list goes on, we will definitely be back.
Lastly, they would make a fortune selling tea, coffee and breakfast rolls in the morning!

Just had a couple of days here on the way back from Cornwall. Facilities first:
The ladies toilets were new and the showers cost 20p for 2 minutes or a £1 for ten Minutes, wife said it was nice. The Gents on the other hand was not so new, but the shower was free. Both men's and ladies toilets were clean. There is a washing up area, chemical disposal point and the reception area stocked up with helpful guides on places to go.
People and location:
The warden met us as we drove in offered us the choice of two pitches, and gave us a map of the area showing pubs, farm shop and walks. In the corner of the map were even two phone number to ring if you got lost, how good is that. This site is very dog friendly and there are some great walks for the dogs.
As we drove in we thought wow what a lovely site and would we stay there again you bet we would.

We booked this site at short notice for a quick break, as it's not too far from home. It's clear that a lot of work has gone into setting up the site, and layout, hard standings and planting is a credit to the team.
Pros:
Hard standing pitches are level have power, water and individual picnic tables
Location is convenient for A303, and plenty of scope for walking locally
Pub and farm shop in Berwick St James are very good, an easy walk and typically English.
Cons:
Temporary / portacabin loos & showers - preferred to use our own facilities
Advertised WiFi was dreadful - we paid £6 for 48 hours and it was available for only about 6 hours of that time.
Not all the hard standings will work for larger units, so make sure you check in advance
A303 visible and audible. Would be very noisy if you were in a tent. However it is a very convenient location, if stopping off overnight.

Stayed here for three nights from the 28/01/2013 in the Glamping Pod. I arrived late in the afternoon in high winds and heavy rain, had booked a tent space but enquired to see if any of the Pods were free and luckily for me they were, so I took one. I had a very comfortable and cosy three night stay in that little Pod, very good, beats a tent especially in foul weather, and a B&B room I would say, and its much cheaper than a B&B room. It was well equipped with a kettle and toaster crockery and cutlery etc etc, it had two heaters which kept the place nice and warm, a fan plus lights everywhere, a nice double bed with a single bunk up top and a single sofa bed, can sleep four obviously.
Outside there was a BBQ and Fire Pit for cooking, plus a wooden bench-table and some fold up fabric chairs. As I say, I really enjoyed my little stay in that Pod, was comfortable cosy and warm and peaceful and quiet.
The facilities at this site were good or very good I would say, especially the washing up kitchen area which has a kettle and fridge pots and pans and crockery and cutlery for campers to use free of charge, very useful if you were in a tent, they also supply washing up liquid free there. Toilets and showers were quite good also, clean and adequate, showers were free likewise toilet paper, the water was hot enough, just right. Generally speaking the whole site-place looked well looked after and maintained, clean and tidy etc etc.
I would definitely recommend this site and the Pods they have there, plan to return soon for another stay in one of the Pods, I got a real good deal on price when I arrived, real good. The staff here were very good, they were there when you wanted them and left you alone when you didn't.

After reading the reviews of this site, we were looking forward to a winter break - our first trip out this year.
However, we were very disappointed with the site and the facilities were certainly below the standard of any sites we have stayed on. The toilet and shower block (which was a plumbed-in portacabin) was very old, shabby and gloomy. Yes, there was hot water and loo roll, but only one shower (which was OK) in the women's side and one in the men's (which was old and badly fitted). Three female loos - cramped and very tatty, but reasonably clean. Only 1 men's loo was in with basin and shower + portaloo in nearby field.
The site itself was OK - probably more attractive in the summer. Hardstanding was level and big enough with EHU and taps nearby.
We liked the sound of all the nearby pubs with log fires, but found that the Bell - half a mile away was boarded up and for sale. The Boot Inn in the village looked lovely, but whilst it was walkable in daylight - part of the walk was on the unlit B3083 and part through fields so no chance of a cosy evening meal at this time of year. No other pub within walking distance. No TV signal at all either!
The information about the site and distances to places is very misleading. We left early and wouldn't go back there.

We found this campsite through UKCampsite.co.uk. Very warm welcome from the warden, showed us around and as it was a midweek stay gave us a choice of where to pitch. We have electric hookup and had no problems with it, also paid £12. 00 for the use of the internet.
The toilet facilities were fine, kept clean and well stocked with cleaners and loo roll. I would imagine that if site was full you may have to queue. On the plus side new toilet and shower block will be installed shortly. Showers hot and no extra charge. Two portable showers no so hot, but both kept clean.
The dish washing facilities were of a very good standard, with fridge and kettle if anyone wanted to us. Plenty of information on boards there. The owner very helpful to anywhere you would like to visit. Very clean and well numbered pitches with plenty of space between tents. We did not use the fire pit as had electric but others camping used them every night. Would be very happy to return in the future.
