Definitely the best site visited this year and have already made reservation for the late summer. Very easy access. Staff and facilities second to none. All pitches are easily got on to with a nice space between each unit. Some lovely walks behind the huge dog walking area. Good bus service to Devizes just opposite site entrance. Brilliant shopping and markets in Devizes. On arrival I was taken to my allotted pitch and assisted parking up. Also as I am disabled given a spot near the disabled toilet and a key to get in. The only prob. for me was that the week I was there was the week when all hedges were trimmed and all grass cut, so for three days The wail of hedge trimmers and the chuntering of the lawn mowers filled my otherwise peaceful rest.

The wardens at this site are about the most helpful we have met. They went out of their way to sort out a request we had regarding our dogs even before we arrived. They continued the good work throughout our stay. The welcome was as friendly and helpful when we arrived.
The site is immaculate and beautifully maintained. All pitches with hook-up are fully hardstanding and so we needed extra pegs for our awning. It is very quiet, with no road or traffic noise - although the Blackbirds and Robins could be a bit noisy at dawn!
There are dog walks along the canal nearby, in a field near the entrance and at one end of the site.
The nearby pub serves good food and has a nice garden. The walks along the canal are very pleasant and there are many interesting places to visit by bike or car in the area.
The only minor downside for us was the toilet and shower block. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained but we felt it was just a little too small for the size of the site. There were 4 WCs and showers and 6 wash hand basins in the gents' and 4 showers with 6 WHBs and WCs in the ladies'. There was always some queueing in the mornings. This really is a minor point but one to consider in high season although the site was nearly full for our visit.
In short this is a very well maintained and well run site in a very good location. Would recommend it without hesitation.

Very nice site. The wardens were friendly and helpful. The toilet block was warm, clean and pleasant. The situation is quiet and close to the canal, with an easy walk to Caen Hill locks and Devizes. The only downer was that my wife came down with a bad case of gippy tummy after eating at the pub (The Three Magpies). I can't guarantee a connection but it has put us off eating there again. (It was bad timing as well, as the pump on our Thetford malfunctioned at the same time!)

We stayed here for several nights over the Christmas and New Year period. Despite the terrible weather all staff worked very hard to keep all the facilities spotless during what was also a a very busy period with large numbers on site. The welcome and ongoing help from all staff here is second to none. This is why our club is known as the friendly club because of the good cheer and passion of the managers and wardens.
We would recommend this site to anyone without reservation and we will be back.

Have just spent a very relaxed 4 nights at this lovely site. Upon arrival we were given a choice of pitches, all very large, we chose one backing onto the canal and facing the playarea. We were asked if we needed help getting on to pitch and when we said we were fine we were left to it, unlike other comments regarding wardens insisting in giving instructions.
The toilet block was always immaculate and the showers were some of the best we have come across, lovely and warm and very powerful.
Can't understand the comments on here regarding too many rules as we didn't see any rules that were out of the ordinary.
Lovely walk up the canal to Devizes and even in October plenty of boats going through the locks. We nearly didn't book this site because of the canal, thinking we would have to keep a tight rein on the children to make sure they didn't go near it unaccompanied, but you cannot actually get to the canal side from the site, you have to go out of the entrance and a few yards up the road, so please don't be put off (like I nearly was) if you have young children.
Finally if there is a prize for the most friendliest and helpful wardens then the wardens on this site should get it - they were fantastic and nothing was ever too much trouble - well done.
We can't wait to go again.

We(myself and 2 friends) were cycle touring along the NCN route 4 from Bristol to Reading and found this great site.
We had a look in the neighbouring site at the 3 magpies and were instantly put off by the state of the toilets.
This site was so much better and everyone was extremely friendly.
We buzzed the bell as it was out of office hours and a nice couple came out of the nearby caravan and showed us to the least boggy plot(we'd had days of rain and every site we stayed at was boggy so it probably would have been fine with 'normal' weather).
The toilet block was immaculate and code entry.
A very tiny shop on site for the most limited of supplies.
We went across to the pub next door (3 magpies) and had a nice meal. The pub was a little pricey but the staff were friendly and we enjoyed the evening there.
I would definitely return to this campsite again and totally recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay, everyone was very helpful and enthusiastic. Nothing was to much trouble. The site is immaculate and level with good security although the showers are getting a bit tatty they were always clean. The sky satellite signal can be tricky to pick up on some pitches because of trees so mention that when booking if tv is important but that goes for most sites.
There are plenty of places to eat near by (using the car) and the canal with its many boats is just behind the site and we had a lovely evening walk. The playground has a swing and a slide but our 14 month old girl preferred to play with the stones on the pitch. The pitches are very large and easy to manoeuvre the van on and off. Cant ask for more really.

We had decided that we wanted to visit Avebury and Stonehenge this year so Devizes seemed like a good place to camp. We like staying on C&CC sites as you know what you are getting and we were not disappointed.
We were greeted by very friendly wardens who found us a nice spot to pitch with hedges on two sides. The pitch was very flat and we had plenty of space.
Toilets as would be expected on a club site were kept clean and were easily sufficient for the site. I never had to wait for a toilet or wash hand basin and only had to wait a minute or two for a shower.
Washing up sinks we did have to wait a few minutes for a couple of times but there was always HOT water and washing up was almost a pleasure.
Our 8 year old son loved the site, there is a small play area surrounded by grass, lots of tarmac roads which always had kids either on scooters or bikes on. At the back of the site is a large field split into a dog field and a children's field. At the back of this is a wooded area with a maze of paths. Whilst this was great for our son it did make finding him hard at times.
We liked the fact that at 9pm the wardens came round and sent any children they found to bed, children are much more likely to obey the official wardens than their parents
We had a wonderful 8 nights and would go back to this campsite in an instant

This was our third time at Devizes and it was every bit as good as the last. If anyone is thinking of setting up a site then they take a look at this one.
Spotless toilets and showers, immaculately kept grounds and above all very friendly staff.
It sits along side the Kennet and Avon canal with a lovely pub (The Barge) about a mile down the canal but if you don't fancy the walk the Three Magpies is right on the doorstep it serves some of the best beer I have ever tasted and its brewed just down the road in Devizes.
If I had to fault anything its that the wardens insist on instructing you how to reverse your caravan onto the pitch, I'm sure that in most cases this can be very helpful but I'm better on my own. Probably just me!
Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice site, but you do pay for it. The facilities are spotless, and very good. The whole site is kept in wonderful condition.
Not my favourite site though, mainly because there are so many rules! None of the rules are unreasonable. Just notices and reminders everywhere. Doesn't really make it all that relaxing.
The site is situated in a lovely position, and my only real complaint is that you do not feel that you are getting value for money. It cost us over £30 a night for a folding camper, with no awning, for 2 adults and 2 small children. We have stayed at places with swimming pools and far more facilities that do not cost that much.
The site itself is lovely, but we will not be going back.
We agree with the earlier comment about the wardens helping you park. Well meant, but not necessary.
