We stayed for a week with our two children age 2 and 6. We initially booked for 2 days but as it was so cheap (£6 per night) we couldn't resist a longer stay.
Lovely touring field, clean and tidy. Try to get pitch 1-11 as these are quite private, near the fish pond and toilet block. Only a five minute walk to the entertainment centre.
Entertainment on a night ok but they could do with a separate bit to do the bingo as this is before the kids entertainment and it is hard for them to sit quietly whilst the bingo is on.
Nice pool although cold at times. Pool staff also very unfriendly compared to the other staff on site and also inappropriately dressed.
Don't use the on site shop as its expensive. Go to Hornsea 6 miles down the road as they have a huge Tesco, through the town at the roundabout at the end. We didn't eat in the restaurant as it was pricey and we were told it wasn't too good. Go back to the main road (back towards Bridlington) and turn right. On the bend is a lovely little Italian called Cosa Nostra which is cheap and great quality food. The portions are also huge! My husband would recommend the calzone. You need two plates for it!
Overall we had a great stay but just a tip. It isn't a big site so don't stay in high season as it is really packed and not much fun fighting for seats in the bar.

Visited this weekend and having read some reviews didn't know what to expect, we were quickly checked in, clearly explained how to get to our pitch which was ample size but not massive, facilities great and clean, site clean with grass cut and the likes. Great chippy on site and decent shop, couldn't fault it really other than it being double price for a hard standing when you could have a grass pitch with electric, water and a drain for half the price! I guess if you do know you don't know. Awning was pitched into grass even with hard standing so really no benefit of booking a hard standing. Overall though we enjoyed and would recommend

Skipsea sands ideal place for me and my family, hubby 3 kiddies and pup. Also the in laws tagged along in there caravan. Was a fab and fun filled holiday. Plenty to do plenty to eat lots of entertainment for the kiddies, pool, entertainment staff, amusments, the caravan site itself to explore the children's park, dog walk, pond with a variety of birds flocking in and out daily. Wildlife bunnies hedgehogs etc. Pet friendly and overall 10/10 for me and my family and others alike. Very clean and tidy spacious and handy for our tourer as we could pop off for the day to skirlington market and further. Thanks again have been a few times now so will be back. X

Just spent 3 nights at this site and it will be the only 3nights I will spend there. Toilets and showers were very clean, but we were given pitch 20 and it was the worst pitch ever, muddy, no grass, the hedges were old and broken. The grass around the touring site had not been cut for months, there were nettles all around the pitch. When I went to empty the waste water the water carrier was covered in mouse droppings. We couldn't put the awning up because of the mud, nor could we sit outside the caravan. The static area is immaculate, pity they don't spend some money on the touring site.

Overall facilities were excellent on the touring area and site facilities. Toilet blocks clean and tidy. We used the entertainment complex which was good the pool is excellent.
Downside
Irresponsibly dog owners not cleaning up after their dogs, also too many dogs allowed on individual pitches (some had three or four dogs per pitch)resulting in barking and yapping.
During our stay our passes were only checked once this was when we went to the pool. There was no evidence of doormen at the pub/bar area.

Just returned from a weeks holiday and have to say we would return here again, the pitches were really nicely presented with hedges separating each pitch so you didn't feel squashed together. The showers and toilet blocks were ok but only 3 showers in each block, had a lovely park for kids, the duck pond needs to be made more secure as there is no fence around it, adequate dog walk. The character shows were good the only thing I would say needs looking at is the entertainment room is not set out very well and on really busy nights it is not big enough to accommodate everyone, nice fish and chip shop just outside the site and reasonably priced. There is virtually no phone or Internet signal on site, the nisa shop sells most things you would need. The beach access is quite a walk away as the coastal erosion has taken the road.

This site is one of my favourites in the country, I have been coming to Skipsea sands for 40 years and it never disappoints, its even better now its owned by Park Resorts, the pitches are well laid out, the shower/toilet blocks are immaculate, the dog walk is nice and kept clean, the club house has 3 bars and great for kids and adults alike, the staff are friendly, ten pin bowling, amusements, and Bridlinton a short drive away, I cant think of any bad points about this place, its heaven, will be coming back for many a year still (I hope)

Stayed here for two nights on the first decent weekend of this year, very large pitch separated by shrubs/trees so you do not feel hemmed in, good facilities including swimming pool, sauna and steam room, which we made full use of, two facilities blocks in the touring area, the block I used was clean and had three of everything, showers/toilets/urinals/sinks, never busy although the site was only 50% full. Great entertainment in the showbar (Elton John and Kiki Dee no less)and a couple of smaller bars used by adults but not exclusive, a very well maintained site, we enjoyed it that much we have tried to book for 2 different weekends in the future and both are fully booked.

We are new to camping and visited Skipsea Sands for 4 nights after Easter. We chose the site because our party had 3 children between the ages of 5 and 9 so we wanted something on site for them to do. An added bonus was that you could pay using Tesco clubcard vouchers which made it very cheap.
I was dreading it somewhat before we went after reading some very bad reviews on various websites. All in all, the site was better than I expected and my 6 year old boy loved it.
Good points
On site entertainment for children. My son and husband used the pool twice. It was heated and looked reasonably clean, but I thought the changing rooms needed more thorough cleaning.
10 pin bowling was charged extra, and although the equipment was faulty at times, it passed an hour in the evenings. The children enjoyed the arcade games and there was other entertainment that we didn't do.
Toilet / shower / pot wash block was central in the touring field and not too far away.
Kids playground next to touring field which was great
Our pitch had had some new turf laid and was well drained.
Bad points
Ladies showers did not drain properly, so you had to be careful not to cause a flood in the washroom !
Wash facilities in general are old and need updating. Not the cleanest I've seen but also not the worst. Staff do seem to check them regularly which helps.
Overall, it was a budget break and the standard of the facilities were adequate. Unlikely to return but would not rule it out completely.

Stayed at this site about 5 years ago and it was very nice then, so did not hesitate to book again during half term week. Oh dear what a disappointment. I hate giving bad reviews this is my second attempt, after calming down some what. So here is the good and bad.
The touring pitch was just a muddy bog, yes I know we had a lot of rain, but on booking we were not informed that the pitches were so bad. Other sites would have closed due to health and safety.
We asked for hard standing/ awning pitch and were told none were available, the pitch we were given we were unable to gain access to due to the state of the ground. Phoned reception and was allocated another pitch that we just managed to park on, did not even attempt to put our awning up. Several hard standing pitches were empty.
Staff very nice, towing vans off pitches with tractor.
3 toilet/showers in ladies, all very muddy with unusable mop to clean, so did not use.
Swimming pool freezing due to broken heating system, same in bar/eating area and entertainment venue. We sat with our coats on. Staff again very nice.
Shop almost empty, or closed, I was told it was end of season. But it was half term and very busy.
Play area was well equipped though muddy, the ducks loved it.
We had a major problem with some idiots from off site using the touring site as a racing track late at night, security staff was very nice, but this could have been prevented had the security barriers been in operation.
I complained at reception again staff very nice, they took my details as the manager was unavailable, and said they would contact me at home. Several other people were also complaining from touring and static site.
Good points. Skipsea is a lovely area, 20 mins walk to beach access due to coastal erosion.
Handy for Bridlington and Hornsea a visit to the Floral Hall for home cooked food and the best scones ever tasted.
Final comment. Despite several phone calls management have not been available to speak with me and have not returned my calls, very disappointing. Will not return again.
