Not our usual type of campsite as it is basically in the town with a school right next door, a playing field at the back and houses at the other side. Pitches were flat, we had ehu, locked gate gets you straight into the park/playing field and into town. Showers were normal no push button but you needed to remember to take your key to get into them! The general feel was that it was a tidy and friendly site.

Just as other reviewers have stated, this is a nice, well-kept site. Owner obviously takes pride in his business. Good dog walks in adjacent park and on Carnoustie beachfront.
Easy to find Newton Road from A92/A930 and just follow your nose to the end of the road. Only bad taste from our visit was that Cash was demanded on arrival (nothing about not accepting credit cards on their website) and no receipt was given.

Back for another visit and worth another review as this is undoubtedly one of Scotland's finest.
Despite being virtually full, the site is immaculate in every respect. We got the bus at the gate (across the road) to lovely Broughty Ferry via Moniefieth, Barry etc it continues to Dundee.
Bill as before is such a nice host and rightfully proud of his site. We are off to France soon but intend to return to sunny Carnoustie before the season ends.
Don't miss this excellent site on your travels in this area of Scotland.

Just had a weeks stay. Bill was great, always a smile on his face and very helpful. He's always about tending the gardens and pottering around the site which is absolutely immaculate and a credit to him. The toilets are spotless. Great facilities. 5 mins walk to the bus stop and approx 10 mins to the railway station. Regular services. Great cycle path to Broughty Ferry and Dundee. Would highly recommend

Lovely site, in Carnoustie village so easy access to chip shops restaurants etc. Good facilities and friendly helpful staff. On arrival you are provided with a key that not only opens the toilet doors but also opens a gate in the wall between the site and Carnoustie House Park, the park is large and simply laid out with playing fields, children's play areas and dog walking paths (well used by the locals).
Loved the quirky woodcarvings on the site.

One of the few sites where the sat nav takes you straight there! It's a beautiful sheltered site, lovely gardens with some interesting wooden statues. The pitches are very large with electric, water |& grey water drain. The owner is very friendly and helpful and obviously takes great pride in maintaining the high standards. The toilet and shower blocks are large and pristine, there were even 3 large vases of lilies in the ladies. Town is just a 10 minute walk through the park, (you get a key to the gate, great for morning & evening dog walks), 10 minutes further on is the lovely sandy beach. Phone and TV reception on site are both very good.

My family & I stayed on this campsite for the first time over the May day weekend. I have to agree with the other reviewers that this is a very well cared for site.
From when you arrive the flower beds make the site bright and welcoming. Bill is very friendly & helpful; you just know you are going to enjoy your stay.
There is an abundance of showers and toilets which were always spotlessly clean and even had music playing.
For us the dishwashing room was a highlight as it contained a kettle (much quicker than the gas stove when the wife needs her morning cuppa) and even a microwave (for heating the kids hot water bottles)
For me the only (very slight) negative was that you need a key for the toilets, mainly because of instances of one of the kids announcing they were desperate for the loo and you franticly trying to remember who last had the key!
This may have been our first visit, but certainly will not be our last.

This is one of those sites that you know as soon as you arrive that it is going to be good. All the grass, trees and flower beds are all perfect. There is no rubbish or anything out of place. The toilets are immaculate, all day.
Totally amazing when you realize that it is all the work of one very determined man who is obviously a perfectionist in his work. The two days we were there, Bill Robertson the proprietor seemed to be always in a flower bed, cleaning or doing a walk round the site.
This guy could do classes in how to run a caravan park.
He puts some of the whole teams of employees in some other sites I could mention (see my other reviews), that could not even make sure that their one toilet was supplied with paper to shame.
This site totally deserves it's 4 star Scottish Tourist board rating and all the other glowing reviews on UKCampsite. I do not give 10's for anything often!

A can only agree with the previous reviews regarding the pleasant nature of this site, clean toilets, warden, etc.
Just to add, on a super-pitch we paid £20 per night (low season)and it includes wifi broadband (6+Mbps - pretty good)
Lots of sites charge for that. The mast for signal is at reception and at a distance you may need to hold the phone to a window to receive the signal, but bigger devices should get it OK.
Convenient for walks around Carnoustie and it's golf course. Clean and tidy town on the sea coast/Tay Estuary. Didn't try the fare at the Restaurants / Hotels or Golf Clubs but plenty to choose from.
Happy to return and recommend.

Just returned from a week at this site with Hubby and 5 year old daughter.
Absolutely beautiful site. Pristine, and the flower beds are the best I've seen. The site owner Bill, is a very kind, hard working, lovely man who can't do enough for you.
We had a pitch with ehu which also has your own tap which is a nice extra.
The facilities are fantastic. Plenty of toilets, sinks and showers. Spotlessly clean and the radio playing which is always a nice touch.
Nice location for the town centre, beach and golf courses. Also a great location for touring this beautiful part of Scotland.
All in all, the campsite has a lovely, friendly, peaceful feel to it. Will definitely return.
