Really lovely site. The camping areas, of which there seemed to be two are not too big, and the actual site is really pretty and feels peaceful, surrounded by trees. Lots of space for running around, the playground we found on site was up to date and the cycle paths nearby are not too busy (or hilly, useful for kids!). Facilities are clean, with lots of toilets and showers so we didn't queue at all, even though it was quite busy. Will definitely return.

Our second visit to Ferry Meadows site, decided on the east side site as it was much quieter, lots of nice walks, wild life and bird watching
Toilets and showers lovely and clean and up to their usual high standard, basic shop in the reception, supermarkets nearby

We have stayed here before a couple of times, the site is split in two by a road which leads to Ferry Meadows, before weve been on hardstandings but this time we opted for the grassy site over the road. The area is less regimented and is split into smaller bays'areas which makes it feel smaller than it is. It was very nice and quiet despite the site being nearly full, our area had about15 vans in it.
The facilities were nice and clean, as was the whole site.
There is a chip van that was there at teatime on the Friday and Saturday but we didn't really like the chips.
There is easy access to Ferry Meadows which is great for walks, play, kite flying, bird watching etc etc.
The steam train is nearby and it's quite pricey for a day ticket but if you present your bookin reciept you can get 50% off. The pub up the road by the garden centre serves nice food, but small portions and we thought a bit overpriced.
One thing I would say about direstions is, before turning off the A1 look out for the sign that say Nene Park, our friends were looking for Ferry Meadow signs but these don't appear until you are nearly there.
We will return here and probably once again opt for a grass pitch.

We stayed here as a stop-off on our way up North and found it well kept, with clean facilities and a friendly welcome. If you arrive after 8 pm you have to park in the late arrivals area and use a code to get into the toilet facilities. Thankfully we made it in before the deadline.
The site is large and popular and it is easy to see why as it is ideal for walking and cycling holidays. We can't fully review the facilities as we had such a short stay, but would stay there again if on another long trip due to its proximity to the A1.
We walked to the Granary Beefeater which is about 10-15 minutes away on foot, but it was extremely busy and service was lacking so we ended up driving to find a supermarket. We found a Londis which was closed before 9 pm but luckily there is a Chinese takeaway next door.

Second stay at this well managed friendly site which is split as if it's two sites, either side of the main route into the park area but with one Arrival Area/Reception. Lovely clean modern shower/toilet block with excellent services and disposal facilities well placed around the site. Small fenced/gated playground for children to play safely. Situated in the middle of a park, surrounded by lots of walkways, routes to small villages and a steam railway that's open to the public. Cycling is easy here as it's mostly flat and the paths are in good condition and it's mainly traffic free. Within a 10 minute walk there is a Garden Centre and a Family Friendly Chain Restaurant. A little further on following the signs for 'Local Shops' is a lovely pub serving very good food (approx 30 min walk, but down hill on the way home!)
Fairly quite, and a good TV reception. Great place for families with lots to do and no need to get the car out, apart from picking up some shopping perhaps.

Gem of a Site!
What a lovely site. Set in such a gorgeous Country Park with the option of lots of walking, biking or jogging. Water Park has lots on offer too. The country park has so much to offer as a whole.
With regards to the site this is of the usual high CC standards. The wardens were friendly and we were left to choose our own pitch. The facilities are of the normal high standard for the CC. Showers were spacious, very clean and lovely hot water - not push button which is a bonus. The facilities had a security code door access which wasn't a problem.
The pitches were nice and flat and had a good degree of space between them.
Don't have young children any more but can see that this site would appeal to those with - and those with the 4 legged variety!
Would definitely return!

We have just returned home after spending 5 nights in glorious late summer weather (end of September). We were trying out our new caravan and found the hardstanding pitches to be excellent. Level and plenty of room for a car/caravan and awning, if required. When we checked in the friendly warden said we could choose our own pitch then report back to the office to inform them which number and pick up our exit barrier card.
Facilities on the site were excellent, toilets/showers/washing up sinks were immaculate, lots of hot water at all times.
If you love CYCLING then this is the site for you. There are miles and miles of excellent cycle paths directly from the site. One day we cycled to Stamford which was approx. 12 miles, and had an excellent lunch at the newly opened Wetherspoons, The Stamford Post. We then booked our cycles on the train and had a lovely ride back to Peterborough, when we then rode the 3 miles (again along cycle paths) back to the site at Ferry Meadows.
If you like good cheap beer, try the Botolph Arms, (Sam Smiths) on the Oundle Road, reached from the cycle path into Peterborough, turning off at Botolph Green. The pub is is lovely wooded grounds with plenty of outdoor seating and children's play park adjacent. Also does food, but we did not try this.
All in all an excellent break for a few days.

This is our favorite site. We have been coming here regularly ever since we had our first motorhome. We are so lucky it is not too far from where we live.
Love the walking, biking and the cleanliness of site. The Neme Valley Park is superb, so many different walks, our dogs love it, especially when we lost Poppy, our border terrier, and a couple had picked her up on her way back to the site and took her to the cafe in the park where they cooked her sausages as someone had told them that there had been a dog running loose for a couple of days. Certainly not Poppy but she enjoyed her sausages until we came along and claimed her.
Recommend this site to everyone but keep your eyes on your bikes as some have been stolen!

I expected to dislike this site, having been squashed in Norfolk, but it was superb. Clean and with lots of nice nooks and glades. Facilities were good, with lovely hot showers, but I do wish they still had an iron. Go for the side across the road from the main reception, mostly grass pitches and really pleasant. I did feel however that if it was full, it would have been difficult to access some of the tighter pitches. Next door to a super country park, with miles of cycling/walking. Why cant all CC sites be like this?
