Great staff, large pitches, terrific showers, nice landscaping. Very particular on rules, regs and pitching - but they are doing it to make sure everyone is happy.
We went as a group and we weren't able to put our tents and day tents a bit closer together like we would prefer as it would break their 6m rule. But after seeing the way some sites cram them in (like the one next door!) I'm really not complaining. We took loads of kids, and although its didn't strike us as a big 'family' site they enjoyed the park, playing football and exploring the area.
We'll be returning.

Just got back from a very peaceful week here and cannot praise it enough. The hedges around the site give it a cosy feel. The showers have superb pressure, even better than my powershower at home. Shame the loos aren't a bit stronger flush though. Friendly helpful staff good facilities peaceful site and plenty of places nearby to visit. What more can I ask for. Oh and dozens of bunnies.

As with all C&CC sites I've visited the toilets/showers were clean and I believe sufficient in number for the size of the site.
Just one thing to note though is that they, and the dishwashing area are out of use from 11 - 12.30 everyday for cleaning, which I felt was a slightly inconvenient time, but that maybe just because I like a long and relaxing breakfast etc. Before tackling the pots!
The site was quiet and appeared more geared towards older people and couples than children, although there was a very small play area. But as I do not have children this suited me fine. (Having said that there is another field where balls games can be played out without the risk of hitting anybody's unit which I thought was a good idea.) There is a lovely walk alongside the canal (which is immediately outside the campsite) and about 20/25 mins along the tow path is a nice pub (The Barge Inn I think). Can't comment on the food as I didn't eat there though.
The dog walking area is small but better than nothing for somewhere to pop to first thing, and as the tow-path is so close decent walks are nearby.
I only stayed for a weekend, but would definitely return again, however I have many more sites to explore this year so maybe next.

First time we have stayed at this site, staff very helpful. Toilets very clean and tidy in the centre of the site so very easy to get to. Local pub only a minute away food good. Only downside was that the hardstanding was very hard we had to buy steel pegs to put up our awning and the stone were large so we had to keep our shoes on even with the ground sheet down.

This was the 1st time camping since a child and this site is 1st class. The staff are friendly, the toilets and site are really clean.
There is a lovely walk (woodland) attached to the back of the site which the children loved.
Also the canal is 1 min away when you walk of site, this is a really nice walk, with loads of locks to watch the boats go through.
Will definitely be going back.
Keep up the good work site crew a real pleasure to spend the weekend with you.

Excellent site staff very, friendly and helpful. Toilets and showers kept very clean. Lovely walks along the canal, good location only 4 miles from either melksham or dezises and both have good shops and restaurants. Good child friendly pub at entrance to site.

Spent a long weekend here twice now its great.
Toilet block is so clean, never had to queue at all. All the staff are so friendly, they take you to your pitch and ask if you need any help,a real personal service.
Right beside the canal, turn left and you can walk up past all the locks to Devizes, turn right and you can walk to the barge inn about 20 mins. As you pull in to the site you go past the three magpies which has no problem with dogs. If you need shopping Devizes is about 10 mins away by car with morrisons, Sainsburys and Tesco, plus many other shops.
Play area on site if you have children, if you don't like us then you can get pitches away, Dog walk on site as well. Will go back again!

Just got back from a sunny Bank Holiday weekend at this tranquil, pretty campsite, and had a really relaxing break!
The site really is a nice one - level and spacious pitches, with plenty of greenery around in the form of grassy areas, trees and hedging. The 'Centenary Wood' makes a pretty walk, and there is an additional dog walking area (note: you cannot let your dog off-lead at all anywhere on-site, however, there are footpaths across the fields and along the canal towpath from right outside the site entrance).
Large play field for children, as well as a small and neat play area with swings and a slide, centrally located so you can keep an eye on little ones.
There is a shop and large toilet/shower block on site, as well as handily-placed water points. Plenty of EHU and a few (15) non-EHU spaces. A mix of grass and hard-standing, as well as a motorhome service point - everything you could think of really.
Quiet site except for a few noisy neighbours - the Three Magpies Pub seems to have regular entertainment which is handy as it's literally a few yards from the site, but can be noisy until about 11pm or so. It wasn't too noisy though, and apart from this it is a peaceful area.
The canal is right next to the campsite though you have to go out of it to get to it, it is a pretty and peaceful walk in either direction. We also went to Caen Hill flight of locks, whch is an extremely pretty area and perfect for walking.
Bath is about a 30 minute easy drive, and I fully recommend using Bath Thermal Spa as it is heavenly! You are spoilt for choice for eating out and shopping in Bath, but also look out for farmers markets as there seemed to be quite a few around, including one in Devizes, a nice, small market town with a few supermarkets. There is a large Tesco in Trowbridge as well.
We didn't visit many places whilst there as we were too busy sunbathing and BBQing! But we did go to Lacock and highly recommend the King John Tearooms which serve fantastic cakes!
I can't praise the wardens and staff enough at this site, they were supremely helpful and friendly, above and beyond what was called for. We are already planning our next visit, and are taking friends as well!

2nd visit to this lovely site, clean, staff and people very friendly, cannot help you enough, had a fab 3 days here over the weekend, lovely walk along the canal. Great pub just outside the entrance, and lovely sunny weather, wonderful. Again shame we had to come home. Will be booking again next year. If you like rabbits there are a plenty of those, lovely dog walk area, plus a wooded / bushed area to walk around, and the site is definitely worth a visit, quiet and peaceful.

Spent 3 days on this pretty well laid out site with very clean facilities. Were assisted with siting and pushing our caravan by friendly young CCC man. Very near the canal and the walk past the many locks was a sight to see. OH enjoyed a day fishing in canal. Devizes is 4 miles away, reached by walk or cycle ride along tow path, by car there is a long stay car park signposted The Wharf or a bus near the site. Excellent market on Thursdays. Will use this site again.
