Overall the site is well-managed. Pitches are clearly marked and level. Facilities are all well maintained and clean. Even on the much busier weekend there were plenty of showers & loos without having to wait at all.
There is some noise from the main road, especially motorbikes, and at the weekend there were lots of kids about, but it does go very quiet at night on the site after 10, so we slept well.
Only minor negative was the big waste bins got very full over the very busy weekend, so the lids wouldn’t close (it was a little smelly walking past them to go to the loos/showers, but not too bad). On the whole a great site.
Big Lidl supermarket only 300 metres level walk away. Co-op about a mile away. Hayling Island doesn’t seem to have a ‘shopping area’ of any note, but there’s a typical beach shop or two and amusements, rides, a mini railway, ice cream and a few cafes down by the beach (1. 5 miles level walking) and plenty of parking there too.
Nearest Beach is pebbles, but there is a sandier beach further along the coast. Mad Hatter’s cafe and gift shop worth a visit (Food delicious and service excellent). Also plenty of takeaways and pubs serving food on the island if you don’t want to cook.

Stayed 2 nights September 20 as was visiting Portsmouth.
On first arriving it has a very hidden entrance and easily missed but not a big deal.
Young lady behind counter immediately advised me I’d not reserved a very nice pitch, and she’d move me somewhere nicer, can’t fault that.
Toilets and showers all fine, and generally what I’d have expected. It’s a nice small village type location and a Lidl about 1/2 mile away for supplies.
I’d stay again

Had a thoroughly good time the site was clean
The staff were helpful and welcoming and went up and above to accommodate us as did the man that ran the shop. We used the pool and shower block all very clean. The static was in good order and we had no issues at all.
We would recommend and visit again ourselves.

There were quite a few people around that looked like permanent residents but it felt friendly.
The toilets and showers were great and it was a bonus having a lidl 5 minute walk away. The heated outdoor pool was Brill for the little ones.
Would return👍

Stayed for 4 nights, campsite was very child friendly our children loved it there and the playground.
Toilets and facilities were all clean, hand sanitisers in places where needed.
There was a little noise after the curfew but it was dealt with by the warden and staff.
All the staff were also very pleasant and accommodating.

Overall very pleased with our stay at The Oven. Very helpful, polite and kind staff.
Only negative of our stay was bins needed emptying more often, as were overflowing most of our stay.
Also toilets could probably be checked more regularly.
