Fantastic Find, popped in on the off-chance that they had a vacancy. Brilliant service from the couple who run it, this is obviously something they enjoy, felt like we had been regulars at the site by the end of the weekend.
Toilet & shower Facilities were spotless. TV room, with a pool table available. Laundry area better than most 'big' sites I've been to. Locked gate for security leading to a park with a short walk to the town centre.
Ps been back since. Will be back again next year.

Could not fault this site, the best one we visited. Friendly staff and very clean also, the facilities were superb. This site puts all the bigger ones we visited to shame and that included the sites in the lake district and around Scotland. The town is in walking distance, a nice park through the gate so there's things to do. There is also the Championship Golf Course that you can go around & the beach. You can see St Andrews on a clear day. Sorry to anyone who may have been trying to keep this site a secret!

What a gem of a site. For first time caravanners this was a lovely find and the wardens were so friendly. With lots of signs it was easy to find and the pitches were well spaced out with an electric hookup and water tap well placed.
Immaculately clean loos & showers with nice soaps & fresh flowers! Good laundry facilities and games room. Close to the town and the beach is an easy walk.
Small selection of local shops and large supermarket in town which is only a short drive. Great park nearby for the family.
We will be regulars I am sure.

Just back from Woodlands caravan park which we have visited several times previously. Again very impressed with the facilities, wardens and the excellent condition and upkeep of this site, which is immaculate. At £16 per night, £19 (Peak) with no hidden charges for awnings or dogs etc, which is a common occurrence nowadays, it is fantastic value for money. Carnoustie is a very basic town, but nice playpark for the kids and good walks for the dog, as well as the world famous championship golf course. Will definitely be back again soon.

Just spent a weekend at Woodlands and would definitely go back. Arrived in the evening and was greeted by a friendly warden who gave us the keys which gave you access to everywhere and also gave us a tour of where everything was. He also told us some of the places to eat in Carnoustie.
Got our tents pitched and our children were able to go and play in the large park which is right next door to the site, a locked gate gives access to the park which is good and secure later at night.
It is only a short walk through the park to Carnoustie, a Spar and Co-op both in the town for anything that you need. Good walk down to the beach and also a good large play park and golf for children to use.
Nineteenth hole hotel in Carnoustie good for food and very friendly by allowing dogs and children into the lounge for drinks and meals.
The site itself is well kept with neat grass and flower beds. There is a large shower block, not the most modern but really clean and warm. It has music playing all day and night. Closes from 11 to 12 to be fully cleaned each day. Also a room which has a fridge, toaster and microwave for anyone to use. Room with tv, pool table and football table which is good if it is wet.
Quiet site with very helpful staff.
It turned out wet when we were there but the ground dried out really quickly and we were not left with large puddles outside the tent.
As another reviewer has said it is strange being in the middle of a housing estate but would definitely go back and recommend to others.

We really enjoyed our weekend spent at Woodlands. As the other reviews have said this is an excellent site, very clean facilities, handy for walking into Carnoustie, plenty of nice areas to visit and very friendly wardens. Our kids (aged 2 and 5) enjoyed the beaches (Lunan Bay def worth a visit) and the playpark beside the leisure centre which also has as outdoor paddling pool. We also enjoyed good fish n chips in the local chippy. We will def be going back for another visit sometime soon.

Stayed here one night after the Senior Open Golf at Carnoustie (the 3 golf courses at Carnoustie are excellent). Can't fault the site or how it's run. Quiet. Very welcoming and helpful warden, dry humour. Immaculately tended grounds with bedding plant displays (it's a Council site). Spacious and spotlessly clean toilets & showers with lots of beautiful fresh flowers! The washrooms are far bigger than you'd expect, but it looks like the new primary school next door was built on part of the campsite. The big park with its play area and dog walking is through a gate that you get the key to. I'd have no hesitation recommending this site.

My husband and I have just returned from our second trip to Woodlands this season. Lovely once again!
Tbe wardens are very friendly and come across as enjoying what they do. If there's anything you need, they are right there with it.
Both are very hands on, giving a personal tour of the facilities and I've seen Bill on countless occasions out with his tools, giving people a hand with little setting up issues.
The toilets and wash up areas are spotless. I think the personal touches like lillies throughout the bathrooms, soaps at every wash station, local radio piping into the public areas make people feel at home and encourage them to leave the place as they have found it.
The area is also very nice. Right beside the site is a play park. We don't have any kids, but handy if you do. The town is just a 5 to 10 minute walk and there you will find ample supplies for your camping trip. At the shore front there is a beach, kids activity area and mini golf.
There's a Spar when you first hit the town and an excellent Co-op a bit further along. Check out the butcher - Irn Bru sausages and spicy burgers to die for! The flower shop also sells lush strawberries.
We really can't fault the place and will be returning next year.

We arrived at Woodlands around 5pm in the evening. The Warden was very friendly with a sense of humour which is always a great way to be greeted.
We were shown around the facilities, provided with our key and then we went off to select our pitch. There was plenty of space to pitch the tent and the other guests were pleasant & friendly.
The toilets/showers were immaculate - each sink in the ladies had its own soap and fresh lillies on each main section. There is also music from the local radio which was a nice touch. In the dishwashing area there is a fridge / freezer, microwaves and a toaster for general use.
There is a games/tv room on site with a pool table for those rainy days. Its a bit dated but as there are a lot of caravans & motorhomes, generally only used by the tented community. Its fully functional though.
The site is a 10 minute walk from Carnoustie and brings you out at the Spar should you need any supplies. The Co-Op is only a few minutes further. If you want reasonably priced decent food, then I'd recommend The 19th Hole (next left after the Spar). Would definitely stay here again as it was very clean, friendly and at £14 per night reasonably priced.
There was no noise from the park as per the other reviews and the only negative thing I would say about our stay is that we should not have pitched the tent under the oak tree. A few pigeons around

Pretty much as has previously been said.
Good clean site - completely flat.
Toilets are a bit old but were warm, clean and tidy with lots of hot water. Small TV room with pool table kept the kids occupied for a while.
Gate to park adjacent to site is locked later at night but you are given a key to open it should you need to access it (walk the dog).
Personally I didn't think much of the town of Carnoustie itself. Visually it was looking a bit run down though there is a new play area down on the seafront which appeared suitable for younger children.
We used the site as a base to tour the East coast and did not use the towns facilities much other than to visit the coop for a bit of shopping.
Very good value at £17 / night in the high season. Would use again.
