If you have kids and worry the weather may be bad then go here. A proper holiday park with a main emphasis on statics - there are loads. When you get statics then you get good facilities as they pay for them!
Not Butlins but plenty on site to keep the kids entertained. A kid friendly bar, pool, bowling - all costs but no too dear and amusements.
The little cafe diner is not too nice, a bit cheap and greasy and the woman working there clearly hates her job!
We are going again for bank holiday August, and we don't care what the weather brings. The pubs are good and cheap too.

This was our 1st camping trip as a family, so we were all excited, especially our 2 kids, Ryan,9 and Olivia,6. The entrance to the site is very welcoming and the grounds are landscaped and well maintained. The reception area was bright and cheerful with plenty of info on the surrounding area. The touring field is separate form the rest, although it is still near to all the facilities. You have to scan a card (£5 returnable deposit) to raise the barrier to drive through, so it is secure. Every pitch has electric hook-up even if you don't use it, but this is something we will definitely be buying for our next camping trip. Each pitch is sectioned off by hedging and plants with plenty of room for your car as well. The shower blocks were okay but basic. The water was lovely and warm, no complaints there! There are no electric points in the shower blocks. There is a big adventure play area for the kids set in lovely surroundings including a duck pond, with ducks waddling about all over! There are even little rabbits hopping about! The swimming pool was great. There is ten-pin bowling and amusements including an indoor soft play area for 3 to 11 years. There is a diner serving meals and meals to take away as well. There is a supermarket. There is a sports bar and a club offering good entertainment on stage, for kids and adults including a disco. The only down side is there is now no access to the beach from the site as the sea has washed away the steps. It is a fair but lovely walk to the next set of steps to get to the beach. Go to the left outside the site and there is a fish and chip shop, their fish and chips are delicious! We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again, for longer next time!

A very well maintained site, friendly staff with adequate, but clean toilet facilities. Plenty to do on site including a warm swimming pool, although one wall of the pool was stained and needed cleaning. It was cheap enough at £1.50 for adults and 75p for children.
The entertainment while we visited, was quite good on the first night, but the second was dreadful. The volume was turned up beyond the system's capability and sounded bad. This level continued through the DJ spot after the singer.
Paid £19 per night, which we think is high for 30th Sept to 2nd Oct. For that we got a level grass pitch, with electric and water connection, for two adults and a child. Included with this price is admission to the club with entertainment and the kids club.
A £5 deposit is payable on the electronic key, which you must have to gain entry to the touring site and toilets. Childrens play areas are good and a duck pond in the tourer site is a nice touch.
Overall a good site, but pricey. Not sure if we will return. The overloaded PA system was a big put off as was the cost.

May 2005 This was our first visit to skipsea sands and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The site itself was immaculately clean and well maintained. The washing facilities were adequate but to a high standard of cleanliness. The entertainment provided was very good and ideal for children as they provided a kids club. There was ample to do including bowling, swimming, a gym and the shops on-site catered for your every need. After this visit we will be retuning for many years to come.

April 2005 We chose this site for our first outing with our trailer tent. A friend had used it before and said it was good for children (we have a 4 yr old)with plenty to do if the weather was bad. Within easy reach of Hornsea and Bridlington.
The lady on reception was really friendly, and explained everything, from the pitch layout and security right down to the entertainment in the club that night.
The touring area is accessed through a security barrier. The pitches were sensibly laid out and easily identified. All were within easy reach of the spotless toilet facilities. If anything the free showers were too hot.
Site Wardens keep the site clean, they never seem to stop, everything was clean and worked as it should. Although the site is very big, we had no problems with noise or traffic at night.
There is a big Club and Leisure/Pool complex with a Kids Club which is very popular. The licensed family room fills up early.
All in all a really nice site. We will certainly return.

August 2004 It had rained for the previous two weeks before we got there so the ground was very muddy but had to put the awning up anyway. The club is very good but get there early in peak season (cheap beer prices)the pool very clean but it isn't free. the showers on the touring field could do with an overhaul. We found them very cramped if you had to take in a young child and very hot, too hot for my little girl.

November 2004 The site was clean, well laid out with good, level hardstanding areas for motorhomes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our late evening arrival was not a problem in late November. Water and electric hookup for each pitch were clearly lit which made arriving after dark much easier. The leisure facilities were excellent out of season (i.e. they were quiet) although judging by the large number of static caravans this is unlikely to be the case in the summer. Landscaping in the touring section is starting to mature and adjacent tree planting appears to becoming established. Access to the adjacent beach is awkward out of season as the steps apparently get washed away with some frequency in the winter and the nearest all season beach access is some way from the site. Skipsea and this part of the East coast are not the most attractive parts of the Yorkshire Coast in the middle of winter, but if you like the off season solitude (as we do) this is a great site for a mid-winter weekend break.

June 2004 This site is great, we pitched our tent last weekend 19/20 June, it rained solid for the whole of the weekend, but the site remained dry.
The club on site is big enough to cater for all and with a swimming pool and a bowling alley available we were able to get wet inside and out.
The site is clean and tidy and flat.. and the staff helpful. Pitches are well spaced and large, a key entry system on all the toilets and the entrance gate and a warden on site 24/7 keeps everything spotless.
The only down side we found was that all pitches have electric hookup available and the price per night reflects that ....you pay even if you dont use it.

May 2004 I have visited Skipsea Sands for a number of years and just had another good weekend there. There are 90 pitches, all level with electric hook up, two good shower blocks cleaned regularly and an on-site warden who will help you out with anything. The touring park is seperate from the static park and has its own security barrier. You get electronic card which opens barrier and toilet/shower blocks. There is a children's play area, a dog walk and only a 5 min walk to beach. Facilities include supermarket, hair salon, amusement arcade, caravan and camping shop, laundrette, adult only bar, family bar with weekend entertainment, indoor swimming pool, reduced rates for tourers, leisure and fitness suite, full size ten pin bowling (4 lane), kids club for 4-14 year olds open weekends out of season but all week Bank holidays and school holidays.
All in all I would recommend the site to anyone even the people with the extra large tents.
