we visited the site for 3 nights and found that the site was friendly. The site is on a very busy road. The toilets on the site were not great the gents didn't have any toilet paper in them for 2 of the days we were there and the ladies were untidy, it would have been nice for them to be cleaned but I don't think they were attended to all weekend. (thankfully the site was not full).
We did pick our own spot and there is plenty of room on the site for both caravans and tents. The nearest pub is a mile away and you cant walk to it as the road is too busy and the are no pavements, the Black Horse pub is about a mile and a half away and the food is lovely but if you staying on this site I would recommend you bbq.

Site was very clean and catered for all types of travellers. Toilet block/s were clean also. The pitches are made up of gravel or grass. The drawback of the site is that it was right on the main road, with no path, having dogs this was a big draw back, although the site is very dog freindly. If your looking for peace and quiet then due to the traffic both air and car type, this probably wouldnt be suitable although it is ideally situated for the local attractions. The toilet block was also a let down due to there only being 1. (If the site is busy, expect a wait).
Overall a very well kept caravan/camp offering electricity and cleansiness.

Nice clean, friendly staffed site, with a couple of drawbacks. First its very close to the main road with no gates to slow down the traffic going on or off site, saw a couple of close misses with children playing near the gate. Secondly the toilet facilites are limited to say the list with 1 WC and 1 urinal in the gents and 2 wc's in the ladies, each having 1 shower..... However they were kept clean and seemed to have plenty of hot water.....
Would go again, but would request a pitch further away from the road....

May 2005 Nice clean site but the lack of facilities is an inconvinience especially when the site is packed to the gills. Only two toilets, two sinks and one shower in the Ladies. Gents had one toilet, one urinal, two sinks and one shower. Dish washing was one large pot sink in a cubicle only a foot wider than the sink it self and had no draining facilities.
No shop on site, nearest shop is in Hulland Ward 2 miles away. Bear in mind you cannot just nip to the shop when you are in a campervan with your awning attached. Also limited opening times.
Would go again at quiet times but not when busy due to lack of amenities.
Close to Carsington Water, High Peak and Tissington Trails.

April 2005 Site was basic but good, one drawback is the toilet block, they could do with at least another block. Easy to find a beautiful part of the country, great pub for a meal was the Black Horse aprox 2 miles right out of site. Would give this site another vist.

March 2005 Site smaller than I expected and nothing much for the kids to do. Facilities were very clean but only us & one other unit at the time. Lots of good hard standings as well as grass pitches, well spaced. Main road a bit close and noisy. Some pitches quite exposed if windy. Bus service into Ashbourne.

July 2004 Small friendly site. Our break got off to a bad start from the moment I was stung by a wasp! Being in the pest control industry, I'm not sure whether it was more painful than embarrassing!!! I treated the nest and was delighted to hear a return of some of our fee! The only slight problem we had with the site is the single toilet and single shower - it simply did not seem enough for the amount of tents there, which was approximately 25! Would go again anyway.

June 2004 Very nice quiet site with a small toilet block which I must say are kept very clean. Me, my wife and two children and my brother and his family enjoyed a nice quiet break, (not for people who like a busy fun packed break with pub and disco). Nice site and WE WILL GO again.
