My partner and I have just spent a weekend at stonehenge campsite. This was by far the best campsite we have stayed at. With friendly staff, communal kitchen (with fantastic cooking facilities) and clean toilets/showers we couldn't have asked for a better weekend. We stayed in one of the glamping pods which was warm and cosy and even had it's own mini kitchen which we found really helpful as we didn't have to worry about bringing anything with us. The setting of the site was peaceful, perfect for a relaxing weekend away. We would definitely come again! Thank-you.

This campsite is one of the nicest I've ever stayed at. Liane and Dave the wardens made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. The facilities are amazing. The communal kitchen and the luxury showers / toilets are the best I have ever experienced on a site. Being a female on my own I was a little apprehensive about going away but I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The little touches like being able to have a cuppa in the camp kitchen and mini toiletries, if like me you forgot any of you essentials are a wonderful touch! I had such a lovely relaxing time I have already booked up to return in 2 weeks. Thank you Liane, Dave and William. See you very soon!

Terriffic site, clean and friendly. Managers very helpful and apologetic about construction work going on at time of our visit. Well thought out site with lots of ideas we have not found on other sites we have visited. Showers/toilets very clean and warm, a must when visiting this time of year!Added bonus this morning being invited to hand-feed the resident Alpacas. Camping kitchen also a great bonus with complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate and every facility to cook a meal. Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer also available in Campers kitchen. Another great bonus.
Returning next month. Need we say more!

Booked this site for a Bell Tent group I am a member of, we had 9 bell tents over New Year. Liane was brilliant throughout the booking process and her and Dave were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. The toilet / shower facilities were second to none and would put many hotels to shame! An extra bonus was the campers kitchen - it was a fully fitted kitchen available for use free of charge. An excellent site with incredibly well thought out facilities. Definitely be booking again. If there was an option I would have given more than 10 out of 10!

Have just returned from a short break at Stonehenge Campsite (using it as a base to explore the area). Wow what a great little site. Their mission statement is 9/10 and I am sure by next year it will be 10/10 !
It is very clean and well kept, have stayed on clean sites before but this takes it to the next level. The wardens are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble - can't remember a more happy greeting. With a campers kitchen available and tea/coffee to boot as well as full washing machine and tumble dryer facilities, it has been well thought through. And such a great touch of being able to have a real campfire! Would highly recommend this site and look forward to returning again at the end of Sept.
Amazing keep up the great work. John and Sara Hazell

Stayed for 2 nights 15/16th August. Had phoned previous day to check if there was availabilty for 2 tents, four adults, one child plus a dog and spoke with Lianne who apart from being very courteous and helpul, explained a few things and confirmed that would be ok.
We arrived around 10. 30, way before the normal pitch up time of 1 ish but that was not a problem. Once you have crawled through the traffic from either direction on the A303, this site os SO easy to find. The wardens despite being busy took a few minutes out to make sure we knew where things were, where we could pich and so on.
Due to the owners/wardens careful thought and consideration, this site not only looked good but felt calm and very well organised right from the start, a feeling that stayed the same throughout our short stay. Not only can you help yourself to complimentary tea/coffee but there was a basket of free range eggs from a local farm for 20p each (honesty box) and something to cook them in and on, what a nice touch!
We chose to walk to Stonehenge which took around one and a half hours and were greeted by a burly security guard who informed us that in order to enter we would have to walk another mile and a half to the visitors centre where we could pay the extortionate £14. 90 each as there were no ticket facilities at the entrance to the site. We were not the only ones facing this predicament and decided to head back, nice one British Heritage.
We ate at the Bell friday night, nice beer and good pub grub.
We spent Saturday at Avebury, £7 to park for the day (which makes the entrance fee to Stonehenge look even worse. ) and thoroughly enjoyed the full walk around the Stones etc. The Red Lion was very busy but a great place to sit outside with a beer and rest our legs.
Ate at the Pelican Inn Saturday night and cannot rate it highly enough, quality food and some tempting specials on offer.
The loo/shower facilities are new for this year and are closed between 11 and 1 for cleaning. Yes, at peak times they get real busy so be prepared to queue but just remember they are free to use and for what you pay per pitch here, you really can't complain.
Would recommend to any campers out there, especially those like us with a dog, apart from growling at that Security Guard, he loved it too!

This was our first site in our new motorhome. It is a small site, but ideal for us as novices. We had our own designated hard standing with grass area surrounded by its own hedge giving privacy and picnic bench. The resident wardens were helpful and friendly. Toilet and shower blocks very clean. Camping/cooking facilities good. Very quiet at night. Lovely walk along the brook to the local pub. We walked to Stonehenge. Good 5 miles, make sure you have a map! We will certainly go back there and would recommend it.

This camp site is situated just off the main road it is quiet and very quaint, there is two footpaths one leading to the village pub and the other to the pub on the main road. We have never been to a camp site that has been so clean not to put other sites down but this is exceptional, there is a campers kitchen fitted with cooker, microwave fridge and laundry facilities, Stonehenge is only a 5 minute drive away, Just make sure you have cash as they don't deal with plastic

We arrived on Friday afternoon for the summer solstice, the site was easy to find, the wardens were attentive, helpful, friendly and very informative, we had the choice of 2 fields to pitch our tent, one was the party field and the other a family field, we chose the latter, we were given the choice to camp anywhere in field as long as your neighbours had adequate room, once the tent was erected and unpacked the car we had to move the car to another field/car park. The site had a block which housed the toilets, showers (£2) information board/office, kitchen (did not use). There was additional solar showers and portable loos (these were cleaned daily), there was also a bar in a barn with TV, music, bands and fairy lights, the site also had a food/BBQ stand and a pizza retailer, did not go off site except on the free bus for the solstice, (so cannot comment about the area), would return to the camp site again to explore the local area, pubs, walks, footpaths.

Summer solstice weekend 2014. This is a really nice site. People were really friendly and helpful. It was pretty well organized. As it was the solstice weekend there were extra services on offer (bar, food vans, extra loos, shuttle bus etc). Not sure what it's like on a normal weekend.
I think the posh showers/loos in the picture are usually avaialable to all, but we had to use the portable ones on the solstice weekend, for obvious reasons. Think they kept the nice ones for caravanners.
Just a word of warning for anyone thinking of going on the summer solstice weekend: The wood-fired pizza van was fantastic, really nice breakfast pizzas too. But the guy serving up pet-grade burgers and sausages at the other stall is to be avoided at all costs. One bite each and all straight in the bin. Luke warm, pre-cooked gristle and cold, lumpy, grated dairy analogue in a bap. Yuck. Honestly surprised nobody got sick. Stick to the pizza - it's great.
The pub just down the road in Berwick St. James is brilliant - food was outstanding. We had to book and they turned another group away, as it's quite small, but it was a very busy weekend for the local area, so you might get away without booking at other times of year. Easily walkable in about 10 minutes across a couple of fields with pathways, and a little stretch along the road.
Shuttle bus to the stones was great on the way there, except they have to drop you quite far from the stones themselves so there's still quite a walk. On the way back there was quite a big queue for the shuttle bus and we were tired so got a cab.
The bar at the campsite was great - loads of choice of beer and cider.
Not sure which of the above is/isn't there on a normal weekend. But would definitely like to go back and find out.
