Really Lovely Site. Toilet Block/Showers really clean and tidy. The Warden has done a fantastic job in maintaining the high standards. Site is near a park and five min walk to the shops and 10 min walk to the beach. Really great site will go back again

I can certainly recommend this site. I have been camping for 40 odd years, this is one of the best sites I have stayed at. Well kept and very clean . The warden is really helpful and friendly nothing was to much bother for him. Will certainly be back here.

Lovely campsite, enclosed by a large wall. Flat site with grass pitches for caravans, motorhomes and tents. We paid £14.00 a night off season for a serviced pitch with electric and water, which I thought was good value.
Very clean toilets and showers and plenty of them. Showers adjustable, with a seat attached to wall in showers. Loo paper and paper towels always filled up. Radio piped into shower/toilet block. Key for loo/shower door, no deposit needed.
Pool/games room on site. No shop but Carnoustie village is about a mile away. Very friendly wardens, we were having trouble with my new aerial and the guy who runs the site came over and offered advise. There is a park at the back of the site. Some noise from birds in trees but it didn,t bother me. There is a recycling place just next to the site.
Carnoustie has shops and pubs and cafes. Lovely sandy beach. Watched a helicopter come down next to the golf club hotel. It sat for about 6 hours waiting for its passangers, nice to be able to afford to keep a private helicopter waiting! Nearest supermarket that I could find was Arbroath 12 miles away. I will return to this site.

This site is one of the best kept secrets in the area. A flat grassy area with plenty of room for tents and vans. Surrounded by a high wall which keeps out undesireables and the wind (used to be a walled garden I guess). The icing on the cake is the attention to detail provided by the site warden, a real gem.
Stepping into the toilets and you are in an example of how things should be done, other sites take note. More showers and loos than you can shake a stick at, Mira flow and temperature controls, piped radio music, everything spotlessly clean.
A recent change in the bus routes has a bus to Dundee from outside the site every half hour (all day travel £3.50 an adult), trains from Carnoustie seem less frequent outside of peak commuter times, every two hours at times.
Quite a few (6?) Cycle routes on fairly flat ground, just the hill to cycle up from the centre of town. Maps available from site office. Games room available for kids on rainy days.

Have just returned from four enjoyable nights here. A friendly welcome by the wardens who were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. Shown all the facilities on arrival (plenty of showers and toilets) which were kept immaculate.(nice flowers in the ladies!) The grounds were also well maintained. The site is within easy walking distance of the pleasant small town of Carnoustie which has an adequate selection of shops, cafes and hotels. Excellent bus service into nearby Dundee and Arbroath.(there is also a good train service) Would recommend this excellent site.we will be back!

We visited this site after reading the reviews and I agree with most of the previous comments but they are a little misleading. First of all the site is VERY quiet - there were maybe 50(ish) caravans and tents etc (site was full to capacity) and at 11.30pm you could hear a pin drop. We were only one of two caravans to have a light on. I realise everyone has different ideas of a caravan holiday but mine is music and drinks and chat till the wee small hours - not something I feel would be welcomed on this site. We have a 5 yr old and a 3 yr old and they were the only two kids on site. I imagined the park to be a part of the site but it isn't. The fence was put up to stop people cutting through the caravan site and so you have to use the padlocked gate to get through to the public park. The park is only seen by the tent area and so there was no way I'd let the kids go there by themselves. Having said that the kids managed to amuse themselves in the site, though I could see some scornfull looks. The site appears to be populated by elderly people. We did have a reasonable time but I felt we had to put a lid on things. The wardens are fantastic and you can adjust the temperature of the showers and they don't switch off by themselves, the place is immaculately clean, fresh flowers etc etc but it just wasn't for us.

We fell lucky with this site. Booked one night but stayed for three in the end. There are not many sites in the area that take tents, this is an absolute gem. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Given a tour of all the facilities, loads of showers & toilets, laundry room, all immaculately clean. Town centre is a few minutes walk away across the park and down the footpaths. What made the site even better was the constant attention to detail by the warden and his wife. When he found out we were touring round Scotland he gave us a lovely touring map which was very useful. Would certainly recomend this site to one and all if you are in the area.

What can I say! This was our first outing in our tent and we couldn't have picked a better site. The couple running the place were friendly and helpful, the toilet block immaculate (even music 24hours), and there was a brand new play park right next door. We didn't see much of Carnoustie because we went to the beach and spent hours on the sand and in the big play park there. Lots of development because of the Open golf so the parks etc were looking great! The sun even came out. Only downside was the noisy neighbours - people and crows - but that didn't bother us too much. Would still thoroughly recommend this site.

My husband and I with our two grandchildren visited this site for one week the welcome was friendly the toilets were spotless, plenty hot water for showers and plenty of the hairdryers in good working order and free. A one way traffic system in operation on this site and a 10 miles per hour speed limit, so the kids were very safe going around on their bikes. We found it very child friendly, it's a walled ground with a large park right next to the site, via entry through a padlocked gate which the toilet key opens indoors. There is a television room which also has a table tennis and drinks machine. The washing and drying area is very clean and with plenty hot water, two big sinks and this is also inside which again the toilet key opens all doors. There are two washing machines and two tumble dryers. The whole area is very very clean, a 10 minute walk down the hill and you are on the main street, which has all the usual variety of shops and takeaways. The pubs are friendly and offer a great lunch with prices around a fiver a head, we had a fantastic time. The bus service to Dundee and Arbroath were very good. We highly recommend this site and we are already planning a return visit. You wont be dissapointed, one of the best sites we have visited.

Lovely site. Lots of toilets, showers & sinks, including disabled bathroom. All TV and pool table indoors. The wardens are the most pleasant and helpful I've met. The site is in a walled garden with a fence down one side separating you from a public park (padlocked gate opened by toilet key.) The park has a nice playground and plenty of room for football. We paid £10.50 a night for a big tent with 2 adults and 2 kids. Carnoustie is a nice wee East coast town (golfing and beach) with small supermarkets & food takeaways. The only drawback is the sound of gunfire form the army camp 2 miles away.
