What a great site, first one we have ever stayed at in our pod. Very impressed. Toilets very very clean (little bit used by the end of the day but to be expected when we were there as only one block was in use)they spend around an hr cleaning the ladies then the gents. The staff were all very helpful. Loved the fact that we could pull up into lanes at the reception. Not quite sussed the reversing bit with the caravan yet. Little chip van open on site, wish it was open a little bit later. Everyone very friendly. Good security keys to gates and toilets. Very good veg and washing up areas. Never seen such big awnings in my life.
Just around the corner from a beautiful lake and cafe with homemade cake mmm. Great for anyone into fishing, cycling watersports etc. Most people we met seem to return there again and again. Get there early if you need to pitch near the loo. Great park for the kids, we don't have any so quite glas we didn't pitch near it though.
We were visiting a sick in law in melton mowbray so found it useful to pop on and off the A1 and also visited Rutland lovely walk even though it was raining. Would defo go there again. One warning we thought we would try the local pub in the neighbouring village surrounded by lovely cottages etc built in old stone. It was awful chav city, chav wedding going on, pub inside really grubby, staff very unhelpful waited for 40 mins for our food because the wedding was on, but wasn't pre warned about the wait. They bought it covered in pepper which I had specified I did not want then left us staring at it for 5 mins whilst they went off to find some knives and forks.

Nice site, well maintained and clean but no real atmosphere to speak of.
Visited in half term with 2 adults and 4 kids.
There are barriers in and out which make you feel secure.
The toilets are key entry and are very clean and plentiful, never waited and we were there in half term.
There is a family room which is really big with a small toilet for the kids, bath with shower over and a large sink with changing area. Really nice to have this.
Park on site that was always crawling with kids but ours didn’t use it.
There’s a shop that sells the essentials and a few extra’s like toys and kites.
It’s right next to Ferry Meadows park which is worth a visit to feed the ducks and geese and they have a cafe and a couple of play parks. You can also go boating at certain times and there’s a little train.
There’s a pub about half a mile away where we had food on the last night, the kids gobbled up their fish and chips. Nice food.
There’s a fish and chip van on site which is open a couple of nights a week but we didn’t eat from this.
Lots to do in the area. We visited Belton House which is about 45 mins away but well worth a visit. They have a huge adventure playground which is fantastic. We were there nearly all day and could have still kept on playing.
Also recommend Burleigh House which is only 10 mins away. The house is amazing and they have a really fun garden of surprises which is all about water and the kids can interact with it all so take a change of clothes and their swim gear. The sculpture gardens are well worth looking around. The kids loved searching out the next sculpture and exploring the gardens.
The greyhound racing is a great night out too with lots of different options available.
There’s also Peterborough itself with its shops and beautiful cathedral.
We will visit this site again as it’s only 20 minutes from home and the kids love Ferry Meadows itself but wouldn’t go back if it was further away, just nothing special about it other than the really clean toilets.

This was our first time on this site and it certainly won't be our last.
The toilet block on the west side (hardstandings) is still closed but soon to be reopened. This is where we pitched and it was lovely, even though the site was full it was very peaceful. They were large level hardstanding pitches, surrounded by grass.
Across the road there are grass pitches grouped in pockets.
Ferry meadows is excellent for walking and cycling and there is plenty to do in the area.
I think most other things have been said in other reviews.
The only draw back about the site is it is so difficult to get on at weekends because of it's popularity.
I don't know why we have never been before.

I can't add much to what's already been said, if you choose hard standing some of the pitches are very close to the internal roads, if not go for grass in one of the many 'little fields'.
It's a large two part site, VERY clean and well organised. The on-site Fish & Chips were superb (only Friday & Saturday nights), toilets superb!
A great location to cycle in to P/boro', over 63miles of cycle routes, mostly tarmac. Had a conducted tour of the cathedral upper parts and bell tower - not normally my 'cup of tea' but VERY interesting and worth every penny!
Garden centre at the end of the road, plus all the lakes to cycle/walk round - we'll be back!

We spent a lovely 3 days at this site - I was already familiar with the area having moved from there last year.
The site staff were extremely friendly, professional and always on hand to assist where required. The pitches are of a good size - plenty of space for a large van, awning and your car by the side. The toilet block on the west side is currently undergoing refurbishment and so you have to trek over to the east side for toilets and showers but it is only a 5 minute walk at most.
There is lots to do in the surrounding area, the Nene Valley Steam Railway is 5 minutes down the road and is a pleasant trip through the countryside. There is a pub within walking distance - The Granary - which is a beefeater restaraunt. Golfers would love it as there are 2 golf courses and a pitch and putt. Very enjoyable for all ages. Would definitely use this site again.

When we arrived on site we were greeted by the very professional caravan club staff. We pitched up and went to get the toilet keys. Just to let you all know that one of the toilet blocks are being refurbished and so if you are on the hard standing side you need to walk across the road to the other block. I was told that this work was ongoing until July 2009.
Site was very clean and tidy up to usual caravan club standards.
Lots to do in the area Nene park, steam railway which you can get 50% discount if take site receipt, so we are going back on a Thomas weekend in Feb.
Good pubs within walking distance. A lovely site.

Excellent. No need to use car, cycle to peterborough town takes 15 mins. Nene park has plently going on and is next door. Site facilities and wardens to usual caravan club standards - superb. Would prefer to stay on hardstanding side as grass side gets a little noisy. Great pub food at Cukoo within easy cycling distance. Day trip to Cambridge worth while if you enjoy shopping. Will definitely go back.

After a second visit here, remain very satisfied with facilities and location.
Wardens very friendly and helpful dealing with queries cheerily and genuinely appearing to want to help, facilities clean and usual caravan club standard. Site full over weekend but less busy during week.
Fish and chip van still operating on Friday nights even at this time of year, not bad fish and chips and reasonably priced.
Close to Nene park and its attractions, even at this time of year things to do (walking, cycling, some brave souls sailing on lake even though it had snowed during night!).
East field shut at present during this part of season so just the west side with hardstandings.
Well worth a return visit for a long weekend.

The Campsite:
Great site and very good wardens running the site.
We arrived on sat July 26 pulled up to the site was greeted and pulled up to barrier wife checked in, we forgot membership card so do remember yours, it was not a problem.
Then when booked in we went to find a pitch but difficult to get 3 pitches together this was our family get together.
We went over the road to the grass pitches turned in just behind where chip van is near to shower block.
We was on pitch 130 this was ok but the shower / toilet door was bit noisy at night because it slams shut. The shower / toilet blocks was very clean and tidy they give you a key for the shower / toilet block. I presume they had been having problems with visitors to neene park using shower / toilet blocks.
We had cracking hot weather nearly all week showers couple times in the week.
After couple of days it was so hot on the 130 pitch we had to move.
We then moved over to pitch 117 after a couple of days cooler in the day nice in the evening.
Seems to get very full over the weekend, Sunday was starting to get quieter.
There was play area for th kids to use.
There is tv aerial socket on the hook up point.
I good investment for you to take is 25mrts of aerial cable with you if you want tv they do sell it at the reception £13.
We couldn't get very good picture off my aerial on the van tried sat dish couldn't get signal through the trees.
Very good free view picture if you had an aerial lead. The Park:
Short walk to the park need trolley if you go fishing.
There is parking in the park £3 weekends free in the week.
There is few kids park areas around the park.
Information centre you can also have bbq in the park I think you just have to ask.
We took our bikes with us good job as fishing was poor.
Plenty of cycle paths around the park we went out most evenings for bike ride.
Local Area, things to do and Shops:
There is a massive tesco extra about 4 miles away ask for directions at the reception.
Nice garden centre just up the road.
There is the steam train just up the road which takes you in to Peterborough.
Remember to take your receipt from caravan site get train tickets for half price.
We see some tickets in the information hut for free entry in to the greyhound racing in Peterborough.
Excellent night out you only have to pay £1 for program.
Good take away food can sit down inside or also stand outside to watch the dogs.
We had very enjoyable week soo good we booked an extra night.

Recommend this site very good
Toilet and shower blocks very clean liked the showers.
You have your own shower cubicle which you can lock the door.
All shower and toilet block are locked so you have your own key.
Campsite very clean and tidy and the wardens very helpful they are also always looking around to see if people there that shouldn't be there.
We stayed on grass area pitch no 130 at the start of our holiday found it was a little to hot with the sun being on the caravan and awning all day so on the Monday we decided to pitch 117 a lot better.
We found not very good signal on my aerial advisable to take your own aerial wire 25 mtrs length because there is a tv socket on the hook up box.
If you have freeview tv or box works brill I did take my sat dish but to many trees in that area ok maybe on hard standing you would be ok.
We found some V.I.P tickets for greyhound racing in the information hut near to reception we had brilliant night out.
Well worth going.
We was there for the fishing in neene park but it was very poor didnt catch hardly anything.
We spent most of the week out on our bikes brilliant if you like cycling we enjoyed gentle rides out in the evening.
If you go in to the park with your car there is a charge of £3 at weekends free in the week but its not to far to walk in to the park.
There are some play areas around the park for kids also some on the campsite.
There is a cafe and a gift shop on neene park.
There is chip van on sit on certain night well worth the money.
Nearest big store is tesco they have directions in reception it is a tesco extra and is very large store.
Nice site enjoyed the week we stayed an extra night does get very busy at weekends.
Would go again shame the fishing was poor but still enjoyed it.
