A nice relaxed site where you have space. 3 things to bear in mind. 1. The site is sloping so if you are in a caravan or motor home you will definitely need blocks to level up. 2. There are hook-ups but you will probably need a double length lead to reach one (we were lucky and able to pitch on the beer garden). 3. There is only one ladies loo and shower (gents the same I think) so at busy times there would be a wait as in order to be private you have to lock the entrance door so loo/shower not available to anyone else! There are 2 ladies loos inside the pub which are available when the pub is open.
However the owners were very obliging and helpful and the food in the pub is excellent. We would stay again if we are in the area.

Great little campsite just a short walk down to Winster where you can catch a bus to Matlock or Bakewell(if you don't want to drive),The people on the site are nice and friendly,We had two units,a trailer tent and a caravan,
Within two tic's we were given a pitch next to the beer garden with EHU,half an hour later we were having a beer with the friendly locals,
We will be going back to this camp site, even though a couple of us bumped into a bench in the beer garden at night, its pitch black,** not too drunk,
Small toilet/shower area + you might get a little slope on your pitch,We enjoyed our stay.

A great and inexpensive little campsite with great views over the Derbyshire countryside. There are basic washroom facilities on site with hot water and an electric shower. However, the facilities only accommodate one at a time, so when busy you may have to wait a little while to get your turn. I believe there is a limited supply of electric hookups for vans if required.
The pub, The Miners Standard to which the campsite is attached, does a good range of home cooked food, and a good selection of beer, so if you don't fancy cooking around the camp fire after a hard days walking or cycling it's a great option. There is also a shop in the village itself if required.
The nice thing about this site is the relaxed atmosphere. There doesn't seem to be any unnecessary rules an regulations and fires are permitted as long as they are in a container or pit and and properly controlled. Dogs are also welcome. The camping field is on gently sloping ground so there shouldn't be any problems when faced with wet weather.
All in all a great little site that I will definitely use again!
