On a whole the campsite is ok. Friendly staff when we arrived who directed us to our pitch. Plenty of info in the welcome pack. Pitch was a bit rough and not the tidiest, lots of litter, but all pitches were separated by hedges which was good.
Toilet block was below average really, not the cleanest and in need of modernising. The showers have a separate changing and showering bit so your clothes don't get soaked but the roof was covered in mould!
Plenty to do on the park and in the vicinity, only a short drive to Bridlington. Beverley and Hull are not a million miles away either. Fish & Chips at Sullivans in Hornsea is a must!
The park itself has amusements and a club and a really nice leisure centre which looks very new. It also has a play park for the kids and a pond but be warned. If you get a pitch near the pond beware.
While we were there we saw rats running around the caravans pitched there
Overall, not a bad site but does need a bit of money spending on it.

Spent August Bank Holiday here. It was very full but that did not make it uncomfortable and had a very nice feel about the place. The tent sites are very nice and have little hedges around some of them. The swimming pool is very nice and warm. Also the club on the night is good to keep the children occupied.
The shower/toilet block was in need of updating for a site of this size. There is a duck pond, lovely park with plenty of grass for the lads to play football. An amusement block / bowling / activities to pay for if you want.
We had particularly bad weather and a few tents unfortunately nearly blew away but that did not stop us having a lovely time. An indoor pool with sauna and steam room is the ideal thing to look for on any site when you have five children and camp in England.
Paying that little bit extra is fine when you know that at least two visits to the pool would cost you at least £40 in the seaside resorts and you have it all on-site and will not cost you anything.

This is the third Park Resorts site we have used this year, the others being Nodes Point & Braden/Yare village.
We chose Skipsea sands as the other parks were excellent in every way, we were disappointed to say the least.
The toilet and shower facilities are inadequate for the number of pitches and although the cleaners try these just aren't kept clean enough. On several occasions I gave up and just used the loo in the tent! Showers were cold and the hot water for washing up was never there in the evening.
The camping field however is great and nicely laid out if a bit noisy at night (and morning, who plays load music at six o'clock and thinks it doesn't matter?)
Staff can be a little 'off' with you, we specifically asked for a grass pitch as we have a tent (it was on the booking conformation) we got given a concrete hardstanding & then they got funny with us when we asked for a different pitch!
Clubhouse not too bad but would class it as a 'sticky carpet' sort of place, the toilets here were disgusting so never let the kids use them.
It's a shame as they could do so much with their location, it is in a wonderful part of the country and the site layout is good, just need to spend a bit on upgrading facilities and keeping the place clean.

Arrived on Thursday around 7pm and it was raining. The bar staff gave me my paperwork. My pitch was a disappointment as I paid for a hard surface one. It was big patch which considering I was using a tent was not suitable. I was directed to speak to the warden who was helpful and said I should pitch anywhere I like. In the morning I was called to report to the office as soon as possible as I need to move my tent. The reception staff were polite, informed me that I had to move as that was not the allocated pitch. After about an hour they told me that I don't need to move anymore. I was relieved.
Toilets- could be better. The cleaner was trying but not up to scratch.
The water gets cold whilst having a shower, this was not a problem with the ladies. The lights turn off automatically after about 4 minutes, so you better be quick in there.
The washing up area needs a lot of looking after.
My boys 4&6 enjoyed it to the fullest as it is child friendly place. The grass is well kept and clean.
However there is no beach in skipsea due to soil erosion. Other amenities are 30 minutes drive.

Just returned from a two night break. Found the site good and well laid out. Small hedges between pitches so very private and did not feel overlooked. Toilets and showers adequate although could do with a mop to be able to get water up in shower area and would improve use.
Club small but children enjoyed entertainment.
Children age 8 and 5. Pool warm and not too busy.
Overall a good place for a short break would return.

We have just had a great week at this site, the pitches are generous and separated by hedges. Yes the showers a a bit dated but they worked really well and always had hot water.
The park was full at the weekend but not during the week, we found it very quiet. The kids loved seeing the wild rabbits running round and loved the ducklings on the duck pond. All the staff and fellow campers were very friendly and we have made some great friends.
The club was good for the kids and was not over crowded. All in all a great week and we will definitely return, only downside is the launderette was out of use throughout our stay.

Just returned from a brilliant relaxing week at skipsea. Can't review camp ground as we were in a a static caravan but we went to look round the tent field and did look nice.
From the minute we arrived the staff went out of their way to help us and it only continued like that until we left.
The caravan had everything you need, we normally go camping so nothing to really compare it to - one thing though each time we reported a problem to reception the problem had been sorted before we got back to our caravan.
We were only in the caravan for meal times and sleeping because the teamstars Mark, Darren, Ashley and Racheal were fantastic - the kids were entertained all week - we joined in with quizzes, treasure hunts, music time, skipping, making rockets and the kids loved meeting the bunny rabbit characters. Our kids ranged from 3- 10 and all want to go back again, so do I !
The pool was lovely and warm and the only fault would have been the changing area which was adequate but not great.
There are 2 fantastic play areas, a duck pond with gorgeous baby ducks - don't come here if you don't like ducks! A bowling alley (£2.50 per person for 1 hour). A restaurant / pub that does takeaway ( a bit like a weatherspoons style pub). Food was nice and again staff very friendly.
Not much to do in skipsea - but there is a bus stop on site if you don't have a car.
The shop on site is well stocked and adequately priced - especially the toys which were cheaper than most seaside resorts.
All in all what made our holiday was the staff and the teamstars - Unlike Haven, park resorts seem to remember a holiday is not where you pay and then get there and have to pay out again. This reminded me of what Haven holidays used to be like.
We will def be returning

Had a great weekend at Skipsea sands. I was very apprehensive when I booked this commercial site but I was very pleasantly surprised.
The pitches are surrounded by hedges on 3 sides making them very private and are plenty big enough for large tents. The warden drove round regularly.
The poole area is great and the reception staff were very helpful. The bar and entertainment complex was always full although we didn't use it ourselves. Shop was very well stocked and a little expensive.
The showers and toilets were well used and always busy but were cleaned regularly. It is pity there is no access to the beach - you cannot get down without driving to Ulrome. I would definitely go back to this site.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at skipsea sands.
Nice weather very hot but very windy the hedges gave little protection glad we had delta pegs the pitches are 10 by 12 and flat.
Entertainment area quite good £2.75 for beer acts quite cheesy but what you expect, chip shop out of main gates a little gold mine.No beach access due to erosion.
Lots of wildlife on site a large duck pond, wood pigeons, lots of rabbits and cheeky birds unfortunately swarms of flies and midges you need your fly screens down, tried going to the local pub and nearby hornsea but the flies got the better of us.
Only 6 showers for all the pitches woefully inadequate and dirty, ladies was shut on the second night due to vandalism.
Noisy at night a lot of swearing and loud music from inconsiderate campers no sign of wardens.
Overall 4/10.

We were met with a warm welcome an duly given an information pack and directions to the pitch which were straight forward.
Again like others mention the pitch sizes are plenty big enough.
I've marked the site location down as the beach access has gone with coastal erosion (not there fault). But there is little to do other than on site.
We did use the pool which was very good only going as deep as 1.5m but with lots of different activities held throughout the day. I do believe they should use the park and get some outdoor activities organised as the weather was nice an we didn't want to be stuck indoors all day.
Do try the chipshop off site as is really good and nicely priced.
We did again like others have problems with lets say young kids roaming without adult supervision gone 12 and having no respect for those wanting to sleep and also other parties chatting with what seemed a loud speaker when your trying to sleep at now gone 1am.
Ok stay bit wouldn't pay full price to come back unless on 2-4-1 nights like we booked.
