What a lovely unspoilt site. A working farm so don't expect the height of luxury! Spotless toilet facilities, a new portacabin just opened with a further 6 toilets. The site owners are fantastic, helpful and friendly people. Nothing is too much trouble.
The views from the site are mind blowing. To look out of your caravan window and see views of the sea, unmarred by anything, wonderful.
There are no set pitches, Derek tells you to park where ever you please but be mindful that the electric hook ups will only stretch so far!
Whitby of course is wonderful as always, it takes about 30 minutes to walk down. There is a lovely walk along the prom and you can cut down onto the beach right the way into the centre if you so wish.
We caught a taxi back from the town some nights and were charged anything between £4.80 before midnight to £6.40 after midnight so not too bad.
There is a nice walk (uphill & down dale) to Sandsend, nice pubs and a few nice shops, lovely beaches. Takes approx 25 minutes.
We would most definitely use this site again.

Just back from a lovely 5 days at this site. There are no restrictions on arrival time so we arrived mid morning on the monday, phoned Derek as per our booking email instructions and he quickly came over to show us the available pitches.
He recommended the field that has the shower block/toilets on it and we decided it would be better as there was more shelter. Even though the booking email had said full payment on arrival, because the weather reports had been quite bad for the week Derek said to settle up as we left in case we needed to leave early because of bad weather.
They have just had another portable cabin delivered but it wasn't in use while we were there so I am not sure what is inside. The current one is as previously described split in 2 with 2 showers and a toilet in each side - plenty of room for a family to use, you just lock the outside door. Showers are free as is toilet roll and the farmers wife made frequent checks through out the day for cleanliness/toilet roll supplies.
They really are a lovely couple and we were made to feel very welcome and we even got to go and watch the cows being milked which our kids loved.
All in all a lovely site that we will definitely use again - excellent value at just £10 per night +£2 for EHU if required.
There isn't a playground but the field we were on only pitches round the edge so plenty of space for the children to play

We chose the site after consistently good reviews and wasn't disappointed. Great location within walking distance to the beach and the site itself was well positioned in relation to nearby supermarket (Lidl or Spar).
Two fields for tents, one with great views and shared with campervans/caravans, and the second just for tents, slightly more sloping but a bit more sheltered and closer to the showers.
Plenty of room for our oversize tent and lots of room for the kids (aged 2 & 3) to play and run around without fear of getting lost or being run over. Camp owners extremely welcoming and chatty.
Its on a farm so the cockerel and cows serenade your morning whether you're in the mood or not but it adds to the charm (eventually). If you want playgrounds, clubs and a pool, go elsewhere but for a warm welcome and clean facilities with great views you won't find better and at £12 per night with electric its a bargain.
Can't see a reason to choose anywhere else really!

What a wonderful site. Arrived and greeted by the owner. We were shown around the site and then asked where we wanted to pitch. There are two fields. The lower field is flatter. We picked that one as the second field is steep in parts. We had a wonderful view out to sea. We were able to pitch in the centre of the field and still use our hook up as the owner uses reels to extend the hook ups.
The showers and toilet are in a portable cabin. It has been divided in half with a toilet and two showers in each. You also have a large area with a bench around it and a lot of hooks. This is great after you have showered you have space to dry and dress. There is also a small shed with a toilet, hand basin, washing machine and dryer in.
The site is close to Sandsend beach. There is free parking on the side of the road but it starts to fill up about ten oclock. There is a toilet block there and a cafe that did a lovely fresh cooked breakfast at a good price.
We went for a meal at the White house hotel and restaurant (we could see it from the site). The staff were friendly and the meal was great and a good price.
You are very close to a lidl and a spar. You are close to Whitby.
We enjoyed seeing the cows being brought in to be milked. All in all can not wait to go back.

What more can we add to the excellent reviews already mentioned? Great site, great welcome, great views, great price. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. It does what it says on the tin.
Working dairy farm with fields put to one side for camping. The views are amazing. You can view the horizon over the sea from Whitby to Sandsend. You can watch the farmer go about his business with his herd of dairy cattle.
Plenty of wildlife to be seen, typical farm animals as well as wild deer and many types of bird life. Two minute drive to sandsend (free parking on the road adjacent to the beach, if you get their early enough) five minute drive into Whitby.
Excellent, excellent site. Have already booked for next year and have not even finished this years holiday yet!

Visited this site bank hol in august, nice place, owner very helpful, nicely located just past whitby. Basic no frills campsite, good enough for our three pitches.
Can get windy up there though as we found out, infact very windy,as you are close to the sea. In fact we had to leave a day earlier than planned, because all our tents were totally smashed up with the strength of the wind.
No hot water in mens toilet, one of the showers went cold and stayed cold, but don't let all this put you off, you get what you pay for.
A nice area in whitby and I would say worth a visit. We walked into whitby takes about 30 mins along the cliff top or you can walk on the prom, the farmer will give you details.Loads of nice places to visit in a lovely area.

Quiet and basic campsite at the back of a working farm.
Site has two fields one on a slight slope, this is where we camped and was not a problem.
This field has toilet block which housed 2 toilets and 4 showers and there were kept immaculate, there was also a toilet in a shed if these were busy.
Site is ideally located for whitby and Sandsend only about 10m bike ride to each.
Lovely sea views from site but this does mean that it is exposed and can get very windy at times.
On the whole an excellent base to visit the local area and we would definitely use again.
Nearest pub the White house has stunning views of the coastline and is just along the road.
Recommend this site unreservedly.

As others have mentioned there aren't any facilities to wash up but that is the only downside.
The owners couldn't do enough to help when we arrived giving us a choice of pitch. We chose one in the main tent field which is on a slight slope but not enough to be a problem.
The farm is high up with lovely views of the sea and golf course.
Loads to do - lovely beach and pub at Sandsend only a few mins in the car. It is worth knowing the car park just over the bridge only charges £3 per day to park whereas the public ones are £3 for 4 hours (walkable but a busy road with young children not ideal)
Same distance into Whitby, we had brill weather and spent a full day at the outdoor padding pool near the pavilion which was great. You can walk on the public footpath down to the beach which was done by our 3yr old in 15 mins.
All in all a fantastic stay - I would in a word describe it as rustic but for a peaceful (cheap!) stay watching the cows go down to be milked morning and night was the best.
I should also mention the shower block. It is basically a portable cabin split in 2. Both sides has a toilet and 2 electric showers. You can take the whole family in and lock the outer door obviously was busy at peak times but we never had to queue for long.

Absolutely Brilliant! If you are looking for a no-nonsense camping holiday with just the basics than this is where to go. The owners couldn't have been more helpful if they'd have tried, the views were stunning and Whitby is just a matter of minutes by cars.
We had a lovely relaxing week here and will definitely be returning and hooray for the owners for not charging extortionate fees for a 'camping' holiday

Excellent basic site. We were made very welcome. Owner was very helpful in finding us a sheltered pitch. Facilities were very clean, but basic at mere cost of £12 a night {with hook up} what can you expect
We will definitely be visiting this site again. Not far outside whitby and sandsend is a nice small village, golf course nearby as are pubs and shops.
We didn't have any children so I cannot comment on child facilities. It did get windy on our last night but nobody had a problem taking packing up there tents.
