We really enjoyed our stay here, pitched our tent in the top corner and the views across the valley were breath taking.
The toilets and showers were always clean and there was piping hot water in the washing up facilities.
But by far the best bit was having a lovely old pub on site that serves the most amazing food and the staff were so engaging and friendly. Best meal out we have had in a long time and Oh! The onion rings are to die for ( the size of doughnuts) I kid you not!
Can't wait to go back again, there were so many beautiful walks on the doorstep and other attractions, six days was not enough time to explore it all.

Really nice site above the village over looking the valley with walks heading off in various directions almost from the gate.
The Miners Standard pub is a laid back, dog friendly pub serving really good food.
If you’re staying in a caravan or motorhome, don’t forget to bring some wedges/levelling kit as some of the site is on a good slope.

The campsite was nice and on a secluded road and it was quiet in the evenings. The ground however wasn't very level and was on a slant.
The toilets weren't very clean (I know it is a campsite but they could have been better maintained) - the showers however were clean and fresh.
The pub website didn't state what time they served meals until on a Sunday (3pm) so it was a good job we had taken some "just in case" food and also bacon and eggs for breakfast the following morning so we had something to eat.
The staff in the bar didn't smile a lot either and didn't look very interested in being there.
The experience of camping overall was good though and it hasn't put me off.

First class welcome and all round friendly staff.
Site was well kept. Toilets and showers were basic and kept really clean.
Showers lacked somewhere to put toiletries and a hairdryer electric point. Washing station is excellent with plenty of hot water.
The pub is excellent with a great choice of ales. The food was well presented very tasty.
All in all a great experience. Thanks.

Great site, can park up together we're you like, not much in way of electric points but not a problem for short stay.
The pub is lovely to spend some time in, food very very good & staff friendly and welcoming.
The turning in to car park is tight from north, take your time on approach.
Had a brilliant weekend and will return again.

Beautifully situated camping field with wonderful views when the campsite is not full. Slightly sloping ground so airbeds kept slipping down the tent.
Good showers and toilets that were kept very clean. Great to have the pub for evening meals, can recommend the fish and chips with homemade tartare sauce.
We thoroughly enjoyed being able to go for long walks right from the campsite and not use the car for three days.
Only downside to our stay was the farmer deciding to mow the hayfield with noisy tractor behind our tent at 10. 30 at night!

Absolutely brilliant site!
Everything was clearly marked and was set up very well!
The toilets and showers were very clean and easy to access as was the site itself.
Would definitely recommend xoxo

We liked the actual campsite and the pub was convenient, didn't have to drive anywhere for a drink, was great so we could relax,
The actual facilities were very poor not enough toilets or showers this wasn't a problem when the site was quiet but when busy not so good,
The staff were very friendly
But would stay again if the facilities improve.

Great site, good showers and toilets, all very clean, just £1 for the shower and plenty of hot water.
Food in the pub is excellent, never seen onion rings so big!
Good access to Bakewell, Matlock and many more places to visit.
Will definitely go back
