Beautiful site with hard standing pitches, water and electric hook up. Set in a very picturesque area only few minutes drive from the stones, and a few minutes walk from a lovely village & local inn.
The man on site was really friendly and always busy tending to the grounds to keep everything looking fab.
The showers and toilets were very clean and all round we really enjoyed our stay there.
The site owners dog paid us a visit and sat in the van with us which I was glad about as I was missing my own pets so it was nice to have someone to stroke
I would definitely recommend this site to anyone who was thinking of visiting the area

Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend and had arranged a group with 19 tents and fire pits. Everyone had a really good time and both Jo and Will were really friendly and helpful but I would say there were things that were not as good as we hoped.
There were a number of large groups that weekend and the Landrover group were given priority and it meant our cars had to be parked away from our tents and we were cramped into a corner on one side. The particular field wasn't designed for that many tents. The firepits are not far apart enough to allow more than one group and again our pitching had to consider other people that had booked the pits (which we made sure were clear) but again, not very well organised on the sites part. The final complaint is the hiring of the firepit. Costing £10 per night you wouldn't expect to have to dry out the wood first and had I not taken my folding saw we wouldn't have been able to use it. A simple cover over the wood and the use of a bow saw and axe would have make that much nicer.
It is really good for groups and no question that it is a relaxed campsite which is great. The basic services are available which is all you need. I would suggest if you do want to book a group though with a firepit, check the size of the other groups. Any more than 15 in the other group means you really will not have space near your campfire. We made the best of the space but shouldn't have had to.

This is our second visit in two months. This site is absolutely perfect for a quick getaway - we live an hour away but would travel much further if we had to. The hardstanding pitches are huge, each with its own well kept lawn area, EHU and water and a short walk to the toilet block. We heard from the lovely owner, William that he is awaiting delivery of another toilet and shower block in time for this summer which will more than double the facilities available. Last time we were here we got the bus into Salisbury - 30 mins through lovely country villages and this time went the other way to Devizes and walked the 27 lock flight on the Kennet and Avon canal - fascinating. On site you can do as much or as little as you want, lovely walks or sit outside (wrapped up !) and watch the varied wildlife. The adjacent field is currently full of snowdrops and William's massive planting programme (approx 5, 000 native shrubs and trees) is beginning to take shape. We were also treated to a flypast by Apache helicopters from Salisbury Plain, a delight for small boys ! All in all the most delightful site we have found in the UK and one we will definitely be visiting again.

It was a really cold week and we were the only tent at the time! Thank goodness for the warm showers and the lovely little pub in the village about 10 mins walk away, otherwise we would have turned into snow people!
The pub served food that is out of this world, I even tried pigeon for the first time! The owner is really friendly and we chatted for ages, he has gorgeous dogs.
The neighbouring horse was friendly and we loved stroking him! The walks from the site are varied and excellent with lovely views with it.
Would definitely visit again though it will be strange to see other people on it!

A fantastic little site only four miles from Stonehenge.
Stayed one night and loved the place, nice and quiet, a little road noise can be heard in the distance, but hardly enough to worry anyone or keep you awake.
Its only a small site, I stayed on one of the hard standing pitches which all have EHU, and running water, loads of room for your camper and awning if needed.
These pitches are very close to the facilities, so not far to go in the middle of night.
The facilities are basic, but well kept, although I would think at peak times you could have a wait, as far as I could see there is one toilet and shower for men and the same for women, although there are also a few portaloos next to the main facilities. These were also very clean and didn't have that normal portaloo smell.
There are also sinks for washing up, and yes as mentioned before they are a little higher than normal but that's perfect for me, as it saves getting back ache bending over doing the washing.
Plenty of leaflets and general information available in the washing up area. Also the owner seems very helpful and will give you all the information you need.
Also for those who like there internet while camping, the site seems to have a good mobile phone signal for calls and internet(Vodafone and Three).
In general a great site well worth visiting, I think the only negative would have to be number of toilets and showers, not a problem off peak, but I'm sure could be an issue during peak times, would be nice to see some more installed in the future.
Hopefully I'll get back there again in a few weeks, and try out some of the cycle routes.

The site is easy to find and just outside the lovely village of Berwick St James which had a great looking pub called the Boot Inn which you can walk to via footpath from the site. At first glance, I liked what I saw, a large open field for tents and a few hard standings for us campervan/motorhome/caravans.
Water and electricity was directly behind my pitch but I decided not to hook up. The toilet and shower facilities were a little shabby, but they worked and the water was hot, which is all you need right?
Though the site had David Bellamy awards, there was no pee bail, any site that deems itself green must have a pee bail! I also had to fight the hot tap to turn it off - it ran for around two minutes before turning off - that annoyed me a little.
I was also annoyed at the price - fifteen quid! Luckily I paid around twelve as I wasn't on hook up but compared to some of the places I had just been, I thought that a little high.
William turned up in his range rover (not very green) but seemed a nice enough chap and encouraged me to review the site on here - so I am, hope my honest review was good enough.
All in all, a good stop-over site.

Stayed for 2 weeks and loved the tranquil atmosphere of the area. It has been given a David Bellamy award for it's eco friendly approach and you can tell with lots of hedges and plants that have been planted to make the place look like you are staying within a nice little corner of nature. It's also in a lovely part of the country with great views, and nearby public footpaths with some nice walks to some great local village pubs with warm atmospheres. Facilities are fine, just what you need, plenty of hot water, good shower and various toilets, and an excellent deal including electricity and water, all you need. The owner William is very friendly and helpful when you need it. Definitely be back again!

Stayed on Williams site with a caravan for 3 days. Excellent little site with all the facilities we required.
William is a very 'hands on' owner and nothing is too much trouble. He is constantly updating and improving the facilities and landscaping. He was arranging extra electrical plug in points whilst we were there.
The shower and toilet facilities were not up to Caravan club standard but I felt they were more than adequate. I believe that when he finally gets permission to put a sign up on the A303 this will be a very hard to get on location.
I can thoroughly recommend this site.

My husband and I have just spent the August bank holiday at this lovely camp site. The location of the site was quiet and very pretty. We have two dogs and the fantastic walks directly from the site were great. There was lots of different walks to enjoy and a lovely little village with pub and farm shop.
The showers and toilet were basic but the site manager informed us that there are plans to upgrade these in the near future. We used our own shower and toilet for our stay.
There was a main camping field for tents and a small area with electric hook-ups.
The small camping area for motor homes and caravans was very well kept and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely return again. We had a really relaxing time.
The local area was fab - Stonehenge was around three miles away. The city of Salisbury was also near with lots to do and see.

I don't think anyone could complain about this campsite. What more do you need when you go camping. Clean toilet, hot shower, hot water for washng up, pub close by and campfires literally encouraged, with your firewood supplied for free. Too easy.
The owner William seems to genuinely care about the welfare of the campers and is always on call when an emergency might occur - running out of fresh farm eggs!
