Beautiful site located in a woodland setting, great as a base to explore Snowdonia.
It is also possible to walk from the site up to the peak of Snowdon via the Watkin path.
The village is very nice with some good pubs which welcome muddy walkers!
The site facilities are basic but clean and the warden is very friendly and helpful.

We went on the last Bank Holiday weekend in May only booked for two nights due to work commitments. We booked onto a larger pitch with a picnic table. The only problem was getting up late so that there was no hot water left for a shower. Nice site but very busy because of time of year also it would be nice if caravans were able to use grass field and not just hard standing because of the view.

We paid upfront for 5 nights and only stayed for 1.The site was overun with midges, all we done was wind the legs down and plug the electric in and we where eaten alive.
The toilet block was full of dead midges.
Owner wouldn't refund us our money.

This is a really beautiful site. The toilets and showers are in good condition and kept nice and clean. There is a small play area that our 2 children at 8 and 9 enjoyed.
The shop was a little disorganised with some basics like bread and milk being out of stock far too quickly but the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Beddgelert village isn't too far away and is very pretty with some fabulous walks.
The midges were bad until the 5th night when apparently they turned on their new midge busting machines. The next three evenings were much better and we could actually sit outside without being eaten alive.
We had a lovely time but it was very busy and noisy over the bank holiday weekend and when we go back (which we definitely will) we will avoid going at a peak time.

This is quite a nice site tucked away in the trees. We arrived on a very busy weekend and found the last pitch on the lower field near the entrance. There were 1 or 2 others elsewhere, but these tended to be awkward, gravelly or uneven pitches (much of the site is on a hillside so don't expect to have a level pitch).
Unfortunately we had strong winds so the trees sounded like Niagra Falls day and night. Being in the trees, there were thousands of biting midges (at least this kept the site quiet as the noisier elements on the site took cover relatively early in the evening).
The facilities are quite good (plenty of hot water and clean). The shop is basic but the site is essentially a base for visitng the surrounding area (Beddgelert in only 1 mile away).
We would stay again - but with insect repellant next time.

Overall, a lovely stay at this campsite! The staff were quite friendly - giving me a range of pitches to choose from and then popping to check everything was OK. There were plenty of water points and lots of pitches with electric hook ups. We had a larger pitch with picnic table.
This was a very busy weekend - pretty much every pitch was full over the weekend, but the park never seemed cramped or overcrowded.
The toilet blocks were clean, the showers good and more than adequate laundry and dishwashing facilities.
The site shop is very well stocked and handy for the essentials - you may well need insect repellant for the midges, even they weren't too bad.
Would I go back there for another break - Yes!

Lovely site, clean quiet very peaceful setting in the heart of a forest. Excellent walks with good sign posted paths. Good facilities although the showers are a bit pathetic, considering the size of the cubicles and size of the site. All in all very good 7 out of 10.

Spent Aug Bank Holiday here (Sat-Wed) and had a great time. Campsite full to brim which rather over-stretched the showers/washing up area but hey, weather forecast good and last bank holiday for ever ! Some parts of site sloping, some a bit rocky, others secluded amongst the trees - no marked out pitches just go where there's space remembering this is a Forest Holiday site so not too close to each other ! Every bit of pitching by river taken when we got there about midday on the Saturday. Wardens very friendly and constantly checking the site. Gates locked at 1030, quiet rule from 1030 - absolutely enforced from 1100 which was wonderful ! Shop on site but very basic really - bacon, sausage, bread, few tins of this and that, drinks, choc and sweeties but they did sell lots of stuff for midge repelling ! Everyone seemed to be burning the citronella oil ! Fantastic walking from site - most of it uphill all the way ! Village about a mile away - have to walk down the road, but not too busy. About 4 pubs but distinct lack of real ale on handpulls - all the pubs were (I think) Robinsons. All had a limited number of outdoor seating (important when you've got a dog!). Lynns Tearoom excellent food at reasonable prices and large outside seating where dogs are allowed. Village store a bit disappointing . Very very basics so if you're coming to this campsite, you'd be better bringing your own food as much as possible. We like to shop for local food but not much about - no butcher or baker in village. Lovely ice-cream shop though ! We would definitely camp there again.

Spent an enjoyable weekend at Beddgelert Forest camp site. Area wonderful, with great walking, fantastic views and mountains. Camp site incredibly busy. Expected this due to it being the bank holiday weekend but we were not prepared for the numbers that they managed to cram in. The 3 metre spacing rule went out of the window at times. Due to the amount of people the site was very noisy and this continued late into the evening and on one occasion into the early hours of the morning. The rules insisting on quiet after 22.00 and silence after 23.00 were not enforced. Toilet and showering facilities were very good. They were kept clean at all times and despite the site being busy there were never any queues. Washing up and laundry facilities also present and very very well kept. Site shop is basic but useful for the essentials. Children's play area is handy for the children and they can also paddle in the shallow river which is nice. Staff on site were friendly and helpful and dedicated to maintaining the facilities. Midges are a problem. You definitely need to bring repellent with you otherwise it is impossible to sit out in an evening. The village of Beddgelert is very pretty, with all the facilities that you require. There is a very good pizza place that serves wonderful, freshly made food and is great for the kids.
