We spent 2 weeks here from the weekend after the Gloucester floods and were surprised to find it so well drained and dry underfoot considering how fairly level it is. We had a couple more downpours and it remained the same, a real big advantage this summer! As all of the previous reviews have mentioned, the new owners, Lorraine and Dave, are so helpful and friendly it makes your stay a pleasure. Disabled facilities are currently being added but we could get our son's shower chair into the showers easily enough and as previous reviews have said the showers are superb. The Cafe on site is great serving breakfast, lunches and also does food to take out. It is a great base from which to explore the Forest of Dean and as word gets round, it will be essential to book well in advance.

The weather wasn't good but this was made up by the excellent hosts. They are down to earth and they always ensured we were OK. Had a lovely breakfast in the cafe and the facilities are new and well maintained. A short walk up the road and you are in the Forest of Dean and once off the main track you can see an array of wildlife (either walking or on a bike). The local village has a good food shop and there are lots of local walks, so no need to drive. Ross on Wye, Monmouth and the Clear Caves are well worth a visit. Enjoy :-)

Our first visit to Greenway Farm - beautiful location with excellent walks for dogs in forest right on your doorstep. Dave & Lorraine are friendly & helpful. Good flat site in the touring field with pitches excellently laid out round the edge of the field. Unfortunately owners allowed tents and caravans to mix in the caravan field. A group of five families with one touring caravan and four large family tents pitched right next to us - within 4 feet - on a space meant for three caravans. When we made our concerns known, the owners walked the site and ignored the situation. New arrivals need to be monitored otherwise we will not be the only unsatisfied tourers. We decided to move on and our money was refunded. The cafe looked good although we did not use it. The toilet and shower block was clean and quite new, but 2 showers and 2 loos for women and the same for men is not enough for the number of tents and caravans the site can now take. With planning permission obtained for 20 more tent pitches, the facilities will definitely be insufficient at busy times. Because of the fabulous walks, for us and the dogs, and surrounding countryside, we will return but only mid week and not in school holidays.

Nice site with all the facilities you need and good access to the Forest of Dean. Pitches were all pretty level and we had lots of space to ourselves.
Very friendly owners - always happy to stop and chat, give advice on where to go and help with any problems setting up - David even offered us use of part of the new building (just bare concrete floors but under cover and with doors & windows) if we wanted somewhere to sit for a late drink while it was pouring with rain!
Showers hot & powerful and free - bit of a queue with only 2 in ladies, and when queue builds up bit tricky trying to get to sinks, dry hair etc. All were clean all weekend.
Cafe looked nice with homemade cakes etc but we didn't use it. Fish & chip shop in village very good, fish in particular very tasty. Pub looked fine but we didn't go in as had numerous wet dogs in tow.
The owners are obviously keen to build up their business and I think this site will only improve. Would return if in this area again.

The owners, very friendly and helpful, have given the site a total refurbishment, the facilities are all brand new. Free hot showers (2 each). Spotless facilities, even over Easter (our 1st visit). Great cafe/tearoom on site, we hardly turned the cooker on!. Separate electric hookup and camping fields. The hookup field we were in had plenty of room for kids to play, with the pitches all laid out around the edge. Great atmosphere on site. Forest/countryside walks right on the doorstep. At the top end of the village of Drybrook, pub and Spar type shop 15 min walk. Excellent base for the Forest of Dean. This one will be a regular for us.

What a GREAT site, greeted by Andrew the owner (very friendly and helpful) shown to our pitch. Lovely flat field with plenty of play area for kids in middle, we were the only caravan on site for one night, another caravan which was put 3 pitches away the second night. The owners attitude is never fill to capacity which I felt was a good attitude to take, so many other sites seem to pack em in. Good facilties for a basic site, lovely hot showers, clean toilets, cafe on site which we didnt use, but will next time. Tents are kept to another field. Loads of things to do locally if you like walking, cycling or just want to be lazy. We will visit Greenway farm again, £10 a night for peace and quiet, cant beat it.

My sister and I stayed here for the Easter bank holiday weekend. Its a wonderfully quiet site with basic, clean facilities. Andrew, the site owner, made us feel very welcome. Staying here felt like a real get away, blissfully tranquil, and yet there's masses to do within the surrounding area - walking, cycling, kayaking down the Wye etc. Its not a hustle-bustle family site but there are chickens and donkeys around the place which little kids (and big ones!) would no doubt enjoy.

We were welcomed onto the Greenway Farm site by Andrew the owner and found him to be welcoming, friendly and helpful. He showed us our caravan pitch and explained that he doesn't like people to feel squashed in and so we had a pitch which could accomodate two caravans, to ourselves. The field for caravans has six hook-ups and is level with a huge area for games etc. and it has a pleasant outlook over farmland. There are small rural roads on two sides of the field, so it is not without traffic noise but it did not bother us in our caravan. The camping field is further away from the roads.
There are two showers, the charge for these is 20p, your money goes in an honesty box. We found them to be hot. There are three toilets and hand basins. The facilities may be descibed as rustic/basic and are unheated but were always very clean with plenty of loo roll, bottled hand soap and clean hand towels.
We did take a look at the Forestry Commission sites at Christchurch and they looked far too chaotic and "packed in" for our taste. If you want a quiet location within easy reach of all the Forest of Dean's attractions then this site may suit you. We found a lot to do in the area; we saw the stunning views at Symonds Yat and took a trip on the ferry, on our one rainy day went down into the caves at Clearwell and had a good time at the Shambles Victorian Village and The National Birds of Prey Centre, both at Newent. We will return, as there are plenty more things that we didn't get round to doing and would definitely use this site again when we do.
