Lovely large site, which was clean and tidy with good views.
No noise from traffic and well spaced out pitches.
Friendly owners with easy access to Hope Cove.

Have visited Bolberry farm several times now and always have a fabulous stay. Fiona Is very welcoming and does her best to accommodate requests for particular pitches. We usually stay in the main field and love the fact that we can face our van any way we like to catch the best view. Facilities in the main block are good and we don't mind 20p for a shower. Have used the laundry too when we've been there for 2 weeks. The site is clean and although often busy, it is never rowdy or unpleasant. Pitches are huge with plenty of room to spread out with our tables and BBQ. Great Location with good walks into Hope cove not too far away and a great base for visiting Salcombe and Dartmouth which we love. Fiona always has great recommendations for places to eat and drink depending on what you fancy. Can't wait for our return visit this year!

We booked this site back in June as our usual Devon campsite was full but looking at the photos on the website this looked perfect. I called to book and after reading reviews, requested a pitch on the main park. At first I was told there were only Paddock pitches but then was given the final pitch on the main park. I was told to 'look on the website, it's the main photo on there. Youll have a great view' which was what we wanted. I looked on the site and was delighted with our pitch.
However on arrival, Fiona met us. Lovely welcome. Until we were told that someone else had our pitch. I was gutted! I'd been so looking forward to that stunning view! Although we were offered an alternative pitch, it was on the Paddock which we hadn't wanted and to be honest the owner didn't seem all that bothered that our 300 mile trip had been met with disappointment.
That said, the pitch we were given was fine, fairly flat (most paddock pitches are sloped) and we had a slight seaview which was lovely to watch the sun set.
The main park, whilst bigger and flatter is a bit manic with lots more tents etc and we felt the paddock, separated by a large field, was much quieter. Facilities are ok here, I didn't see the main park facilities but those in the paddock were fine. Maybe just needed clearing out of cobwebs and wildlife (insects!) But otherwise this didn't bother me. 20p for a shower, though it lasted ages. Don't mind paying this but 20p for hot water to wash up was a bit cheeky. Not quite the same level of water as a shower. !
Local area lovely, you can walk to the nearest beach in hope cove in less than 30 minutes but bear in mind it's all uphill on the way back. ! There are a couple of bars there serving food as well. Make sure you go at low tide when there's more beach! Bantham beach is our favourite.
Food vans visit the site including fish and chips on Sunday. Tasty but ridiculously expensive for such stingy portions. !
So overall we had great weather, the location and surrounding area is stunning but they need to change their website as the sea isn't as close as it looks and the view from the pitch by the gate looks nothing like that in reality.
Unfortunately we probably won't be back.

We visited Hope Cove for the first time in July and stayed at Bolberry Farm. Fiona the co owner gave us such a warm welcome, she is completely friendly and so very helpful. The site is in such a wonderful location, within walking distance of the Cove and the Coastal Path is so easily accessible making it a walkers paradises. The pitches are very spacious, Fiona gives you time to settle in and then arrives with a wealth of local information and that invaluable local map, just fantastic. It's just a great place to stay on many levels - the great customer service, wonderful location, lovely site.
We will certainly return. Many thanks Fiona. Bridie & Padraig

This campsite is great for relaxing and getting away from it all. Access is on country lanes and we imagine could be difficult for larger units and in high season. On arrival in the main field, the reception building is not manned (except we assume in high season) and therefore the small shop does not operate. However, Fiona (one of the owners) arrives in her ‘mobile reception’ (car) and provides all the information you need, including tourist info and walk maps.
The facilities are always clean, but are a bit dated and require 20p for showers and hot water to wash up (or take your boiled kettle with you). The best sea view is actually from the dishwashing hut, or the two benches outside the toilet block!
We stayed in the ‘Main Field’, which has 70 marked pitches, but there is plenty of space and it doesn’t seem cramped. However, the field is quite open and can be windy.
If you park up a campervan for the duration of your stay, you will probably walk down to Hope Cove a few times, but note that it’s uphill back to site, whichever route you take. Good location for walking the coast path, which can be accessed by footpaths.
All in all, a good site for those who like a simple set up.

The owner was on the site at the time of our arrival, so we were lucky and were advised where to pitch. Reception is not manned but you can make a phone call from a telephone kiosk (the 20p it is stated will be refunded). There are some good views to be had from various pitches, if it's not too windy to sit out and enjoy them. The location is fairly remote, good if you enjoy a good walk, but not for the faint hearted if you want to walk into Malborough for a meal, as the lanes are very narrow and busy. The facilities are quite frankly, poor, although kept clean. This sites charges seem fairly reasonable, until that is, you realise that you have to put 20p in the slot for showers; washing up water; hot water to hand wash in the laundry BUT you'll need to put 50p in the slot to plug in a hairdryer. I may sound mean and many may say 20p generally isn't that much and if this is the case, why charge it? We would have preferred to pay a few extra pounds a night to be able to shower and have sufficient water to lather up; wash dishes and do some handwashing without having to take a can load of coins! Won't be going back.

We can count on one hand the number of times we have written a review about anything but just had to sing the praises of Bolberry House Farm campsite. It is outstanding in terms of its beautiful location, immaculately maintained and run by its fantastic co-owner Fiona. She made us feel so welcome and was a wealth of information about the local area taking the trouble to advise us each morning about what to do and where to visit. She genuinely wanted us to have a fabulous time and we most certainly did. Thank you for such a brilliant holiday!

This is a really nice site. You will meet Fiona and get licked to death. By her dogs. Hospitality with a capital H. Lovely location for Salcombe. You might need the attributes of a mountain goat if walking is your thing. It isn't mine. So I packed a Yamaha scooter which was brilliant on those steep hills and awfully narrow roads. Back to basics site but spotlessly clean facilities. Dog friendly. We don't have a dog but we love dogs. Ps Fiona has a sheepdog that will pester you to death to throw her ball. Just go with it. Embrace the pleasure of the whole experience. Ps village nearby with top notch coop. Get your divi here.

The campsite is beautifully set and the caravan pitches were unusually large. The facilities were clean and well kept and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Overall we had a wonderful relaxing long weekend.
