Sept 03 Spent a weekend at this site. Very close to Hawkshead village, a minutes walk away from four great pubs.
It was expensive, but shower/toilet/washing up and games room were good standard. 9/10.

august 2003 We have just spent over a week at this camp site and loved every minute. As already said, it is a flat site and sheltered. The walk into Hawshead is just a couple of minutes, we used the the post office off-licence for our takeway booze, we found them to be cheaper than the Co-op. The sites shower/toilet facilities were kept clean and also the wash-up sinks very tidy and the hot water was free. The village clock didn't bother us any, we loved it.

July 2003 Tent pitches are all flat & toilet & shower facilities very clean - spotless in fact. Showers cost 20p & socket for hairdryer costs 20p. Facilities for washing up were ok & laundry with washers & dryers at reasonable cost. Staff very friendly & site is well used but no noise after 11.00 which is adhered to. Very centrally located right in Hawkshead village - with well stocked co-op, post office & 5 pubs all with great food.

oct 2002 .The site is well situated, the village of Hawkshead just a short walk away. Lots of walks in the area and lots of interesting stuff about Beatrice Potter, Wordsworth etc Village has a co-op so all food requirments are easily met plus post office and hostileries !!!!Easy to find from instructions supplied. Overall a very nice place to stay but if like me you are a light sleeper the village clock could be a problem striking on the 1/4 hr and doing a full bing bong on the hour coupled with cows and hooting owls no guarantee of a full night sleep !! But we enjoyed our stay here and would reommend it to people not wanting a lot of entertainment - content with the quiet life !!!!Janis

July 2002 Good site with very friendly staff. Not very many water points, and whilst the toilets were well maintained.
The games room is very good.
I will definitely visit again, this is a superbly located site with a short 1 minute walk into Hawkshead, but no problems with noise whatsoever. The shop is not great but you're only 300 metres or so from the late opening Co-Op (which has cashback), so that's probably why.
I have to thank this site because my hook-up lead was not long enough so they lent me one without having to put down a deposit.
There is probably not a better located site in the Lakes (and that includes Fallbarrow Park) and it is well worth visiting.
The TV reception is not the greatest here, and we ended up using a powered signal amplifier ('magic wand'). The games room has a couple of TV's in it plus tables and chairs, so they understand the situation!

Aug 1997 Very friendly staff meet you on arrival.
The toilet/shower block was exceptionally well maintained, very clean.
The pitches are all on the flat, overall a very nice site.
