Beautiful site, easy to get to. Well run by very friendly wardens. Facilities for showering etc were immaculate, whatever the time of day. The pitches on the lower level were a little small, and with the cars being parked infront of the vans not beside them, made the site look a like a row of terraces with no off road parking. This also made leaving the site with the caravan a little tricky, maybe making wider, but fewer, pitches, would have been the answer. On the up side, the scenery is fantastic, the walking is amazing, and Ashbourne has everything you could possibly need. An ideal site for Alton Towers, close, but not too close, which is good, as the site has no play equipment.

We had a lovely weekend at this site. A warm and friendly welcome from the wardens, and the best pitch on the site, which had sun all day! The shop stocked a variety of local food, bacon, sausages, eggs, cake, and ice-creams.
The pitches are mostly hard standing, there were 2 fields which had been shut off due to the weather.
The toilet block was brand new which the wardens kept immaculately clean, and the only criticism we would have, would be that there were not any privacy cubicles, only showers and toilets, which may have cut down on the queues for the showers in the ladies.
We caught the bus into Ashbourne, the stop was only 100m from the site. Ashbourne has loads of shops, pubs and cafes to suit all tastes.

We stayed for a weekend on this site and couldn’t wish for a warmer welcome. Having read the previous reviews I wasn’t sure what to expect.
The facilities are excellent and kept to a high standard.
The site is covered with lush grass, not a bit of mud anywhere and if I had wanted to fill my water container at the unlit water tap at midnight I think I would have coped with a torch.
We pitched our trailer tent on a hardstanding pitch using rock pegs, no problem.
Ideally situated as a touring base for Derbyshire & the Peak district.
The franchisees have obviously put a lot of work into the infrastructure of the site and have managed to create a relaxed atmosphere as well.
Certainly one of the best Camping club sites I’ve visited for a long time
I recommend you visit the site now, because if you wait a couple of years as previously said, you aren’t going to find any available pitches at this jewel of a site.

The site is new to the club and this could be seen by the newness of the toilet block and facilities, as expected of CCClub. Sadly the pitches and grassed areas were also very new and showed this, with the grassed areas looking deserted of grass and somewhat rocky all over - pleased we were on wheels as I wouldn't have wanted to have lived on the grass.
Some great walks and short-drives to local towns, Carsington Waters (water activities, visitor centre etc.) & Heights of Abraham, so great days out for people of all ages families. Too far to walk nearest local pub, and nearest decent sized store in Ashbourne - pretty village but somewhat dull.
Once the grounds have settled in and the internet is connected could have some potential, particularly due to its locality.

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very happy with the site. It has a new toilet and shower block, although it only had three ladies showers I did not have to queue to use them. They were always spotlessly clean and well looked after. Lower camping field is nicer than the top as it has lovely views of the area. Not far from Dovedale and Carsington Water, great base for walkers etc. Only downside- would have been nice to be able to walk to a pub for a meal or drink and the sign to the site needs to be a little bit bigger ( nearly drove past it!).
Would stay here again- overall nice quiet site.

Just got back from a lovely stay at this site. Toilets and showers excellent didn't queue once in the week we was here. Pitches well spaced. Large grass area allocated for ball games. Dog walk on site. Planes! What planes, can't say we noticed, found it a lovely peaceful site. Owners friendly and helpful. Small shop on site Belper not far (in car) with Morrisons supermarket. Very well located for peak tourist attractions & walking. Would definitely go back, well done Gabriel & Denise

Stayed here whilst visiting a festival over the road. When I booked the site I was told that there was only hard standing pitches left, so had to bite the bullet and hope we could pitch on this as we usually go on grass. The site does advertise grass pitches, but I could not see any whilst I was there. I would have preferred a grass pitch. The site was clean, tidy and the hot water plentiful. Washing up are is partly exposed so might be a problem in the rain. Site Manager and Mrs Manager were very friendly and even ventured over to the festival. Check the pitch type prior to booking as pegging out on hardstanding is not easy, although a large tent managed to fully peg out whilst I was there.

I normally avoid Camping and Caravanning Club Sites whenever possible (the lovely Minnows at Tiverton being a notable exception) and would not normally stay here, but it made sense as it was over the road from the festival we were going to the following morning; so I took a deep breath, rang up and booked a pitch and parted with £25 (as a non-member)
The site is on the edge of the peak district and about three miles from Ashbourne on the Belper road. The welcome we received on arrival was very friendly and we were escorted to a pitch with a nice view of the fields and cows from our side window.
As for the site, the entrance is very nice with a nice wooden cabin style reception area. Inside it is going through something of a transformation; the grassy areas have been re-seeded and need time to develop - I think for this reason the owner was quite pleased about the rain which persisted throughout our stay in the area!
The toilet and shower block was brand new and in pristine condition - a pleasure to use, as was the chemical toilet disposal area, one of the best I've ever seen, plus a nice big service area outside the block for vans and such.
I would say that in a year or two this site will be looking very nice.

We enjoyed our visit to this latest addition to the c+cc site network, Gabriel and Denise were very welcoming and helpful despite having to cope with a site that was obviously opened a few weeks to early for business due to the extensive upgrade undertaken during the close season. We had a lot of rain during our stay and being in a motorhome we had to clamber up a muddy bank to unhook our electricity on a daily basis so wellies are essential until the grass grows. The toilets were always clean but the showers were of the dreaded push button type. Anyone with children would have to keep an eye on them around the toilet block as there was a manhole cover left off behind the chemical disposal point all through our stay. All in all a good site in a convenient location and we shall probably return when the work is completed and the grass has grown.

On our first trip out with our Folding Camper we enjoyed our stay at this site. The new toilet block was always immaculate, never queued for showers. Although there is still a lot of new grass to grow yet, the football field was usable for our 3 boys. Lovely views & no shortage of attractions nearby.
