Really enjoyed this site - Nene Park which is adjoining is a fantastic place for walks or bike rides. The site is very well maintained and the wardens work hard to keep this standard. If you are in a motorhome then you are a bit limited for close local shops but the Granary Beefeater is just down the road and the local Notcutts Garden Centre also does breakfast. The showers and toilets were exceptionally clean at the site and they do sell a few basics in reception if you are desperate for supplies. The scenery in the nearby park is amazing and on a hot sunny day breathtaking so we will be going back here as soon as we can.

What a lovely site. Friendly staff at reception, you could order papers and they sold milk bread and other things you should need. The toilet block was very good clean with plenty of loos, privacy cubicles and showers. The site is split by the road to the park, what a lovely place that was, lots of walks round the lakes, plenty of play areas for the children with a couple of cafes. The other walk from the site was to a lovely garden centre with a café, and a pub that did nice food. The golf course was at the side of the pub and some of the people from the site played there, often you could watch the players come in on the eighteenth in the sun with a glass of wine very pleasant. There is a steam train that runs from the small station just down from the site on a weekend and I think Wednesday to Peterborough a discount was given if you took your receipt from the site, we did not use it as we just did the local walks of which there is plenty. The walks are safe for children on bikes as long as supervised. There was a Tesco close by which I walked to as this was the nearest place for a cash machine. We will be back for longer next time we loved it.

We are first time caravanners and picked up our new van on the Friday morning and headed off to Ferry Meadows which is about 40 mins from home. We were very nervous about pretty much everything, towing, siting the van, setting up etc etc but we could not have picked a better site to begin our caravanning career! The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the shop was open long hours and was well stocked. We chose our pitch and found it to be nice and level. There was plenty of space between the pitches and although the site was pretty full it felt spacious, quiet and relaxing all the time. We didn't use the toilet block but it looked large and well maintained and entry was gained using a code given upon check in. We were fairly close to the children's playground but although well used it was never rowdy and our 8 year old daughter spent a lot of her time over there meeting new friends. The site was beautiful and ideally placed for visiting Ferry Meadows park which is well worth a trip with plenty to do and see for us, our daughter and dog. All in all a successful weekend (helped by some lovely weather!) and we will definitely return.

This site is fabulous, its well maintain and the facilities are spotless, sadly the same can not be said for the wardens who we found to be bad tempered, hot headed and rude.
The site is policed with an iron rod, there are multiple rules, that are not explained in full when you arrive. A simple misunderstanding is blown out of proportion, with the result of a stay at home mother being called a liar in front of her three children, whilst they sob 'why is the man being such a bully'.
Looking at the other reviews this looks like we caught someone on a very bad day but I'd would strongly recommend that The Caravan Club review the behaviour of their Management team as this is not acceptable in front of young children.
The site is really well located, there is loads to do very close by.
I found the site a bit suffocating, it's very organised, you must park in a particular place, everything must face a certain way, there are codes to get in the loo's, all it needed is white line and it would be a very clean and pretty car park, with traffic wardens.
Facilities 10, genuine camping experience nil points.

This is a wonderful Caravan Club site. It is right next door to the Country Park, with great access to walks, cycle routes and wildlife. The other direction down the road is the Nene Valley steam railway. By showing our site receipt, we were giving a discount. We had a fabulous day on the railway and had a lovely ride into Peterborough and then back.
Another day we cycled alongside the railway line into the City, which is a really pleasant ride. Our children managed it quite easily, and we did our shopping and cycled back. Saved using the car.
The site is lovely - split into 2 parts, 1 either side of the road. The one with the office is more regimented and has more hardstandings, but we always go across the road which is bigger, has a bit more room plus really good kids playground.
Fish and Chip comes on site at the entrance a couple of evenings, and ours tasted nice.
Only slight problem we had was that the toilets have a keycode entry to stop the park users using them, but my 9yr old daughter had problems operating the keycode pad, and the washing up area was on the side of the toilet block so you do get wet if it is raining. Nothing too major and certainly did not spoil our enjoyment of the site.
We had a nice meal at The Granary at the beginning of Ham Lane, within walking distance of the site.
It was a great time at a lovely site and we will be returning.

This was our first visit to the site and we were not disappointed. The site was immaculate, well laid out and pitch sizes were generous. The staff were most helpful and very polite. The proximity to Nene Park was a bonus affording wonderful country walks, the Nene Valley Railway provided atmosphere with the steam and smoke blowing across the site now and again. We really enjoyed our stay and have already booked another visit.

I have previously reviewed this site but wanted to add a couple of points after this latest visit. As a dog owner, the nearest pub isn't the place for you unless it is warm enough to sit outside. A previous reviewer has mentioned Ramblewood which is a 15 to 20 minute walk up the road. After numerous walks around the country park we decided to walk to the railway line and turn right up the footpath. You will walk past one railway bridge, and over another to cross the river, at the next bridge turn right up the road and walk into Castor. There are 3 pubs in the village, the last one being 'the prince of wales feathers', which is dog friendly, decent menu, and very welcoming. It took about 45 minutes to an hour but a nice change from the country park routes.

A good caravan club site with the usual high standard of facilities. Shop doesn't sell much though. We were given a friendly welcome and advice from the wardens and assistants.
We took advantage of a half price caravan club offer and used the Nene Valley steam railway to go into Peterborough. The station is a minutes walk away and you can see the steam from the trains and hear them passing from your caravan.
Peterborough looks grim at first but has a nice old city centre and the cathedral is very impressive.
The best thing about this park is the location in a posh suburb next to Ferry Meadows country park with its fishing walking golf sailing cycling etc etc.
The caravan park has loads of resident rabbits and squirrels. The pitches are of a good size.
There is a Beefeater pub/restaurant two minutes walk from the site but they wouldn't accept our group of 8 because we had one dog so we walked 15 minutes to the Ramblewood inn and ate there twice running.

Visited Ferry Meadows over the Bank Holiday and really enjoyed it. Friendly staff, good quality toilet block and lovely setting. One or two of the pitches flooded in the heavy rain one night but overall a really good site.
Caravan club site so very clean and tidy all round. The country park adjoining the site is absolutely lovely and Kids play facilities on and off site great. Local attractions include acres of Country and Lakeland park, Nene Valley Steam Railway, (not a steamy but this really is worth a go), great value too at £17 for a family day ticket on Bank Holiday Monday.
The 'local' is a chain type pub but very good and try a visit to 'The Cuckoo' a short drive away. For a great Panini try the sailing club in the country park but if we go again and we probably will, we'll order one to share, they're massive.
The only slight negative was the ice cream van driving round the site at 9:30pm playing 'Always look on the bright side of life' at full volume.

A really lovely site ideal for families. This was our 2nd trip with our caravan and we had a wonderful time. Toilets and shower facilities were clean, tidy, and in perfect working order.
The pitches were large with plenty of water and electric points. Its a fan site if you have young children, ours were free range and fun fill all weekend.
The neighbouring nene park is beautiful and again perfect if you are a family with young children.
Definable will use ferry meadows again
